Qiao Lezhi thought really hard and said all the things she had learned from reading the novel. She then sat in front of Yu Zhiyi, who was writing in her notebook with a serious expression. “Can you understand those things?” she asked her friend.

As Yu Zhiyi asked, “What does it feel like to have feelings for someone?” Qiao Lezhi answered her without understanding that Yu Zhiyi’s question had deeper meanings. And also, she just thought that Yu Zhiyi was going to write fiction.

Yu Zhiyi couldn’t write a sad and emotional story because she didn’t have enough experience. “If you have a strong feeling for someone and understand that person well, it means you like them a lot.”

“No, you can’t love someone at a young age.” Yu Zhiyi looked down, holding a pen, and started drawing random black lines on the paper.

“Oh, sure, the school says you shouldn’t fall in love too soon, but it doesn’t stop you from finding someone you’re interested in,” Qiao Lezhi said, smiling and raising her eyebrows at her.

As Jiang Mier walked past, she took a bite of the apple she was holding and sang, “I love you, my secret love. Do you love me too? Don’t let you fall in love; then you have a secret love.”

“Secret love…” Yu Zhiyi whispered these two words quietly, and the pen pierced into the paper, creating a dark black spot.

The school dormitory switched off the lights at the right time, but not everyone went to sleep at that time.

Qiao Lezhi was still busy reading a book. Jiang Mier was secretly watching a drama on her phone. Yu Zhiyi switched on the small table lamp next to the bed. Wen Tingyu, who slept in the bed next to her, was already in bed and ready to go to sleep.

Yu Zhiyi brought out the diary that she had been keeping on her bedside table, and now it had filled up more than half of the pages.

When she flipped the pages, she couldn’t help but notice what was written in the previous record. She then realised that in her diary, nine out of ten articles were all about Shi Yi.

Since she could remember, Shi Yi acted like a “brother” in her life. Later on, as she got older, she understood that they were neighbours but not related to each other.

But even if they were not family, it did not change the bond between her and Shi Yi, which was called friendship at that time.

Afterwards, during the summer, when she had been left alone, she saw Shi Yi as her only way out and started relying on him. She believed that it was the love and closeness of her friends and family that she had built up since she was young.

She never expected that one day she would realise that her feelings for Shi Yi had changed.

Feeling guilty, she searched for signs of interest and decided to use the “Book of Answers” that Shi Yi had given her to find solutions.

However, she chose not to look at the page of the book with the answers. While she was holding the book and reading the question, she already knew the answer she wanted.

She didn’t think about it, and her heart moved without her knowing how.

She thought about it and softly pressed the diary. She saw that the new page had not come loose but was still empty and spotless.

She clearly had many things to say, but when she tried to write, she couldn’t think of any words.

When Yu Zhiyi became confused and trapped, the person in the next bed kept tossing and turning and couldn’t fall asleep.

When Yu Zhiyi heard the noise, she quickly changed the position of the desk lamp, leaned towards the bed, and asked quietly, “Is it disturbing you?”

Wen Tingyu just used her hands to support herself and lifted her head to say, “It is not because of you.”

The conversation between the two people made a very quiet noise, like a soft breath, and nobody could hear what they were talking about.

“Did you want to write a book to express your thoughts and feelings about the questions you asked today?”

‘If you don’t say no, that means saying yes.’ Hearing no answer from Yu Zhiyi, Wen Tingyu thought to herself. “Do you mean the person you have feelings for is Shi Yi?”
