Absolutely Spoiled - Chapter 50.3

Chapter 50.3 – After Marriage
Yu Zhiyi, who unconsciously displayed her excellent cooking skills, quickly became familiar with the people in the kitchen. Noticing how delicious the dishes were, they highly praised our little chef.
When Shi Yi entered the kitchen, he noticed that his young wife was succeeding more than he thought.
“Shi Yi, that’s amazing! We are really fortunate that your wife cooks so deliciously.”
Earlier, they were envious of Shi Yi’s skill and appearance, but now they were envious of his early marriage.
“I became aware of it at the beginning. Their last names are not the same, and I’m not sure who first said they were brother and sister.”
Yu Zhiyi turned her head and gave Shi Yi a strange look when this topic was brought up. ‘Wasn’t it him who spread the news back then? These people don’t know how to talk, and they just point out his shortcomings.’
Shi Yi took Yu Zhiyi’s hand and gently cleansed it, saying, “My baby is not here to cook for you.”
She was not a member of their class, so Shi Yi thought his wife didn’t need to do such things.
“Brother Yi, our sister-in-law is truly remarkable; we all admire her,” nearly everyone in the kitchen pleaded. “We did cutting and washing dishes, so we didn’t let her suffer. Please be considerate and let our sister-in-law cook.”
Everyone said it in a friendly manner.
What they stated didn’t matter to Shi Yike. “Are you tired?” he enquired softly as he pulled Yu Zhiyi away.
Yu Zhiyi: “It’s okay; it’s really not tiring. I’ll just cook some food, and everyone else will rush to do the rest.”
Upon hearing that, Shi Yi just let her do as she liked.

Quickly, the delicious food was out of fire and served on the table. As soon as the dishes were placed on the table, a tasty aroma spread all over the house, making everyone mouth-watering.
“Today’s Manchu-Han banquet is thanks to the contributions of our kitchen staff.”
[TL: Manchu-Han banquet refers to a culinary technique and style of large feast that was created during the Qing period of China (1644–1912) and combines elements from Manchu and Han Chinese cuisine.]
“But I have to thank someone in particular… It was Yu Zhiyi, who belongs to Brother Yi’s family, who really helped us,” someone said, gesturing to Yu Zhiyi.
Everyone applauded and showered her with admiration.
On the other hand, Jiang Yu Ran’s expression changed upon seeing Yu Zhiyi in person. Despite her recent intense work schedule, she decided to give it a shot when she learnt that Shi Yi would be attending a class reunion. She was relieved to see that Shi Yi was alone, but she hadn’t anticipated that… Shi Yi married young.
At first, everyone thought that they were just a very good couple and bought rings and called each other partners. But it turned out that they had already obtained a marriage certificate and were a legally recognised couple.
It was a beautiful story for them, but an irreversible regret for her.
During the feast, men took out several bottles of wine, beer, and other types of alcohol.
“Brother Yi, come on, have a drink.”
Shi Yi knew if he drank one glass, he would have to drink more. It was not that Shi Yi couldn’t drink, but now he thought of asking his wife’s permission. “Can I drink today, Mrs. Shi?”
Yu Zhiyi’s lips twisted slightly at being addressed by Shi Yi in public like that. She gave a small nod of “Okay.”
Shi Yi had a nice time with the boys and made friends over wine with the approval of his young wife.
Somehow Jiang Yuran and Yu Zhiyi sat together.
“I never thought that you would be the biggest love rival of girls,” Jiang Yuran suddenly said with a sigh. “Everyone wanted to satisfy you and be nearer to Shi Yi at that time, treating you as Shi Yi’s sister.”
After a brief period of silence, Yu Zhiyi enquired, “Does it include you?”
“Yes.” Jiang Yuran narrowed her eyes and replied. Now, she freely acknowledged the emotions that her pride had prevented her from expressing.
Upon facing such a frank rival, Yu Zhiyi was not that generous. She looked into Jiang Yuran’s eyes and said firmly, “He is mine.” Those few words were more powerful than any long sentence.
Jiang Yuran, who didn’t expect such a powerful response from Yu Shiyi, became a little irritated. “What is the purpose of your words? Everybody has their own carefree and impressionable years. Those incidents have already happened.”
“Back then, you made Shi Yi’s friends regard me as an obstacle, making them think that I was pestering Shi Yi and making Shi Yi draw a clear line with them,” Yu Zhiyi replied slowly, shaking her head. “I already knew that from the beginning, and I have never forgotten it. You thought that by catering to his choices, you could get closer to him. But you never thought that he was Shi Yi.”
Yu Zhiyi believed that if someone loved someone truly, that person would not push the other into a pit.
Jiang Yuran: “Is that what you thought at the time?”
Yu Zhiyi: “Yes.”
Jiang Yuran: “I really want to know why you were so sure that he would choose you without hesitation.”
“Because he won’t let me lose!” Yu Zhiyi firmly believed this.
When Jiang Yuran reopened her eyes after closing them, her mental condition seemed to shift. This time, she gazed at Yu Zhiyi with a soft expression on her face, as if she had let go of her wishful thinking and was blessing the young couple.
“You are so lucky,” Jiang Yuran whispered.
Afterwards, the two separated tacitly and returned to their original positions.
Yu Zhiyi knew that Shi Yi had been drinking a lot since she could smell it as soon as she sat back next to him. “Brother, drink less,” she would murmur to Shi Yi as she leaned in close to his ear, but she would not stop him in front of others.
Shi Yi turned his head and smiled at her without uttering a word.
This class reunion became more interesting than expected. Some people reunited their old friendships, and more realistically, some people expanded their network of contacts through it.
Even though Li Shaozhou had previously taken away Jiang Mier’s wine bottle, she continued to drink.
Though Yu Zhiyi hadn’t touched a drop of wine, the man beside her was reeking of wine.
“Brother, are you drunk?” Yu Zhiyi continued to ask him on the walk home.
With a bent head, Shi Yi laid on his wife’s shoulder. His warm breath hit her delicate neck. “Drunk,” he said in a deep voice.
Hearing that word, Yu Zhiyi felt a shiver all over her body. She knew what exactly would happen today.
Shi Yi got even more dishonest when his parents were away from home. He used being drunk as an excuse to coax his little wife over.
Yu Zhiyi just went into the bathroom to give Shi Yi a bathrobe but ended up getting soaked.
“Shi Yi!” When the little wife got angry, she would call him by his full name.
“Didn’t Yiyi say that it’s understandable for a drunk person to do something different than usual?” He always used the same words to trap her, and Yu Zhiyi never got the chance to decline.
The warm light in the bathroom was generating heat, and the person standing inside in a sweater and jacket felt their entire body temperature rising. Yu Zhiyi’s breathing became heavier. “The heating lamp is on here. It’s so hot. I’m leaving first. Leave.”
She wanted to leave, but Shi Yi held her hand and said, “Didn’t YiYi say that you would take good care of me?”
He guided her patiently, and Yu Zhiyi’s body followed his lead.
When they were honest with each other, Shi Yi lowered his head and whispered in her ear, “Good girl, open up.”
