Absolutely Spoiled - Chapter 62.3

Chapter 62.3 – Tingyu x Luobai 8
Wen Tingyu uploaded a full-body photo of her to her social media account.
Qiao Lezhi was a supporter of her friends. No matter who posted something, she would like it and comment on it. This one was no exception. [Wow, where did this beauty come from? She is so pretty. Sister, please PM me. Sister, I like it! ]
Qiao Lezhi recently changed her profile picture to a cool black one. Her online name was the English name of a male celebrity, and others would think she was a male.
However, when Jiang Mier joined the fun with Qiao Lezhi, she became a drama queen. [The one upstairs, our sister Tingyu is very capable in both the living room and the kitchen. It is definitely worth pursuing her! ]
Qiao Lezhi: [Thank you for your encouragement. I have already bought the flowers and will send them to my sister.]
Not only that, she also posted a picture of flowers.
A lot of folks would see this kind of chat as just for fun, but that didn’t mean everyone would think like that.
“Luobai, what are you staring at? The supervisor is looking for you.”
“Got it, thanks.” The young man who usually spoke based on his mood finally put on a professional face. He wouldn’t just brush off what anyone said anymore; he’d actually respond appropriately.
Shen Luobai put his phone away and headed out.
Once Shen Luobai was gone, his coworkers started whispering, “Hey, what do you think the supervisor wanted with him?”
“Not sure. Maybe it’s to reward him.”
“He’s really something else. He’s done twice the work of everyone else in no time.”
“Yeah, some people just have all the luck.” One colleague felt a twinge of envy but, knowing his own skills decided to just keep grinding, “Oh well, I can’t be as sharp as him, so I’ll just put in more hours and boost my performance.”
Shen Luobai was a fresh face at the company. At first, everyone thought he was too young to handle the tough grind of sales.
But he surprised everyone by proving them wrong. Not only did he tackle all the challenges head-on, but he also kept pushing to grow the business every single day, as if he had an endless supply of energy.
While others were just meeting the basic targets, he consistently outperformed them, earning the respect of even the seasoned pros in the field.
When he met with his supervisor, he received the praise he was hoping for.
The supervisor was really impressed with his skills and had high expectations for him. “Luobai, you’ve done an outstanding job. I can increase your bonus next month.”
“Thanks, sir.”
In this tough and realistic world, jobs were often ranked by skill level. The more talented you were, the more you would earn, creating a positive feedback loop.
“Luobai, the higher-ups are considering transferring you to a different location, which would come with a promotion and a pay raise.”
“Sorry, but I need to stay here.”
After Shen Luobai left, his supervisor remained in the office, thinking about the young man. ‘What a promising young man, yet he seemed drained, almost like he had turned himself into a money-making machine, trapped by various obligations.’
He remembered back in September when Wen Bin introduced Shen Luobai to the company. Shen Luobai turned down that “kind offer” because he was set on pursuing a career in sales.
It was a field with a lot of potential, but it also had a stark divide between the top earners and everyone else.
To make a living, he transformed himself quite a bit. He used to be reserved, but now he would chat easily with clients. He never drank before, but now he could gulp down a whole case with clients just to seal the deal.
Just like today, while others were enjoying their Christmas celebrations, he was out drinking until 11 PM to get a client’s signature, only to end up in the restroom, throwing up repeatedly.
He only then realized he had a pretty solid tolerance for alcohol; the more he drank, the clearer he felt.
Eventually, the customer happily signed the contract, sealing another deal for him and a nice commission on the way.
Shen Luobai sent others off to their car but chose to walk instead of grabbing a taxi. He leaned against a tree, feeling like he might throw up.
The cool night breeze helped clear his mind a bit, as if it was sifting through his memories and leaving only the most significant ones behind.
Suddenly, he picked up the pace and dashed toward a nearby phone booth, stepping inside without a second thought.
On Christmas Eve, Wen Tingyu got a peculiar phone call.
The person on the other end didn’t say a word or hang up. Maybe it was just her imagination, but she could almost hear the wind outside starting to hum, creating a soft evening breeze melody.
Unfortunately, the winter breeze was pretty chilly. After a moment of silence, Wen Tingyu found her calm when the caller finally said “Hello.”
Instead of hanging up like it was a prank call, she just waited quietly for what felt like ages. Finally, she parted her lips and softly said, “Merry Christmas.”
‘Merry Christmas… Shen Luobai!’
