Absolutely Spoiled - Chapter 67.3

Chapter 67.3 – Shi Yi’s Second Life
However, the good times did not last long.
There was an invasion on the border, and the general was ordered to go to war.
The situation was critical and even the nanny got the news.
Yu Zhiyi, who was making embroidery, heard that the general was leading his troops to war. She pricked her finger with the embroidery needle and a drop of red blood came out.
Shi Yi once went to the battlefield with his father.
She wanted to find Shi Yi, but as the four high walls had trapped her, she could not find the man.
Before going to the war, Shi Yi took the risk and secretly came to find her.
The man took off his dark grey hood and hid in the darkness. “I will leave tomorrow.”
“Hold on!” Yu Zhiyi rushed back into the hall, grabbed the dark blue purse she had tucked away in her sewing box, and hurried out, breathing heavily.
She shoved the purse into Shi Yi’s hand and said, “This is for you.”
Shi Yi looked shocked. “Do you realise what this means?”
When a woman gave a man a purse… it carried a significant message.
“It’s already done. I was too shy to see you off properly,” Yu Zhi said, biting her lip and nodding. “Shi Yi… you have to come back safe!”
Unable to hold back any longer, he followed his feelings and wrapped her in his arms, saying, “Don’t cry. Last time you asked me about that bell. Now I can finally tell you…” He leaned down and whispered in her ear, “That is my most cherished possession.” His soft voice, like a warm breeze melting the winter snow, sparked a flurry of emotions.

The young man joined the army with his father and achieved great success on the battlefield, earning the title of General of Cavalry from the emperor.
The war dragged on for ten months. Both nations were evenly matched, prompting the other side to send envoys for peace talks.
The emperor, weary of the bloodshed, agreed to a diplomatic treaty. At this juncture, the other side suggested forming a friendly alliance. However, the pampered princesses of the palace were reluctant to marry into a foreign land, uncertain of their future.
The emperor was troubled by this.
The “thoughtful” queen stepped in with a suggestion. “Your Majesty, I have a suitable candidate in mind.”
“Please, share your thoughts.”
“Princess Jiahe, fifteen years old…”

Yu Zhiyi’s life took a wild turn.
First, she was surrounded by eunuchs and palace maids, and then she got an imperial decree that gave her a fancy new palace. It all felt so surreal, like a dream. She was even surprised to see her father, whom she hadn’t seen in ages, come to visit her.
The people around her were super attentive but stayed quiet, refusing to answer her questions. The queen even sent someone to teach her etiquette, but she was stuck in the palace and couldn’t meet anyone else.
Her nanny was really worried.
After a few days, she finally got a chance to ask what was going on. When she found out about the marriage, she was furious. “This can’t be happening!”
“The Queen wants Princess Jiahe to go to the palace,” one of the maids informed.
When Yu Zhiyi arrived, the queen showered her with jewels, but Yu Zhiyi hesitated to accept them, saying, “Your Majesty, these are too precious. Jiahe doesn’t deserve this.”
The queen smiled and replied, “Why not? You’re marrying into the Kingdom of Yan to strengthen our ties. You deserve it all.”
“Marry? Yan State?” Yu Zhiyi thought something was off, but she never imagined they would force her into marriage! They had made their decision without caring about her feelings at all. In a panic, Yu Zhiyi knelt down and begged, “Your Majesty, please reconsider!”
The Queen seemed unfazed, appearing calm and rational. “Why did Princess Jiahe react this way? It’s a positive development,” she remarked.
Yu Zhiyi shook her head, but her protests fell on deaf ears.
The Queen gestured, instructing, “Take Princess Jiahe back to the palace. You’re not allowed to leave the bedroom without my word”
Shortly after, she commanded someone to fetch beautiful wedding attire.
Yu Zhiyi resisted, knocking the clothes aside. T
‘This girl is quite headstrong!’ The queen then devised a plan and signalled to a maid, ‘When the moment arrives…’

Yu Zhiyi awoke again, feeling her body being jostled. Blinking her eyes open, she struggled to see clearly and felt utterly drained. After what felt like an eternity, she finally regained her senses.
‘This is… the bridal sedan for my wedding!’
Pulling back the curtain, she spotted the escort team surrounding her, leaving no chance for escape.
She was trapped in an ornate carriage day and night.
“Princess, it’s better not to find; otherwise, you might hurt yourself.”
Yu Zhiyi was overwhelmed with despair. She was thinking of ending her life rather than marrying an unfamiliar person in a foreign country. Yet, she had made a promise to that man, and how could she find peace before he returned safely?
“Gugugugu——”
A strange sound echoed in the distance before fading away. No one paid for it, while the little princess in the sedan chair clutched a sharp hairpin tightly.

It was spread that a courageous and fierce cavalry general had gone missing at the border, and no one knew why. Rumours started flying around, suggesting everything from sacrifice for the nation to mysterious disappearance.
Meanwhile, a new embroidery workshop popped up in a distant town, far from the imperial capital. The workshop owner was incredibly skilled but never made an appearance.
“Boss Shi, my master loved the last batch of embroidery and she wants to meet this talented embroiderer. Can you set up a meeting?”
The man in the dark blue shirt, known as ‘Boss Shi’, gently set down his teacup and declined. “My wife is unwell and can’t meet guests right now. I hope you understand.”
The visitor sighed. ‘My master wants to place another order. Can it be done in two weeks?”
Boss Shi replied, “My wife can’t overwork herself; she has limited time to embroider.”
After the guest left, Boss Shi entered the courtyard. There, he found the embroiderer, who was supposedly too ill to meet anyone, sitting under a lush tree, looking vibrant and lovely.
As soon as he arrived, she seemed to sense his presence and looked up. Upon seeing him, she quickly stood, and her golden bell jingled at her waist.
Boss Shi, feeling cheerful, waved at his wife. “Yiyi, come here.”
She responded with a bright voice. “Husband!”
That brave young general… He didn’t seek power or fame; he just wanted to be with his beloved and live a carefree life.
