Absolutely Spoiled - Chapter 48.3

Chapter 48.3
Yu Zhiyi went back to university in September to finish her graduate work.
Shi Yi had to return to Yunyang City in October to take care of certain work.
It was a Wednesday, and Yu Zhiyi was unable to go back with him because of her busy academic schedule.
“Brother, if you have time, please help me check my room to see if there is anything I can use now and bring it over,” she said because she was perfectly ok with Shi Yi going through her personal belongings.

Ning Suya was very happy to hear her son’s visit at home, so she prepared a table of delicious food to welcome Shi Yi.
She couldn’t help nagging Shi Yi throughout the whole meal, reminding him to take good care of himself.
After the meal, Shi Yi went to Yu Zhiyi’s bedroom and saw everything was the same as it had been before. He selected a few items that he believed would be helpful for Yu Zhiyi and stored them to take back with him.
He took a seat in front of Yu Zhiyi’s desk and opened the drawer, revealing all of the dispersed stars, a palm-sized mirror, and key chains she had previously used. All of them were objects that hold memories.
After organising her belongings, he unlocked the door on the opposite side. A locked code book was placed in the drawer’s innermost section. It was a birthday present he gave her. He realised this book would be very important to Yu Zhiyi as she placed it in such a place.
He took out the book and looked at it for a few seconds before pressing the secret code that he just guessed: 111. With a light click sound, the lock was opened.
“This guy… With a password that is easy to guess, what in the world is she trying to lock?”
However, Shi Yi’s smile faded as soon as he opened the notebook and saw what was written within.
Yu Zhiyi’s diary was divided into sections rather than a long and extensive description.
It seemed as though she would sometimes recall something and would scribble down her thoughts hurriedly, yet each sentence was heartbreaking.
“Brother, I’ll be obedient. Don’t be angry with me.”
“I tried to finish the meal Auntie Ning made, but I felt so uncomfortable.”
“I became ugly.”
“He said I was cute and worthy of being loved.”
“Don’t bring trouble to others; don’t be a burden. I’m really useless.”
“I love this home so much.”
Though there wasn’t much text, each word conveyed her state of mind at that moment.
The name “Shi Yi” appeared about once every three words in a sentence.
The final line was, “Brother, please save me.”
At that time, the girl who was stuck in the quagmire asked him for help again.
Luckily, fifteen-year-old Shi Yi made the right decision and grabbed her hand soon away!
Shi Yi finished his business and left. He didn’t go straight to City C but to their hometown, where he lived when he was a child.
More than ten years had passed, and with the economic development of the country, the old town seemed to have turned into a developed city. The original muddy roads have been replaced by buildings.
However, the small courtyard that was once full of memories was still there. When Shi Yi walked to the gate of the courtyard, the people in the courtyard saw him at a glance.
“Whose relative is this? Who are you looking for?”
Shi Yi recognised the middle-aged woman and called out, “Aunt Yang, I’m Shi Yi.”
When Yu Zhiyi encountered trouble, Aunt Yang called him to inform him of the situation. He had never forgotten that and was grateful for her.
“Oh, Shi Yi has grown up so much…”
This was not a city where no one knew the next-door neighbours; here all the neighbours have a good connection with each other.
Shi Yi quickly made his way to Yu Zhiyi’s grandmother’s home.
The elderly woman was lying on a rocking chair, fanning herself with a palm-leaf fan.
“Grandmother…” Shi Yi leaned into the house from the half-closed door and called out.
Hearing the sound, the old woman slowly sat up. She thought she was hallucinating. She looked at the door a few times before recognising who was at the door.
“It’s Xiaoyi!” Grandma’s face immediately bloomed with a big smile.
Shi Yi spent the entire day that day quietly accompanying the elderly woman, and before he left, he borrowed something from the grandmother.
“You must love her more,” Grandmother said. Her eyes were full of tears when she gave that thing to the boy. “That child suffered a lot when she was little.”
“I will prove it with practical actions. Thank you, Grandma!” he replied calmly.
Have a nice day!
