Absolutely Spoiled - Chapter 8

Chapter 8
September: Another school year.
A boy in blue and white short-sleeves went to the store in front of the school and bought two mineral water bottles. He was still only 12 years old, but he was very handsome, and one could imagine how charming he would be when he became an adult.
Most of the girls who saw him wanted to talk to him, but no one took the initiative to get to know him because their parents were around.
“What grade is that boy in?”
“I haven’t seen him before, he must be a freshman.”
“There are no parents around him, and he came to the small shop to buy water. He doesn’t feel like a new student.”
Holding the two water bottles, Shi Yi walked towards the shade of the teaching building with ease. He had come to this middle school twice before today, so he knew the school’s structure by heart.
“Here.” He unscrewed one of the bottles and handed it to the girl standing by the stairs.
The girl held the mineral water bottle, took two sips, and muttered, “Brother, shall we go and see which classes we are in?”
After seeing the schedule, she was so happy that she was about to jump up. “Great! We are still in the same class, so destined!”
Both of them could still be studying together for the next three years.
Shi Yi rejected the offer he got to study at the best experimental middle school in the city and enrolled in the second middle school in the town with Yu Zhiyi.
When they went to the classroom, there were only a few students there. Shi Yi glanced at the classroom and said to Yu Zhiyi, “Choose one.” He was asking to choose a seat.
Yu Zhi turned her head, looked at Shi Yi’s height again, and started walking to the back row. Seeing this, Shi Yi couldn’t help but laugh and said in an amusing tone while showing a seat in the fourth row, “Sit here. Do you want to look at other people’s heads in class?”
Yu Zhiyi: “…” She only wanted to sit with her brother.
Shi Yi picked up Yu Zhiyi’s school bag, and led the little girl to the fourth row, occupying two seats domineeringly.
Yu Zhiyi asked hesitantly, “Brother, is it really okay for you to sit here?” She was always worried that Shi Yi would be transferred to the back row because of his height.
“Let’s talk about it later.” Shi Yi didn’t care.
Yu Zhiyi looked around the class and found that some children in the class were from their previous school, but they were not very close to her.
“It’s really Shi Yi. I didn’t expect us to be in the same class,” someone said.
Shi Yi was the treasure that all the teachers held in their hands in the elementary school. Also won many honorary awards for the school. It is said that he had already learned junior high school knowledge in elementary school, and he could even do high school questions. Someone once said that he would skip a grade, but for some unknown reason, he was willing to progress slowly, step by step.
Yu Zhiyi was lying on the table, looking at the front door with two round eyes, hoping that the next person to come in would be an acquaintance. Finally, after waiting for some time, a familiar face appeared.
“Qiao Qiao!” Yu Zhiyi was so happy that she waved to Qiao Lezhi, it turned out that they were really together again.
Today, freshmen students don’t have to learn academic subjects. They were just waiting in the classroom for the new book to be issued. The weather made people drowsy, and Yu Zhiyi rolled her eyelids and fell asleep directly on the table.
Qiao Lezhi had just finished making new friends and was about to call Yu Zhiyi’s name. But when she turned around, she was stopped by Shi Yi’s sharp eyes. So she dared not wake up Yu Zhiyi.
It was the beginning of September, and it was somewhat hot. So it didn’t take long before the little girl’s forehead and the tip of her nose were covered with sweat.
The fan above her head didn’t work, so Shi Yi stacked the two registration notices together to create a cool breeze. He didn’t stop, even if his hands were sore, he persisted.
Those who were not familiar with Shi Yi and Yu Zhiyi were stunned to see such a scene.
“I just heard that girl calling that boy brother, are they brother and sister?” one of the girls asked Qiao Lezhi.
However, Qiao Lezhi, who knew Shi Yi and Yu Zhiyi for six years, raised an index finger, wobbled, and mysteriously replied, “No, you will know in the future.”
Qiao Lezhi didn’t make it clear, but everyone envied Yu Zhiyi for having such a good brother who took care of his sister carefully and gently.
After the school officially started, the head teacher rearranged students’ seats according to their heights. So according to the height difference between Yu Zhiyi and Shi Yi, they were not able to sit in the same row, but fortunately, she and Qiao Lezhi continued to be at the same table.
“Hello students, I am Yang Xiao, your head teacher. I welcome you all.” The head teacher wrote his name on the blackboard. He held the admission sheet in his hand and asked the new students in the class, “I want to temporarily select a few class committee cadres. Is there anyone who can recommend themselves?”
Shi Yi raised his hand without hesitation, and the students in the class began to whisper.
“He’s so confident.”
“That’s right, he’s the one that the Experimental Middle School called for admission.”
“Then why did he come to our class?”
“I don’t know.”
Shi Yi was the class monitor for three years when he was in primary school, and he was most suitable for that position.
But at this moment, a girl raised her hand and said, “I also want to run for the class monitor.”
“This is our school’s bully, Cheng Qingyu,” a student who was familiar with Cheng Qingyu muttered.
The head teacher said he had to observe both of them for a while, and after two weeks he would be appointing the class monitor.
Cheng Qingyu worked hard to please her peers and invited her classmates to have a drink as soon as school started.
As for Shi Yi, he became friends with boys by playing basketball games, and girls of this age basically had no resistance to sunny, handsome boys with good grades who could play basketball.
When running for the monitor, Shi Yi won against Cheng Qingyu by five votes.
Shi Yi became the class monitor, and Cheng Qingyu became the deputy class monitor.
Everyone thought that Shi Yi would be a very serious monitor, but they never expected—
“Class monitor, Shi, I can’t memorise this English text, so can I find some hints for myself?” A classmate looked at the book full of the words “Hint”, and tentatively asked: “Can I read the hint?”
“Yes.”
“Class leader, can I borrow your math homework?”
“Take it.”
Class monitor Shi Yi was so “reasonable”, and his classmates were full of praise for him.
Cheng Qingyu, the deputy class monitor, felt insulted. She held back for a long time until one day she ran into Yu Zhiyi, who was punished by the teacher. Some students failed to pass the dictation in classical Chinese and were punished by the teacher. They had to copy the words ten times, and Yu Zhiyi was one of them.
The teacher asked the class monitor and deputy monitor to supervise and inspect them, and Cheng Qingyu walked up and down the classroom with a serious face, urging them to copy quickly, while Shi Yi sat lazily with his eyes closed and didn’t take it seriously at all.
Cheng Qingyu thought, ‘If this continues, the teacher will understand that I am the most suitable candidate for monitor.’ So she was even stricter.
Some students were fast and scribbled, and it didn’t take long to copy the words.
Cheng Qingyu walked around and found that Yu Zhiyi hadn’t written more words. Thinking that she was being lazy and wasting time, she said with an angry face, “Yu Zhiyi, write faster, others have finished copying, and you are only halfway through writing.”
At this time, the classroom was very quiet; she called the name of Yu Zhiyi louder, and the boy who was leaning on the back row and dozing off suddenly opened his eyes.
Yu Zhiyi flipped through the completed four transcriptions and apologised earnestly. “I’m sorry, I wrote slowly, but I will finish them.” She had been very disciplined in writing since she was a child, and there were no mistakes, but the speed was relatively slow, even if it was copying, the font was as beautiful as calligraphy.
Cheng Qingyu stared at her handwriting and muttered, “The handwriting is beautiful and useless. You have to copy it ten times. Hurry up.”
Yu Zhiyi was about to answer Cheng Qingyu when the pink water bottle suddenly pressed on her table.
“Drink water, I’ll help you write,” Shi Yi said.
Cheng Qingyu stared at him incredulously and shouted, “Shi Yi, you are openly opening the back door!”
Shi Yi: “So what?”
Cheng Qingyu: “Could it be that you became the class monitor for your own selfishness?”
Shi Yi couldn’t deny it, “It really is.”
One of the girls in the back row covered her face and said, “My God, the class monitor is too handsome!”
Qiao Lezhi, with an excited face, turned her head to share the fun with the girls in the back row, “Do you know why Shi Yi became the monitor?”
The girls shook their heads.
Qiao Lezhi: “Of course, it’s because of Yiyi! In the third grade, when she memorised the texts one by one, the class leader deliberately picked on her to prevent her from passing. The next day, Shi Yi went directly to the teacher to apply for the position of class leader. Later, he was the only class leader in our class.”
“I will definitely report this to the teacher!” Cheng Qingyu was furious.
Yu Zhiyi wanted to explain but was cut off by Shi Yi. He glanced at Cheng Qingyu. “You can do whatever you want.”
Cheng Qingyu left angrily.
Shi Yi took the pen and made a few movements, and words similar to Yu Zhiyi’s handwriting appeared in her book. It was impossible to tell the difference with the naked eye!
As soon as Yu Zhiyi knew what Shi Yi was up to, she muttered, “Brother, you imitated my handwriting again.”
“When you copy ten times at a snail’s speed, it will be dark,” Shi Yi replied.
After this incident, everyone knew that Shi Yi doted on Yu Zhiyi very, very much.
When school was over, a girl from the next class stuffed a letter into Yu Zhiyi’s arms and said shyly, “Yu Zhiyi, please pass this letter to your brother!” Before she had time to refuse, the girl had already disappeared.
Yu Zhi twisted the pink and tender envelope, hesitating a little.
