Chapter 58.2 -Tingyu x Luobai 4

Qiu Huiyi was entirely calm by the time Shen Luobai prepared the water and medication again. She stopped uttering gibberish and kept her mouth shut. Upon seeing the medication her son had brought her, she accepted it without question.

The water stains on the bed had not yet dried. Qiu Huiyi pressed her palm there, recalling the trouble she had caused when she became ill. Her eyes were full of sadness when she said, “Luobai, I want to go back to the village.”

“Mom, don’t talk about this anymore.”

“I’m so useless. Others are parents who take care of their children, but I’m causing trouble for you.”

When Qiu Huiyi was awake, her misery was greater than when she was ill. When she was in her right mind, she always thought about her son’s miserable life. She felt she was a burden to her son, and she even said she wanted to return to the village, but Shen Luobai would refuse every time.

She attempted to work odd jobs to make money when she first arrived in the city, but she was unable to manage her sickness. Not only did she not make any money, but she also damaged other people’s things and had to pay compensation. So she understood that it was not a wise thing to go outside and cause more trouble for her son.

She knew that the child was very filial, but there was nothing she could do except ask him to lock herself in the room.

After Qiu Huiyi recovered, she couldn’t sit still. She looked at the time and went to do housework.

Shen Luobai would not stop her because this was one of the few things Qiu Huiyi could do.

Dark clouds drifted over the window, the sky grew progressively gloomier, and soon it was raining heavily.

The phone began to vibrate.

When Shen Luobai picked it up, he recognised the person who was calling, even though he hadn’t saved the number.

“Shen Luobai, it’s raining heavily. Can you come pick me up?” Even though she had plenty of options for hiding from the pouring rain, she insisted on contacting him.

Her goal was obvious.

Hearing that, Qiu Huiyi did not ask any more questions and only reminded Shen Luobai to be careful.

Her son always had his own things to do, and she didn’t interfere with them.

Shen Luobai grabbed the large umbrella at the door and grabbed another one just as he was ready to shut the door.

Wen Tingyu had just come out of the hospital and called Shen Luobai.

After getting the man’s response, she waited for him to come.

A man yelled Wen Tingyu’s name as she was standing at the hospital door.

Unconsciously, Wen Tingyu glanced over and noticed he was the nephew of the patient next bed.

He had an umbrella in his hand. “Don’t you have an umbrella?” he asked nonchalantly as he noticed her waiting at the door with only a tiny bag slung over her shoulder.

“Yeah.” Wen Tingyu gave a nod.

The dude looked really serious and expressed his helpfulness. “I’m carrying an umbrella. Let me take you to the side of the road so you can hail a cab.”

Wen Tingyu declined, shaking her head, saying, “Thank you; no need to bother.”

“Hey, don’t worry about it. Your father and my second uncle are friends. It’s not a big deal.” The man knew he had no destiny with this beautiful girl, but he was willing to be friends with her.

This was the scene Shen Luobai saw when he hurried over with an umbrella.

A man and a woman stood facing each other at the entrance of the hospital, talking.

Shen Luobai was coming behind Wen Tingyu, so she didn’t see him coming.

From this direction, Shen Luobai could just see the man’s smiling face, and he felt the communication between the two seemed very pleasant.

He felt so upset that he even sped up his pace unconsciously.

“Wen Tingyu.”

Hearing the familiar voice, Wen Tingyu turned around.

Seeing Shen Luobai, the man who was talking with Wen Tingyu understood something, stopped disturbing them, waved at her, and left.

Shen Luobai’s mood improved slightly as a result.

“Why do you seem not very happy?” Wen Tingyu questioned slowly as she turned to face him, leaned forward a little, and looked into his eyes.

Shen Luobai retreated a little.

Although Wen Tingyu usually had no scary look on her eyes, when she stared at the man seriously, he got scared of revealing his true feelings.

Shen Luo didn’t say much and directly handed over the unwet umbrella in his hand. “Umbrella.”

Wen Tingyu didn’t expect that the man would bring two umbrellas.

“I like the one you’re holding better,” she hinted, glancing at the large black umbrella in the man’s hand.

Shen Luobai actually handed the big black umbrella to her directly.

Wen Tingyu snorted and laughed, saying, “I didn’t realise you were quite good at pampering people.”

Shen Luobai: “…??”

Without wasting time, Wen Tingyu went directly under the big black umbrella and pressed her body against his. “I don’t want to hold an umbrella, so let’s go like this.”

“You will get wet in the rain.”

“Can’t you see I want to be closer to you?”

“Don’t waste your time on me.”

“Anything you want to do is not a waste of time.”

Wen Tingyu didn’t respond. She had heard that so many times.
