Absolutely Spoiled - Chapter 9
Chapter 9
Yu Zhiyi, who was sitting by the window doing her homework, was a little absent-minded. She quietly took the pink envelope. She could guess that this was a love letter. A love letter she was entrusted by another girl to give to Shi Yi.
Her head was a mess because she was thinking about whether to deliver it or not.
First, she didn’t promise that girl to deliver the letter; it was given to her by force. Second, the school did not allow students their age to fall in love. But, after all, this was what the other girls wanted to give Shi Yi. She struggled for a long time and finally went to Shi’s house.
It was a weekend, so Ning Suya had no work and was resting. When she saw Yu Zhiyi had come, she welcomed the little girl with a smile.
“Hello, Aunty! Is my brother not at home?”
“He went to play basketball with his friends, and he should be back in a while.”
“Then I’ll wait for him.”
“Ok, Yiyi, I’m going to buy groceries. You just wait at home for a while. There are fruits and snacks on the table. Take what you want.” Ning Suya had always taken care of her, and she was very happy when Yu Zhiyi visited the house.
Yu Zhi nodded repeatedly.
After a while, there was a sound at the door, like a key being inserted into the lock. Yu Zhiyi quickly ran to the door, looked through the cat’s eye, and saw a handsome boy there. Then she quickly hid behind the door before it opened.
Shi Yi just came back from the basketball court, sweating all over. He opened the door, stepped into the house, and took two steps to realise something was strange. He looked back at the corner of his eyes without turning his head and saw the little girl standing behind the door with her hands raised up to scare people.
Shi Yi didn’t show any sign that he had seen Yu Zhiyi, so he moved backward and closed the door with a calm face.
“Ha–“
Just as he was about to take a step forward, a small head popped out from the side, and the little girl raised her hands to pretend to be fierce.
Shi Yi leaned back cooperatively, his face was terrified, and even the basketball in his hand fell to the ground. He patted his chest and muttered, “You scared me to death.”
Yu Zhiyi hurriedly ran to the door to pick up the basketball, and the corners of her mouth became more and more curved. “Brother, you can become an actor now.”
“Little heartless!” ‘Still playing such a childish game!’
Seeing Shi Yi sweating a lot, Yu Zhiyi hurriedly went to bring a basin of water and a hand towel. Then she soaked the towel, squeezed out the extra water, and handed it over to Shi Yi.
Shi Yi grabbed the towel and casually wiped it twice.
At this moment, Yu Zhiyi sat beside him, put her school bag on her lap, and slowly unzipped it. Glancing quietly at Shi Yi, she finally took out the envelope, twisted it in her hand, and muttered, “Someone asked me to deliver a letter to you.”
“What letter?”
“This…” She handed him the envelope. “Do you want to read it?”
The pink envelope itself had a deep meaning, he just glanced at it and said, “Throw it away.”
“Ah?” Yu Zhiyi never expected such a result.
“But you haven’t read it yet, what if someone else left something important for you?”
“If this matter is really important to that person, the other party will not send it to me in a random letter. On the contrary, there is nothing to see.”
At the age of twelve or thirteen, youngsters were ignorant of love, but it was undeniable that some precocious people would have a good impression of the opposite sex. If you didn’t respond, the other party would naturally give up.
Looking at the dazed little girl in front of him, he poked her forehead resentfully. “And you, if you have time to deliver letters for others, why don’t you do two more questions!”
“I don’t want to either, but that girl slipped the letter into my bag and disappeared.”
“Don’t give me these things again.”
“Alright then, I won’t help them deliver letters anymore.” The little girl nodded obediently.
Seeing her obedient and innocent appearance, Shi Yi couldn’t help but want to laugh. He lay back like a gentleman, pointed at the basin of water, and said, “Go, pour the water out.”
“Oh.” The little girl stood up obediently, put the envelope on the sofa, and took the used water to the bathroom.
Shi Yi sat up, picked up the letter between his fingers, and threw it into the trash can without hesitation.
This was not the first time he received a letter, but this was the first time that it came through Yu Zhiyi.
……………………….
By the time Ning Suya returned home from shopping, Yu Zhiyi had already left.
“Yiyi had already left? Why didn’t you keep her for dinner?”
“She went back to help Grandma cook.”
“Yiyi is such a good boy.”
Ning Suya was arranging the groceries; after that, she went to the trash can in the living room to put some paper into it and saw the pink letter. At first glance, Ning Suya was not surprised. Although her son was still young, she had seen him get these kinds of letters.
When she first found out that her son had thrown someone’s love letter into the trash can, she was still in the mood to joke and asked him if there were many girls in school who liked him.
Shi Yi refused to take up this topic.
Later, she found that the letters thrown into the trash bin were still unopened, and she was even more surprised, “Since you don’t read these letters, why did you take them home?” ‘Is it for us to see how popular you are at school…’
How did Shi Yi respond back then? “Throwing it in the classroom will be seen by others. After school, Yiyi comes with me, so it is inconvenient to throw it on the road. So I had to take it home and throw it away.”
Ning Suya: “…”
She couldn’t treat her son like a ten-year-old child!
After thinking about the old incident, she didn’t take the letter out of the trash can. But she just remembered that before going out to buy groceries, the trans can was empty, and now… ‘This letter can’t be given by…’
She hurriedly knocked on Shi Yi’s door. “Xiao Yi, I want to ask you something.”
Shi Yi, who was holding the game console, raised his head in doubt. “What?”
“Who sent the letter in the trash can?”
“I have no idea.”
“Isn’t it Yiyi?” She was the only one who came here just now.
“Mom, what are you thinking? How could she give it to me? That guy is so stupid.” ‘If she knew how to write love letters, I would read the word Shi Yi backwards!’
Ning Suya nodded and said, “That’s true.”
If it was really a letter from Yu Zhiyi, even if Shi Yi didn’t like it, it wouldn’t be unopened and thrown into the trash can.
“I know you are smart, but Mom still wants to remind you that the most important thing now is to study.”
“Understood.” He casually raised his hand.
…………………….
Yu Zhiyi thought that the love letter was just an accident, but she didn’t expect that she would face the same problem frequently again. She refused to pass the letters to Shi Yi, but some didn’t take her words to heart and put the letters on Yu Zhiyi’s desk. So she couldn’t help but show the letters to Shi Yi.
Shi Yi looked at the letters for a while and said with narrowed eyes, “Yu Zhiyi, if you give me these things in the future…”
Yu Zhiyi was a bit scared listening to Shi Yi’s voice; she shook her head again and again and muttered, “I will never take them! I swear!”
However, after that, it was spread in the school that Yu Zhiyi had thrown away other people’s letters.
Some people who gave letters to Yu Zhiyi to pass them on to Shi Yi kept silent, while others badmouthed Yu Zhiyi privately.
Hearing the rumours, Yu Zhiyi was upset, but she didn’t take them to heart until one or two classmates directly asked her about this matter.
“Hey, I heard that the girl in the next class asked you to hand over the love letter to Shi Yi, but you just threw it away.”
Wrongly accused Yu Zhiyi: “I didn’t.”
As many students asked the same question so many times, Yi Zhiyi couldn’t listen anymore. She covered her ears and muttered to herself, “They insisted on giving them to me, and finally blamed me for not delivering them. These people are so annoying!”
Shi Yi, who heard the words, laughed dumbfounded and said, “I thought you didn’t care about those rumours.”
“Brother!”
He couldn’t help pinching her swollen cheeks. “You will be the death of me.”
Yu Zhiyi: “How can I…”
Shi Yi: “Okay, leave this matter to me.”
Yu Zhiyi: “It was originally…” ‘You caused the trouble yourself.’
“Huh?” He frowned.
“I believe my brother will be able to solve it perfectly,” said Yu Zhiyi as she raised her hands, showing a surrender gesture.
Shi Yi acted very quickly, not only solving the problem for her but also giving a wake-up call to all the students.
At the morning assembly on Monday, the grade director used euphemistic words to say that puppy love was strictly prohibited in the school.
[T/L: In China, “puppy love” means the romantic relationship among schoolchildren before they enter the university.]
……………….
“Class monitor, did you finish the math paper assignment given yesterday? Can I borrow it and copy it?” someone asked Shi Yi.
Many students did not have the habit of completing homework at home, so they waited for the next day to copy the answers from someone.
Yu Zhiyi, who was sitting in the front row, glanced at the back of the class several times, quietly grabbed Qiao Lezhi’s hand, and muttered, “Qiao Qiao, show answers for that maths paper.”
“Huh? You want to copy it too?” Qiao Lezhi exclaimed.
Actually, that was strange, because although Yu Zhiyi’s grades in school were mediocre, she would finish her homework carefully every time at home. Even if she encountered a problem she didn’t know about, Shi Yi would teach her to complete it.
Yu Zhiyi pulled out the test paper from the drawer, but it turned out to be blank. “I forgot to take it back yesterday.”
“Okay…” Qiao Lezhi agreed.
The maths class representative stood up and reminded everyone to hand over their homework.
Everyone passed the papers one after another.
Suddenly, the maths class representative covered his stomach and patted Shi Yi’s hand anxiously, saying, “I’m going to use the toilet; please collect maths papers for me.”
“Yeah.” Shi Yi and the maths representative were sitting at the same table, so Shi Yi didn’t reject it.
On the papers submitted by some people, there is a question to fill in the blanks, which is an obvious mistake.
Shi Yi started to collect the papers, and as soon as Yu Zhiyi handed over the paper and turned to go back to her table, Shi Yi stopped her.
Yu Zhiyi felt chills down her spine. Who had thought she would be discovered the first time she messed with something small?
“Did you write the paper yourself?” Shi Yi asked while giving a stern look.
Yu Zhiyi: “Yes….”
Shi Yi: “OK.” ‘Dare to lie to me, good job.’
The maths class representative returned to the classroom and tidied up the papers. Just as he was about to send the papers to the office, Shi Yi pressed the papers down and said, “Wait a minute, I remembered a question that needs to be revised.”
The class representative had great trust in the class monitor, so he pushed the papers over directly. “Then look for it yourself.”
“Um.”
Shi Yi quickly took out a certain test paper and rewrote the answers.
