Absolutely Spoiled - Chapter 48.4

Chapter 48.4
The winter season had just begun.
As Yu Zhiyi’s twenty-second birthday was approaching, her friends, who lived far away, sent her gifts in advance.
They all wanted to meet Yu Zhiyi in person so they could have a meal together. Although they were not able to meet on the same day because of their busy lives, they would eventually meet soon.
Yu Zhiyi repeatedly said in the group that it was okay, and then the group of young people understood that they were no longer free as they were children.
Yu Zhiy discussed with Shi Yi going out for a meal with her friend, who still lived in City C, but Shi Yi hesitated for a rare moment.
“Maybe the situation will change by then. Or maybe I need to take a day off.”
Before, Shi Yi would tell her to “wait for me to arrange it,” but now he would tell her that it might be considerate.
‘Request a leave of absence? It’s only my 22nd birthday, so why create a big deal about it?’ Yu Zhiyi felt a little uneasy.
“Don’t worry about it, brother. It’s just my 22nd birthday.”
“Well, no trouble.” He gave a verbal agreement.
Shi Yi gave a present to Yu Zhiyi on the night before her 22nd birthday. It was a picture album.
“You can open it in advance,” Shi Yi said with a soft smile.
However, Yu Zhiyi had a strong taste for ritualistic things. She joyfully hugged the gift and asked, “Can I wait until midnight to open it?”
With a shake of his head, Shi Yi said to her in a serious tone, “There’s no need to wait till twelve. Open it now because I’ll give you another more valuable gift.”
‘Since there is a better gift, this is it…’ Yu Zhiyi couldn’t control her curiosity after Shi Yi’s words, so she quickly removed the thin, transparent protective layer on the gift, revealing a wide and thick picture album.
This album was not like the others. Each page featured a three-dimensional cartoon image created on vibrant paper that exudes warmth.
Though the gift was magnificent, it didn’t seem like something the 22-year-old Shi Yi would give her.
Girls’ sixth sense was often very accurate.
She carefully turned the pages, and the anime images evoke happy memories.
The characters’ heights, hairstyles, and outfits changed frequently as they matured from childhood. There were always two protagonists in each painting, and they were never apart, just like them.
She was about to turn the final page, and Shi Yi quickly held the girl’s hand.
Yu Zhiyi expressed her doubts.
Shi Yi looked at Yu Zhiyi very seriously and said to her, “I put something on the last page.”
“What?”
“I can’t tell you what it is now, but once you open it, you must accept it.” He gave her a warm reminder and even offered her a second choice: “You can also choose not to open it.”
Yu Zhiyi twitched his lips and replied, “Brother, you are too cunning. You told me this at this point, so how could I not open it?”
Moreover, no matter what Shi Yi gave her, she would accept it! There was no doubt about this.
“Brother, move aside; I want to see the gift,” Yu Zhiyi said, poking the back of Shi Yi’s hand with her other hand. After seeing the gift, she could decide what to do.
With his gaze fixed on her hands, Shi Yi appeared uncertain and repeated his request for confirmation, saying, “If you open it, you must accept it!”
Yu Zhiyi was at first very calm, but after hearing Shi Yi’s words, she started to get tense. She gave him a short glance before grabbing the book once more.
A three-dimensional picture of two individuals holding hands appeared when the last page opened, and in the middle there was a shining ring.
“Yiyi, let’s get married.”
“I…”
She hesitated for a moment, and the young man began to get nervous. “We agreed just now that if you open it, you must accept it.”
Listening to his words, Yu Zhiyi shook her head with disbelief.
Before she could speak, Shi Yi couldn’t wait to reveal all his thoughts to her. “Do you think it’s a bit early now? But this is definitely not an impulse. Since I can remember, you have been part of my life plan.” He looked into the girl’s eyes. “Although I hadn’t thought about how we would get along in the future, from the moment I got together with you, I was sure that I wanted to marry you. I will only marry you.”
When he was a child, he only knew that he had a little sister, and he wanted to always keep this sister by his side, play with her, and protect her.
When he grew up, he fell in love with that girl, and having set his mind on her, he wanted to hold on to her tightly and never let go!
“Yiyi, you must believe me,” Shi Yi said, taking her palm and pressing it softly to his heart.
His heart beated for her with sincerity and passion.
“I didn’t say no.” Yu Zhiyi laughed suddenly, with tears sparkling in her eyes. “You know, I’m just a little slow to react, from the beginning. But when it comes to trusting you and loving you, there is never any need to doubt.”
“Here with Yiyi, Shi Yi will never lose,” the young man said after hugging his girl.
Like before, she would support the young man wholeheartedly and have faith in his bravery even when others questioned his failure!
When the clock struck twelve, they were about to have another identity.

Shi Yi went with Yu Zhiyi to ask Yu Zhiyi’s tutor for a leave of absence on her 22nd birthday.
“Teacher, we are going to get the marriage certificate today,” Shi Yi said as she handed over a bag of wedding candies in response to the teacher’s question.
The pen in the instructor’s hand fell on the desk as he asked, “Did I hear it right?”
Those two were 22 years old, so there was nothing to be surprised by the instructor’s action.
“Let me have some tea to calm me down.” The instructor muttered to himself but finally signed the slip.
There were young adults who were capable of taking responsibility for themselves, so after realising it, the instructor accepted the wedding candy and personally escorted them out of the school gate, saying, “Bless you, young people.”

“Brother, many people have lined up early to get their marriage certificates.”
Shi Yi held her hand tightly and said firmly, “Sooner or later, Yu Zhiyi will become Shi Yi’s wife today!”
Shi Yi had already memorised the process of obtaining a marriage certificate by heart.
The staff asked specific enquiries after noticing the two people’s ages, yet their responses were firm and consistent.
“The ring is not a birthday present for your 22nd birthday; this is it,” Shi Yi whispered in Yu Zhiy’s ear as soon as the staff gave them the two red certificates.
With the crimson book in her hand, Yu Zhiyi said with a big smile, “This is the best gift I have ever received.”
The two of them looked at the marriage certificate for a while before going out of the Civil Affairs Bureau.
Before taking two steps, the new wife felt something strange, and she quickly looked at the sky.
‘Wow!’ Pure white snowflakes fluttered down. “It’s the first snow of the year,” Yu Zhiyi was delighted.
According to legend, the first snow was a sign of pure love, and couples who witnessed it together were granted divine blessings.
“Shi Yi, do you know which season I like best?” The snowflakes fell into her palm and melted into water as she stretched out to capture them.
Shi Yi turned to face forward. His pupils glimmering an enticing light as his peach blossom eyes curled into a crescent form. “Is it now?”
Reaching out, the girl encircled the boy’s neck with her arms and stood on tiptoe. “It’s summer.” Her soft lips sealed the boy’s lips.
‘That summer, there was a heartbeat, preference, and the young man who was by my side.’
*Postscript*
The novel, which had been serialised for almost six years, was finally updated to the last chapter in the summer of Yu Zhiyi and Shi Yi’s second year of marriage.
“Meeting someone you want to spend the rest of your life with early on is something to be proud of!”
Everybody’s blessing was expressed in a different way, and the number of remarks for the conclusion rose more quickly than the comments for any other chapter. The comment section later erupted once more.
