Chapter 9

Yu Zhiyi, who was sitting by the window doing her homework, was a little absent-minded. She quietly took the pink envelope. She could guess that this was a love letter. A love letter she was entrusted by another girl to give to Shi Yi.

Her head was a mess because she was thinking about whether to deliver it or not. 

First, she didn’t promise that girl to deliver the letter; it was given to her by force. Second, the school did not allow students their age to fall in love. But, after all, this was what the other girls wanted to give Shi Yi. She struggled for a long time and finally went to Shi’s house.

It was a weekend, so Ning Suya had no work and was resting. When she saw Yu Zhiyi had come, she welcomed the little girl with a smile.

“Hello, Aunty! Is my brother not at home?”

“He went to play basketball with his friends, and he should be back in a while.”

“Then I’ll wait for him.”

“Ok, Yiyi, I’m going to buy groceries. You just wait at home for a while. There are fruits and snacks on the table. Take what you want.” Ning Suya had always taken care of her, and she was very happy when Yu Zhiyi visited the house.

Shi Yi didn’t show any sign that he had seen Yu Zhiyi, so he moved backward and closed the door with a calm face.

“Ha–“

Just as he was about to take a step forward, a small head popped out from the side, and the little girl raised her hands to pretend to be fierce.

Shi Yi leaned back cooperatively, his face was terrified, and even the basketball in his hand fell to the ground. He patted his chest and muttered, “You scared me to death.”

Yu Zhiyi hurriedly ran to the door to pick up the basketball, and the corners of her mouth became more and more curved. “Brother, you can become an actor now.”

Seeing her obedient and innocent appearance, Shi Yi couldn’t help but want to laugh. He lay back like a gentleman, pointed at the basin of water, and said, “Go, pour the water out.”

“Oh.” The little girl stood up obediently, put the envelope on the sofa, and took the used water to the bathroom.

Shi Yi sat up, picked up the letter between his fingers, and threw it into the trash can without hesitation.

This was not the first time he received a letter, but this was the first time that it came through Yu Zhiyi.

By the time Ning Suya returned home from shopping, Yu Zhiyi had already left.

“Yiyi had already left? Why didn’t you keep her for dinner?”

“She went back to help Grandma cook.”

Ning Suya was arranging the groceries; after that, she went to the trash can in the living room to put some paper into it and saw the pink letter. At first glance, Ning Suya was not surprised. Although her son was still young, she had seen him get these kinds of letters.

When she first found out that her son had thrown someone’s love letter into the trash can, she was still in the mood to joke and asked him if there were many girls in school who liked him.

Shi Yi refused to take up this topic.

Hearing the rumours, Yu Zhiyi was upset, but she didn’t take them to heart until one or two classmates directly asked her about this matter.

“Hey, I heard that the girl in the next class asked you to hand over the love letter to Shi Yi, but you just threw it away.”

Wrongly accused Yu Zhiyi: “I didn’t.”

“Class monitor, did you finish the math paper assignment given yesterday? Can I borrow it and copy it?” someone asked Shi Yi.

Many students did not have the habit of completing homework at home, so they waited for the next day to copy the answers from someone.

Yu Zhiyi, who was sitting in the front row, glanced at the back of the class several times, quietly grabbed Qiao Lezhi’s hand, and muttered, “Qiao Qiao, show answers for that maths paper.”

“Huh? You want to copy it too?” Qiao Lezhi exclaimed. 

Actually, that was strange, because although Yu Zhiyi’s grades in school were mediocre, she would finish her homework carefully every time at home. Even if she encountered a problem she didn’t know about, Shi Yi would teach her to complete it.

Yu Zhiyi pulled out the test paper from the drawer, but it turned out to be blank. “I forgot to take it back yesterday.”

The maths class representative stood up and reminded everyone to hand over their homework.

Everyone passed the papers one after another.

Suddenly, the maths class representative covered his stomach and patted Shi Yi’s hand anxiously, saying, “I’m going to use the toilet; please collect maths papers for me.”

“Yeah.” Shi Yi and the maths representative were sitting at the same table, so Shi Yi didn’t reject it.

On the papers submitted by some people, there is a question to fill in the blanks, which is an obvious mistake.

Shi Yi started to collect the papers, and as soon as Yu Zhiyi handed over the paper and turned to go back to her table, Shi Yi stopped her.

The maths class representative returned to the classroom and tidied up the papers. Just as he was about to send the papers to the office, Shi Yi pressed the papers down and said, “Wait a minute, I remembered a question that needs to be revised.”

The class representative had great trust in the class monitor, so he pushed the papers over directly. “Then look for it yourself.”

Shi Yi quickly took out a certain test paper and rewrote the answers.
