Chapter 40.3

When Yu Zhiyi came home, she found out that Shi Yi was not at home. She . was surprised.

She arranged the things she bought today neatly and went to the bathroom to take a quick shower.

As she was leaving the bathroom, she heard someone at the door. Mr. and Mrs. Shi were also not at home, so Yu Zhiyi went to the living room, wiping her hair, to see who had come.

The door was opened, and Shi Yi showed up at it.

Yu Zhiyi walked towards Shi Yi, and as she was closer to him, she smelled a little bit of alcohol.

“Hey brother, it’s really hot out there,” she said, seeing Shi Yi sweating a lot.

“Yeah,” he said quietly, “I’m going to take a shower first.”

It was uncomfortable to sweat a lot when you’re outside in the summer.

Shi Yi took a quick shower, and when he finished, Yu Zhiyi was in her room blowing her hair with a dryer after applying some hair oil.

He walked towards her and grabbed the dryer. “I’ll help you.” 

“Oh,” said Yu Zhiyi as she moved her hair away from her face.

Her hair smelled good after applying hair oil.

Shi Yi adjusted the wind power and temperature of the hair dryer and patiently dried Yu Zhiyi’s hair. 

His cold fingers moved through her soft hair, creating tingly sensations in Yu Zhiyi’s heart. 

Neither of them said anything, but luckily the noise of the hair dryer covered up their awkwardness, and Yu Zhiyi felt less nervous.

Yu Zhiyi didn’t feel the time was passing until she heard Shi Yi’s sound. 

“Alright.” Shi Yi switched off the hair dryer, pulled out the plug, and placed it on the table.

Yu Zhiyi wasn’t sure if she was just thinking about it, but she felt Shi Yi was acting differently tonight.

‘What is the difference?’ She didn’t know.

“Brother, your hair is still wet. Do you want me to blow dry it for you?”

“It’s fine; my hair is short, and it dries fast,” Shi Yi said.

“Oh.” 

After Yu Zhiyi’s hair was dry and she didn’t need any more help, Shi Yi said, “I’m going back to the room now.”

Yu Zhiyi looked at him from behind and was unsure about what to say.

Tonight, Shi Yi was quieter than usual, but everything else about him was normal.

After thinking for a while, Yu Zhiyi switched on the computer and began writing about what had happened in the past few days. Since she had experienced it herself, she didn’t need to think about it, so she could code faster.

It took about 30 minutes to write 2000 words and share the update.

The system reset and new comments showed up after a short while.

[If Si Yi doesn’t like Yu Zhiyi, it will become our pipe dream. Anyway, I think the male character really likes the female character.]

[Yay, I finally got the update. I want to tell you that these childhood sweethearts are definitely going to be a CP.]

When Yu Zhiyi read those words, it made her feel excited and motivated.

Seeing the positive comments, Yu Zhiyi smiled happily and switched off the computer.

She then remembered Shi Yi’s strangeness and went to check on him. 

“Come in,” hearing the knock on the door, Shi Yi replied.

When Yu Zhiyi went into the room, Shi Yi was sitting in the computer chair and looking at the screen.

When Yu Zhiyi went inside, she closed the door like always. “Hey, did something happen to you today, brother?”

“What’s the matter?”

“I think you’re strange today, but I can’t say how. What were you doing today?”

Shi Yi sat up straight and said, “I’m okay,” while putting his arms on the sides of the chair. “It’s because Li Shaozhou was broken up in love, and we drank some wine at his house.”

“I smelled wine when you came in. Now I understand,” Yu Zhiyi said.

Shi Yi thought Yu Zhiyi could not feel the alcohol smell, but it seemed he was wrong. He turned his chair to face Yu Zhiyi and asked, “Did you smell it?”

“Um, yes, a little bit.” The little girl gave the right answer to the question.

He asked again, “What about now?”

“Now?”

They were now one metre away from each other, and Shi Yi took a shower when he got home; therefore, thirty minutes later, where could she detect the smell?

So, she moved her head back and forth and said, “It should be gone.”

Shi Yi pointed his finger at her and said, “Come here.”

“Ah,” Yu Zhiyi was a little confused but still went over obediently.

Shi Yi quickly reached out and pulled her down, making her bend towards him and bringing her head closer.

Shi Yi put his left hand on the back of her neck and asked, “Can you smell alcohol?”

The atmosphere became intoxicating.

The little girl’s hands were wet with sweat, and her face was so red that it looked like it was bleeding.

“No, there is no smell of alcohol,” she muttered because she didn’t want to smell the faint aroma of beer.

But Shi Yi didn’t let her leave. Instead, he confidently said, “That’s because it’s not near enough.” As soon as he finished talking, he pulled Yu Zhiyi towards him, and the poor girl fell onto Shi Yi’s lap.

Before she could do anything, Shi Yi’s playful voice said, “Yiyi is jumping into my brother’s arms.”

“I’m… I didn’t. I did not.”

The little girl spoke quietly and with a weak voice. She didn’t finish saying all her words.

She couldn’t resist because her body was too weak to fight back.

Shi Yi held her arms tightly, and Yu Zhiyi ended up sitting on his lap sideways.

Yu Zhiyi peeked at Shi Yi to see his intense stare. “Brother, are you really drunk?” she asked.

“It’s possible.” He nodded.

‘What should I do?’ The little girl chewed on her bottom lip and said, “Then…”

The light shining in front of his eyes disappeared quickly. Shi Yi looked down and said, “It’s normal for drunk people to act out of character, right?”

“Huh…really?” Yu Zhiyi couldn’t understand Shi Yi’s thoughts and couldn’t figure out what he said.

“Please listen and try to understand,” said Shi Yi, gently holding her ears.

When Yu Zhiyi was feeling unsure, she felt a warm touch on her lips.
