Chapter 65.2 – Tingyu x Luobai 11

Carol was a rich spoiled girl, who had everything at the tip of her fingertips. 

Usually, men were all over her, and this was the first time she had actually made a move on someone. But after a few tries, she found it hard to hook the man on her web.

She stepped in front of Shen Luobai as he was leaving the office and asked, “Shen Luobai, how about you be my boyfriend?” 

“I have a girlfriend.” 

“About that girlfriend…you can just end things with her.” She remembered a woman had picked up the last time she called him, but she didn’t dig into it. One reason was that she didn’t have a title, and the other was that she simply didn’t care. 

Shen Luobai responded, “My current girlfriend is going to be my wife someday.”

That clearly meant he wasn’t going to break up with his girlfriend. Not now, and not ever. 

Carol didn’t buy it. ‘These days, couples would break up and have new relationships every day. Who stayed together forever?’

With her head held high and confidence shining in her eyes, she said, “If you’re with me, my dad can help you out with resources. At the pace you’re going, I don’t know how long it’ll take for you to make a real breakthrough. I’m my dad’s only daughter. Stick with me, and you can leave your current struggles behind.” 

She knew he was lacking money and wanted to climb the ladder. She had everything he was after, and she could give it to him. 

Plenty of guys wanted to use her name to get ahead, but she wasn’t about to give those fake players a chance.

“Carol, does your dad know you’re into stealing other people’s boyfriends?” Wen Tingyu popped out from around the corner.  

“Wen Tingyu!” Carol nearly jumped out of her skin when she spotted the woman.  

Wen Tingyu strolled over to Shen Luobai and grabbed his hand right in front of Carol. Shen Luobai responded by intertwining their fingers.  

Carol’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Are you Shen Luobai’s girlfriend?”  

“Can’t you see it,” Wen Tingyu replied.  

“…”  

As Carol fell silent, she felt her teeth grinding together.  

She was familiar with Wen Tingyu, not exactly friends, but they knew each other since their dads had always been in touch.  

They were both in the same upper class, so they met occasionally on special occasions.  

Wen Tingyu usually seemed pretty chill, but when she wanted something, no one could take it from her.  

Carol thought she was out of luck for chasing a guy into Wen Tingyu’s territory. “Whatever, he’s just a guy. I don’t even want him anymore.”  

“Who said you get to decide?” Wen Tingyu shot back, clearly annoyed with Carol’s attitude.  

“Even if you’re letting go, you shouldn’t act like this.”  

Wen Tingyu made a mental note of Carol’s behaviour, and a few days later, Carol found herself facing a little consequence.  

Shen Luobai was surprised to learn that Carol knew Wen Tingyu, but it made sense when he thought about it.  

He already knew that the head of this company was connected to Wen Bin.  

Shen Luobai mentioned, “At the end of summer break, Uncle Wen came to see me, but I turned him down.”

Now he realised that his work was able to move forward smoothly thanks to Wen Bin’s support.  

Wen Tingyu had made a deal with her dad, so Wen Bin wasn’t about to go back on it. But Shen Luobai wasn’t the type to take advantage of someone, so he needed to find another way to help ease his burdens.  

Wen Tingyu didn’t agree with her father to end things with Shen Luobai, so she’s back now.  

It was a good thing things have turned out this way.  

“Talented people just need the right chance. Think of it as finding a mentor,” Wen Tingyu said, and her words were pretty spot on.  

She encouraged Shen Luobai to embrace the opportunities coming his way. “Everything you have now is because of your own skills.”  

Shen Luobai looked down, then to the side, and asked, “What about you?”  

“Hmm?” Wen Tingyu was sorting through her thoughts when Shen Luobai threw her a curveball.  

She took a moment, then quickly met his gaze and replied clearly, “That includes me.”  

‘Because I’m drawn to your charm, I’ll chase after you no matter what.’
