Chapter 20.1

Shi Yi’s promise that “I will always favour you” kept Yu Zhiyi up at night. She hugged her knees as she sat on the bed and spent some time gazing at the pitch-black sky. She then realised that she had been dependent on Shi Yi unknowingly, and she switched on the table lamp, opened the desk drawer, and took out a diary with a lock. She entered the code number to open the diary and sat on the chair.

After turning to a blank page, she started to write her thoughts, and at the end of the page, the name Shi Yi appeared. She understood that habitual dependence was a more deadly poison than love, but she didn’t want to let it go.

The Shi family faced another problem as September approached.

The three members of the Shi family discussed that together.
