Chapter 47.1

In order to work in peace, Shi Yi rented a house with two rooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom near the company.

Although the house was not big, it was enough to live for two people.

The company was in its start-up stage, and Shi Yi went out early and returned late each day.

Yu Zhiyi, who was alone in the daytime, allocated her time to writing her novels, doing her homework, preparing food, and watering plants. The small house became increasingly lovely beneath her cautious course of action.

While video-chatting with her friends, Qiao Lezhi yelled joyfully after seeing the house. 

“Wow! What a cosy house. I want to visit you. Please! Please! Please!”

“You are welcome anytime.” Yu Zhiyi said with a smile.

Wen Tingyu also said, “It looks like you have changed into the role of a young wife.”

Yu Zhiyi: “...”

This sister, who ordinarily didn’t talk much, would occasionally say something stunning.

Qiao Lezhi was very happy interacting with her good friends. She waved her hands at the screen and replied, “Hey, they are going to get hitched, so what’s there to be surprised about? Anyway, they’ve been living together since they were young.”

Hearing her friend’s teasing words, Yu Zhiyi puffed up her cheeks and remained quiet. ‘Hmph!’

‘Hehe… How cute she is!‘ Seeing Yu Zhiyi’s blushing face, Qiao Lezhi laughed aloud. “See, Yiyi can’t stand our jokes. Look at her face. Hehe… I bet Yiyi will get hitched early!” 

Suddenly a male voice abruptly rang out from Yu Zhiyi’s voice chat. “Congratulations in advance; you won the bet.”

Qiao Lezhi recognised the voice they heard and replied, “Yoyo, Brother Yi has talked. So we have nothing to worry about.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t keep you holding up as well long.” Saying that Shi Yi disconnected the video call.

Yu Zhiyi looked at the boy with wide eyes. “Hey, this is my phone.” She couldn’t believe what he had just done. 

Shi Yi grinned and rubbed her head. “I know, but we have to go somewhere.”

Surprised, Yu Zhiyi looked at Shi Yi with an inquiring look. “What’s going on? Where are we going?”

“My mother is coming to City C to see us.”

When Shi Yi got the call, Ning Suya told him specifically that she had already arrived at the station.

“Aunt Ning is here; let’s go, go!” Yu Zhiyi exclaimed. 

Shi Yi scowled, not understanding why his sweetheart was more energised than him.

In Yu Zhiyi’s heart, Ning Suya was more like a mother than Ruan Qing. She was thankful to everybody who treated her earnestly. Hearing Ning Suya come to see them, she felt really happy. 

The two of them went out of the house and took a taxi. Luckily, the train station was nearby, and they arrived in ten minutes.

Ning Suya was outside the station, and when she saw the two kids, her face bloomed like a flower.

Although Ning Suya was in her middle age, she looked like a woman in her twenties. She looked much younger because of her perfectly stylish attire. 

Ning Suya had already visited the two children two times before, but each time she came, she had a different feeling.

“Aunt Ning!” Yu Zhiyi ran towards Ning Suya like a bird with a bright smile.

Ning Suya was too exceptionally delighted to see her, and the two of them embraced each other, looking like a “genuine” mother and daughter.

Shi Yi calmly took the bag from his mother. As a child, he had to know how to be a qualified sack carrier and learn to be imperceptible when necessary.

Ning Suya didn’t look at her son. She held Yu Zhiyi’s hand and said in a loving tone. “I told Shi Yi to send your address. I can find it by myself. Look what he did!”

“It’s way better we come to pick you, Aunt Ning.” 

“Okay, okay, our Yiyi is really sensible.”

The woman and girl strolled forward, talking and giggling. 

Shi Yi touched the bridge of his nose, held the armrest of the bag, and strolled noiselessly behind the two of them.

After a while, he finally heard the mother and girl calling him.
