Absolutely Spoiled - Chapter 66.1

Chapter 66.1 – Shi Yi’s First Life
[Authors Notes: The stories about past lives are all just for entertainment.]
Yiyi was a red thread fairy.
The concept of red thread immortality was a quirky tale from the heavens.
Yue Lao, the god of marriage, used red strings to connect couples.
One day, while enjoying a drink, he accidentally tied the wrong red thread, which led to the birth of a Red Thread Fairy. This was a unique opportunity! The fairy trained with Yue Lao for a thousand years and transformed into a little girl. Recognising her intelligence, Yue Lao decided to take her on as his apprentice.
Eventually, he realised that this little disciple had her advantages.
In the past, people had to tie their own marriage threads, but now, with the marriage book written, it goes directly to the young apprentice, who ties the red thread.
Yue Lao, who loved his wine, invited Siming Xingjun to join him.
[Tl: – Siming Xingjun, also known as the Old Man of the South Pole or the God of Longevity, is a well-known figure in Chinese culture. He is a strongman in the Celestial Court who decides how long people will live.
According to Chinese culture, the Jade Emperor rules over the celestial court, also called Tin Ting 天庭, which is the divine domain where deities reside.]
After a few drinks, the immortal felt a bit tipsy.
Siming Xingjun quickly waved his hand, warning, “An immortal has come down to earth for some trials lately. If you keep drinking, you might get into trouble.”
Suddenly, a little girl with two buns tied with red ropes popped up, holding a bunch of marriage threads. She asked earnestly, “Does that Immortal Lord need a marriage partner now?”
Yiyi found that the more red ropes she tied, the faster her cultivation grew! Even though her spiritual energy seemed small compared to these gods, it was a huge advantage for her.
Siming Xingjun also knew about a little fairy named Hongxian in Yue Lao Palace, who was a very adorable girl. Unfortunately, that immortal wasn’t trying to deal with emotional challenges, so he didn’t need a marriage line.
Siming Xingjun couldn’t explain everything, so he smiled, put down his wine glass, and didn’t respond.
Yiyi felt uneasy.
She remembered one time an immortal came down to earth. Her master told her to tie the marriage thread herself, and her spiritual power skyrocketed—one day of training was like a hundred years!
So when she overheard Lord Siming mention that the immortal was about to come, she felt excited. If she could help tie the red string, that would be amazing!
While Yue Lao was tipsy and napping, she headed to the path where the immortal would arrive, waiting for her chance. After some time, she finally felt the presence of an immortal.
Wearing a moon-white robe, he looked stunning, with a graceful figure. His eyes were like spring blossoms.
Yiyi suddenly found the courage to ask him, “Are you the immortal coming to the mortal world for trials?”
The Immortal King looked down at Yiyi. “Red Thread Fairy?” he mused, a bit surprised. There was a gentle smile in his eyes as he asked, “How are you?”
His friendly attitude made Yiyi’s eyes sparkle with excitement.
She was eager to take advantage of the chance to enhance her skills, so she hurried to the Immortal Lord and pulled out a bunch of red thread, saying, “Immortal Lord, do you need this red thread for tying the knot?”
The Immortal King looked a bit surprised but then chuckled. “Did Yue Lao ask you to tie the marriage thread for me?”
Yiyi shook her head. “Nope, I came here on my own.”
Even though she could create a red string, it couldn’t just be tied by anyone; it had to be for someone whose name was in the marriage book. She was here to gather more information for a future task. “Oh no!” Just as she was about to explain, something unexpected happened.
‘The Star Lord of Destiny has arrived! The Star Lord of Destiny is super powerful, and if he spots us, it would be trouble.’
She quickly transformed into a red rope and wrapped around the Immortal King’s wrist.
The Immortal stared at the extra red on his wrist. His charming eyes slightly crinkled while he covered the red rope with his other hand.
Luckily, Lord Siming didn’t notice anything off and handed the Immortal Lord a bell. “This bell will be your companion and will be linked to your fate in every life.”
The Immortal Lord bowed and said, “Thanks, Star Lord Siming.”
As they approached the Heavenly Gate, the Immortal Lord’s gaze fell on the red rope on his wrist. “You can leave now.”
Yiyi tried to sneak away but then realised… her spiritual consciousness was sealed, and she couldn’t revert back!
“My Lord, the moment has arrived,” said the guards of Tianmen as they opened the barrier.
[Tl: “Tianmen” (天门), which means “Heaven’s Gate”, is a term used in Chinese culture to describe a portal that connects the heavens and the earth.]
Yiyi was still frantically calling out, “Master, please help me!”
But her cries went unheard.
The immortal looked troubled; despite his spell, the red thread remained tightly bound to him, as if it were a part of him.
Eventually, the Tianmen barrier shut, and the Red Thread Fairy vanished along with the Immortal King.
Back at the Heavenly Palace, Lord Siming noticed something strange with the Heavenly Book. He cast a spell and suddenly saw an additional line appear on it – marriage.
Have a nice day!
