Absolutely Spoiled - Chapter 63.2

Chapter 63.2 – Tingyu x Luobai 9
Carol noticed that the guy next to her wasn’t really paying attention to her. So she followed Shen Luobai’s gaze but only saw a bunch of regular people around.
“Hey, Shen, what caught your eye?” she asked curiously.
Shen Luobai calmly looked back at her, saying, “Carol, it’s time for you to head out.”
Carol had a light pink bag with a cute cat design on the silver buckle, which matched her sweet and innocent outfit perfectly.
Instead of getting upset at his indifferent attitude, she played the spoilt child card. “Why are you rushing to send me off? Daddy asked you to pick me up, so you should take me home.”
“That’s not my responsibility,” the man said firmly.
A taxi approached them, and Shen Luobai raised his hand, signalling it to stop.
After the taxi stopped in front of them, he opened the door and stood there.
Thinking the man would get in the taxi with her, Carol hopped in with a grin.
“Bang–”
The door slammed shut, leaving her inside alone.
With a pout, the woman poked her fingers out of the window and leaned her head out. “What if I get into an accident being left here alone?”
“Just call the cops,” Shen Luobai replied, turning away without a second thought.
Watching him walk off, Carol couldn’t help but feel the man had an undeniable charm.
She thought it was interesting that valuable things won’t be achieved easily.

Wen Tingyu and Yu Zhiyi headed in opposite directions.
“Catch you later.”
Yu Zhiyi waved, and once Wen Tingyu was out of sight, she pulled out her phone and called Shi Yi, “Hey, brother, I’ll be waiting by the roadside; it’s close to the bus stop.”
After a while, a familiar car appeared and parked beside her.
Yu Zhiyi hopped into the passenger seat.
Shi Yi had one hand on the steering wheel, tapping it lightly. “Why didn’t you let me come there? Why make me wait here? Am I so shameless?”
“Not at all.” Yu Zhiyi fastened her seatbelt.
Shi Yi turned to her side and checked whether Yu Zhiyi had fastened the seatbelt properly.
“Tingyu is pretty sensitive. I don’t want her overthinking things,” Yu Zhiyi replied. “It’s not that I’m worried about Wen Tingyu misunderstanding anything, but seeing others so cheerful when she is not in the best mood could really bring her down. “
Shi Yi ran his fingers through her hair and said, “Alright, let’s put this behind us.”

After saying goodbye to Yu Zhiyi, Wen Tingyu called Wen Bin and said, “I might head to Mom’s place tonight, and I won’t be home for dinner.”
Wen Bin didn’t really mind these things, so he was pretty laid-back about it.
She dug into her handbag, pulled out a key that had been gathering dust for ages, and slid it into the lock. A quick twist later, the door swung open.
Fast forward six months and everything in the house looked just as she had left it. There were only two keys to this place, and she didn’t need to check to know where the other one was.
The fridge was empty, and Wen Tingyu was feeling too lazy to cook, so she just ordered some takeout online.
About half an hour later, just as she finished placing her order, there was a knock at the door.
“We’re here to inspect the household circuits and equipment for safety reasons.”
After verifying the man’s identity and confirming he was from property management, she let him in. The man checked the circuits and asked a few basic questions before heading out.
Twenty minutes later, she got a call that her takeout was ready downstairs.
The main entrance to the community had security, but each building had a side door.
Wen Tingyu dashed downstairs as soon as she got the call. Just as she grabbed the bag from the delivery guy, it hit her—she had left the key back in the house, on the table. It seemed she accidentally locked herself out of the house.
Fortunately, she didn’t forget to bring her phone.
Wen Tingyu was chilling on a bench inside, the iron gate downstairs firmly shut, with a takeaway box sitting next to her.
After pondering for a while, she unlocked the phone, and instead of scrolling through contacts, she typed in a string of numbers one by one.
After about ten seconds of ringing, she felt his heart racing, not quite as composed as she seemed.
Seventeen seconds later…
It connected.
There was silence on the other end. Holding the phone to her ear, Wen Tingyu spoke calmly, “I left my keys at home and locked myself out.”
The female voice that he heard was like a familiar tune he’d heard countless times. In those brief moments of quiet, the man’s emotions surged more than ever.
“Wait for me to come back.”
Their conversation flowed easily as if they had never been apart.
Meanwhile, Shen Luobai burst out of the building, startling his coworkers.
“Oh my god, who’s sprinting like that?”
Someone shouted, “Was that Shen Luobai just now?”
****
‘That bowl of rice is probably getting pretty cold…she thought.
Wen Tingyu’s phone’s battery was almost dead, and it would shut down completely after a short time.
And then, it powered off.
On his way, Shen Luobai got a call from the hospital, saying that Qiu Huiyi was sick and wanted to see her son. He tried calling Wen Tingyu again, but her phone was off.
He had sacrificed a lot for his mom.
Including that girl.
But this time…
He just wanted to be a little selfish, if only for a moment…
The car pulled to the community gate, and Shen Luobai jumped out and dashed inside. He placed the key in the sensor and pushed the gate open.
Finally, he reached the building where Wen Tingyu lived, and just as he arrived, Wen Tingyu turned around.
Their eyes met, and they both felt an electric shock passing through them.
