 That was her confession to him.

At that moment, the ordinary card in Shi Yi’s hand became the most expensive gift he had received so far.

“What’s written on it?” He Weiran went behind Shi Yi and asked.

Shi Yi hurriedly put the card into his shirt pocket.

For the first time, he thought that a shirt pocket was also useful.

That was a place nearest to the heart, so it was clear that Shi Yi really cared about this gift.

However, the little girl who bravely gave the present just now was very nervous and couldn’t talk. She felt shy and looked down with a red face.

Seeing that, Shi Yi held Yu Zhiyi’s hand.

Ke Xue was very upset. At first, she was sure that the gift prepared by Yu Zhiyi would not be expensive—probably no more than 2,000 yuan that a girl from an ordinary family could afford. But when she saw the brand of Yu Zhiyi’s watch, she realised she was wrong. It was not cheap at all.

Therefore, her gift would not be that important. But she got an idea. Ke Xue smiled and changed the subject on purpose. She said, “The most important thing is the thought behind the gift, no matter what it is.” She looked at others’ and said again, “Okay, okay, we’ve seen the gifts; let’s continue singing and playing games. I ordered this giant screen package, which is very expensive, and I also bought the drinks as a package, so don’t waste it just chatting.”

Every word clearly shows her willingness to “pay” for Shi Yi.

Hearing that, Shi Yi looked a little unhappy, but somehow he managed not to show it to others. 

He first thought that He Weiran and his two roommates put money aside to celebrate his birthday, and Shi Yi thought to give the money back to them. But he didn’t know that it was Ke Xue’s idea all along.

Shi Yi put the watch box next to the table and said with a smile, “Thanks for celebrating my birthday with me. I will give you the money that you spent today.” He sounded serious, not joking around.

He Weiran and Ke Xue looked at each other and shrugged sadly.

 ‘I have done all I can to help you. There’s nothing else I can do.’ He Weiran thought.

 One of the other roommates saw that things were going to be a bit awkward, so they came to ease the situation by saying, “Brother Yi, you’ve eaten the cake and received the gift. What else can I do next?”

Shi Yi felt really happy; he smiled and said, “Let me sing a song since we are at KTV.”

He took the microphone he had refused to take earlier.

He used an English song.

As the music began, Shi Yi moved two steps ahead. As he walked past Yu Zhiyi, he turned his head and whispered in her ear, “Pay attention.”

My love, my darling, I promise to be with you forever.

My baby, my precious, I will love you always.

My darling, my precious, I don’t want to go.

I’ll always be with you. I’m here waiting for you…

The words flew smoothly with the melody, and it seemed he was confessing his love.

Those passionate eyes were shining, like delicate peach blossoms blooming in them.

He looked at the girl in front of him, and his affection could be seen clearly.

The birthday party at KTV ended at 10:30 p.m..

Ke Xue did not want to embarrass herself, so she did not give the expensive gift. 

When Shi Yi sang that song, everyone knew what he was thinking.

Three girls got into one taxi, and Shi Yi’s three roommates got into another.

“Brother Yi, are you going to the dorm tonight?” one of his roommates asked.

Shi Yi waved his hands at them and said honestly, “I’m not going to answer that.”

The roommates gave a teasing look both of them, and Yu Zhiti looked away shyly.

She didn’t feel relaxed until everyone left. And also, she was thinking about how to face Shi Yi alone.

Finally, her secret love was not a secret anymore.

Previously, she thought it was a one-sided love, but to her surprise, she got to know that Shi Yi also had feelings for her.

While she was floating in her own thoughts, Shi Yi grabbed her hand and said, “Let’s walk together.”

They just got to City C and didn’t know much about the area yet. This place was in the city, so they wouldn’t get lost even if they didn’t know the way.

Yu Zhiyi didn’t know the way, because she didn’t see it clearly when she came to the KTV. But she followed Shi Yi without any fear.

They were holding hands and were already very close, but they didn’t talk yet.
