Chapter 2

When Shi Yi was three and a half years old, his parents had a discussion about sending him to kindergarten. Shi Yi was very happy after hearing that because he could play with a group of friends every day! However, he did not forget his little sister.

“Mom, will Yiyi also go to kindergarten?”

“This…”  Ning Suya hesitated to speak.

Actually, Ning Suya had asked the Yu family before, but she didn’t get a positive reply from them. They said that the child was still too young to go to kindergarten and that it would only waste money.

Hearing such words, Ning Suya felt sad, but as Yu Zhiyi belonged to another family, she didn’t interfere.

The clever Shi Yi was not fooled and insisted on asking for the answer.

Ruan Qing, who was washing clothes in the house, heard the shout, took her daughter out, and let the two children play in the yard.

Later, Ning Suya took her son home and beat him with a clothes hanger.

Through his brother’s connections at the factory, Yu Zhiyi’s father, Yu Kai, was able to get a construction job, but he had to go to other provinces.

“Can you allow Yiyi to attend kindergarten, Uncle Yu?”

Yu Kai was moved by little Shi Yi’s words, so he pondered for a while and finally agreed to pay for his daughter to go to kindergarten.

When Shi Yi heard this, he was not happy, and he ran out of the classroom quickly, looking for Yu Zhiyi.

However, he was caught by the teacher before Shi Yi could take two steps.

“Let go of me; I want to find my sister!”

The teacher took his hand, trying to coax him back to the classroom, but Shi Yi raised his voice and shouted, “Help!” Even the head of the kindergarten was shocked.

After making such a fuss, he was finally able to find his little sister in the next classroom.

The teacher called up Ning Suya, who was still downstairs, out of concern for her kid. She crouched down and calmly explained to her kid, “Xiao Yi, you and she are just in different classes, you can still play together later.”

“No, my sister can’t stay without me.” Shi Yi firmly gripped Yu Zhiyi’s hand and wouldn’t let go under any circumstances.

Everyone turned to look at Yu Zhiyi at the same time and observed the girl standing next to the fussing boy without saying a word, without crying or fussing.

The kindergarten was providing lunch based on nutrition, and different kinds of fruits were given to the children every day, but the quantity was not much.

Today they got strawberries. As the children sat on the bench, the teacher gave two strawberries to each child.

Seeing that the teacher was giving them strawberries, Yu Zhiyi was overjoyed and quickly ate them.

Shi Yi, who knew that Yu Zhiyi loved to eat strawberries, subconsciously looked at Yu Zhiyi before he ate his. She had eaten most of her strawberries, and only half was left. Shi Yi quickly glanced at the teacher and stuffed his own strawberry into her hand while the teacher was not paying attention.

In desperation, the teacher took another two, gave them to Shi Yi, and watched him eat them before leaving.

Shi Yi found out his impression of kindergarten was completely wrong after attending it for a while. ‘I figured I’d have more fun with other kids, but I didn’t realise how troublesome these kids were. Some have runny noses, they can’t read or count, and they can’t play together cheerfully. Hmph…others can’t eat by themselves.’

He couldn’t block his ears from the constant chattering of the other kids. He turned to gaze at Yu Zhiyi, who was standing next to him. She was drawing and writing in her notebook as she was deaf to the outside sounds.

Shi Yi became frustrated and walked out of the classroom.

The headteacher just poured a glass of water and went back to the office, only to find that his office chair had been occupied by a little boy, who was playing with a Rubik’s cube.

“Shi Yi, why did you come here!”

“They are too noisy.”

“…”

Shi Yi: “I can’t read the book, and I can’t answer the questions.”

Head-teacher: “…”

Shi Yi: “There are still kids who are crying.”

“… ”

He complained until the end. “There is no way to communicate with them!”

When this excessively intelligent four-year-old complained like that to the headteacher, he became speechless for a moment.

“Then you don’t care about your sister?” the head teacher asked.

Shi Yi thought for a while, stood up from the chair, and said, “Forget it, I’d better go back to the classroom and watch her.”

As Shi Yi went to the class, the head teacher followed him and talked with the class teacher: “That boy is Shi Yi, right? He is reportedly more intelligent than the students in the other classes. ”

Actually, they just took it as a joke and didn’t take it seriously until one day they saw the little girl sitting on the slide with their own eyes, and Shi Yi was protecting her from other children.
