Absolutely Spoiled - Chapter 33.4

Chapter 33.4
Ten-year-old Yu Xinyan had gotten taller and slimmer than before.
However, now she has changed her name to Zhao Xinyan.
Talking about it, Zhao Xinyan was Yu Zhiyi’s sister from the same mother and father, but both of them stood together like they didn’t know each other.
Yu Zhiyi didn’t know how to deal with her younger sister, and Zhao Xinyan just ignored her elder sister.
Ruan Qing carefully placed a large bag in Yu Zhiyi’s room and unwrapped it in front of her. There were clothes and things girls use every day.
“Mom bought some things for you. I think the girls your age will like them. Do you like them?” Ruan Qing wanted to use all those things with a lot of excitement.
Yu Zhiyi didn’t feel happy when she looked at those things, and she politely refused. “Thank you. You don’t need to buy more things in the future; I already have enough.”
When Ruan Qing heard this, she felt sad. She reached out to her daughter, but she was scared of being rejected, so she kept her distance. Ruan Qing asked, “Are you still not ready to forgive your mother one at a time?”
Yu Zhiyi shook her head and said the past pain didn’t bother her anymore. “I don’t blame you anymore.”
Ruan Qing felt very powerless when dealing with her elder daughter. The girl who used to be goodwill probably never be close to her mother again. “Your mom got these things for you. You can have them.” She said that and then walked away, worried that her daughter might say no.
Yu Zhiyi looked at the person running away quickly, then closed her eyes and felt a bit tired.
Zhao Xinyan suddenly came in and took all the gifts from the bag and put them on the bed. While choosing, she said, “Sister, you don’t know what is good or bad. Those things cost a lot of money.”
“Do I have to be grateful and accept these things?”
“Cut, they all praised you for being obedient and sensible, but I don’t see it. I don’t know why they also asked me to learn from you. You obviously have such a weird temper!”
Zhao Xinyan seemed to despise her a little, and Yu Zhiyi felt a sense of injustice. “Why do you have any right to comment on me? You’ve been taken care of by our parents since you were a kid, and you’ve never been abandoned. Why do you think you can judge me?” She looked at Zhao Xinyan with a frown.
This made Zhao Xinyan frightened; she quickly dropped the things on the bed and ran from the room.
Yu Zhiyi breathed deeply to calm down because she felt angry at her sister, Zhao Xinyan.
Some people would think that what adults decide doesn’t affect kids. But her parents’ decision caused her to be the most different from Zhao Xinyan.
She was not a perfect person, so it was normal for her to feel jealous, and she had been envious of Zhao Xinyan since she was young.

On New Year’s Eve, Yu Zhiyi cooked a lot of tasty food with her grandma and mom for dinner.
To strive for performance in front of the elderly, Mr. Zhao also worked diligently in the kitchen to help.
The hot meal was prepared, and when Yu Zhiyi brought the dishes to the table, she saw Zhao Xinyan lying on the sofa, holding the remote control, and watching TV.
When Zhao Xinyan ate, she only took the meat and didn’t add any vegetables to her bowl.
Ruan Qing forcibly added some vegetables while saying, “Yanyan, you cannot just pick and choose.”
Zhao Xinyan said no and acted like a baby to the man next to her, calling him her father in a loving way as if he were really her dad.
Seeing that, Yu Zhiyi thought that she was not as lively as her sister.
‘Nevermind…nevermind…’

At noon on New Year’s Eve, she and Shi Yi sent “Happy New Year” to each other on their phones. This was the first thing she found in the new year, which made her happy.

Without realising it, most of the winter break had gone by.
Just ten days before school started, Yu Zhiyi decided to return to the city a week early.
“Grandma, I’m going to the city two days from now.”
“Make sure to be safe on the way. Yiyi, you should study hard and remember to take care of yourself while you’re there.”
“Umm”
She was putting her stuff in a bag at home when Jiang Mier called her out of the blue.
“What’s up?” She was surprised when she got the call because Jiang Mier never called anyone.
It seemed Jiang Mier called from outside, and there was a lot of noise in the background. “Guess who I saw at the internet cafe?” Jiang Mier’s lively voice came from the other side of the phone.
Yu Zhiyi put the newly folded clothes aside and asked, “Who did you see?”
“I saw Shi Yi smoking there! I didn’t even know that he would still smoke in Internet cafes!”
In their eyes, an outstanding student like Shi Yi had nothing to do with these things, but she saw it with her own eyes, so she felt novel.
As soon as Yu Zhiyi’s picking up clothes stopped, she paused for a few seconds and said seriously, “Mier, I beg you for one thing.”
After the phone was hung up, Yu Zhiyi was quicker to pack things up.
She pulled out a box at the corner of the bed, collected it, and picked it up. Suddenly, a small packet fell out and fell to her feet.
Yu Zhiyi bent over to pick it up and opened it to see that it was a bell.
A bell that didn’t make a sound.
In the afternoon, Yu Zhiyi carried her bag and said goodbye to her grandmother. “Grandma, I have to go back early. Next time I come back to see you, and you can visit me when you can!”
The old woman patted her granddaughter’s hand kindly. “Go…go, take care of yourself.”
Riding on the bus back to the city, Yu Zhiyi opened her schoolbag and took out a few red ropes, knotted and knitted.
When she reached the terminal, she had just woven the red rope, strung a bell, and put it on her wrist.

Because it was the Chinese New Year, the students were on holiday, some people had not yet started to work, and the Internet cafes were full.
Yu Zhiyi inquired from Jiang Mier about the place Shi Yi and his friends often visit, and as soon as she walked in, her nose filled with a smokey smell.
She still remembered that Shi Yi had said before that he hated the smell here, but he still came now and became a member of this place.
When she found Shi Yi with a lit cigarette between his fingers, all of them were facing the computer, operating the keyboard and mouse passionately.
There was a faint smoke around his mouth, and there was no light in the boy’s eyes.
Someone spotted her and quickly pushed down the arm of the person next to him.
All of them looked at her at the same time.
Among them, there was actually Jiang Yuran.
“Oh, this is… Hey Shi Yi, your sister is here. Jiang Yuran put her finger on the mouse and smiled at her in a joking tone.
Yu Zhiyi ignored her and walked straight to Shi Yi. No matter why he became like this, she just wanted to stop him when she knew what she saw.
“Stop smoking, OK?”
Shi Yi’s eyes moved slightly, and his expression was dull and unclear. The cigarette was still in his fingers, burning with a few dots of fire.
Jiang Yuran stood up from the seat and said something to persuade her: “Oh, it’s normal for boys to play games and smoke.”
It was because of Jiang Yuran’s “understanding” that she could get along with these boys. Seeing the eyes of those boys, it seemed to be so. In their eyes, it was really normal to come to Internet cafes to play games and smoke.
But Yu Zhiyi was unmoved and didn’t refute her words, just looking at Shi Yi.
She said, “I feel uncomfortable.”
With just one sentence, the boy immediately squeezed out the cigarette butt and said, “Okay, I won’t smoke.”
