Cherish You as My Life - Chapter 21.2

Chapter 21.2
After leaving Director Ye’s office, Ji Yao headed to the forensic office once more.
“Why are you here again?” Han Xi asked, lifting her head from the computer screen.
Currently, the Criminal Investigation Team hadn’t sent any corpses for examination, so Ji Yao didn’t have any official purpose for coming. And it would be bad if he ran to the forensic room when he had nothing to do.
Upon entering the office, Ji Yao just said, “I’m here to talk about work.”
Then he remembered what Director Ye said just a few minutes ago. “Director Ye asked me to inform you that you have to participate in this year’s City Bureau’s promotional video.”
After giving it some thought, Han Xi concluded, “I have no experience. You should ask Zhou Li.”
Ji Yao: “Zhou Li has pimples on her face as a result of eating too much junk food. It would affect the image of the City Bureau.”
After turning around, Han Xi looked at Zhu Han. “Well, then Xiao Zhu?”
Zhu Han received the message of Ji Yao’s eyes and hurriedly refused. “No, I don’t look capable enough. It will affect the image of the City Bureau.”
Finally, Han Xi had to agree with Ji Yao. “Do I need to prepare anything?”
“The best clothing is a wedding dress,” Ji Yao said seriously. “But if you don’t have a wedding dress, an evening dress will do, especially a bright red one. After the photoshoot, I’ll head straight to your place.”
Upon hearing that, Han Xi got up from the chair and kicked the man’s calves. “Get out.”
Wanting to chuckle but not daring to laugh out loud, Zhu Han covered her mouth.
The following day, Han Xi went to the huge conference room on the second floor wearing a police uniform.
The photographer was still not there, but Ji Yao was already there.
Han Xi had never seen Ji Yao in a complete police uniform before.
Different from the usual colourful shirts that looked saucy and flirty, the police uniform was straight and majestic, looking very solemn and righteous.
Han Xi felt it was a different person who was standing in front of her.
But as soon as the man opened his mouth, his true colours were revealed. “Hey, here comes the beauty.”
The corners of his mouth were slightly upturned, and his eyebrows were slightly arched in a smile.
Han Xi came over and glanced at him and muttered, “Can you talk nicely?”
Ji Yao smiled and replied, “There are no outsiders here. Just the two of us.”
Han Xi ignored him and glanced at the stage. “The photographer is still not here?”
“No.” Ji Yao said, “The photographer and the reporter at Director Cai’s office.”
At this time, Ji Yao’s phone rang.
“Captain Ji, I apologise. Director Cai has to travel to the police academy to film an outside scene. So today, we can’t take your photos. If you can, get a different person to take the photos and email it to me afterwards. Otherwise, we can use last year’s photos,” the photographer said at the other end of the phone.
It was his first time taking a picture with her, and it had the same memorable value as a wedding picture. So how could he miss the chance?
After ending the call, Ji Yao dialled Secretary Li’s number.
Two big cars pulled up in front of the City Bureau thirty minutes later. The entire photographic crew emerged, with some holding SLR cameras, others holding lighting equipment, and some makeup artists carrying makeup boxes.
Seeing that, the guard, Old Liu, was startled, thinking something big would happen. He even took out his weapon.
“We are the photography team of Ji’s Group,” the leader said, passing out their business cards. “Our purpose is to help the City Bureau with the mid-year promotional video shoot.”
Old Liu checked it and called Ji Yao for confirmation.
The photographic team took several rounds to their cars to get their belongings.
Seeing that, Old Liu warned from behind. “Hurry up and take pictures, and leave as soon as you finish filming; otherwise, someone will be scolded again when Director Cai comes back.”
As soon as Ji’s photography team appeared, the stage in the conference room was quickly changed into a professional photo studio.
The makeup artist put on light makeup for Han Xi. She also made Han Xi’s originally soft willow-leaf eyebrows a little thicker, giving her a bit more heroism.
Observing from a distance, Ji Yao occasionally said, “Her eyebrows are quite beautiful, but you painted them too harshly.”
“The lipstick is too light, as if it’s not painted on. I saw in your box there was red lipstick. It may be good for her.”
The makeup artist smiled and said, “Captain Ji, this is for a police promotional video; not bridal makeup.”
Han Xi glanced at the man helplessly. “Go away.”
The photographer was setting the tripod when Ji Yao, who had driven away, approached him. “Let me just say one thing. Sitting over there putting on makeup is Ji’s future young lady.”
With a heartfelt smile, the photographer answered, “Okay, I understand.”
The green screen background was set up, the lens was adjusted, and the lights were turned on.
After the makeup process was over, the photographer declared, “It’s time to start shooting.”
Han Xi walked over, stood next to Ji Yao, and looked at the camera, smiling mechanically, waiting for the shot.
Photographer: “Smile more naturally, sweeter, and closer.”
Ji Yao stood next to Han Xi.
Photographer: “Move your head closer.”
Han Xi didn’t move.
Ji Yao raised his hand and pressed her head to his shoulder.
The photographer took dozens of shots in a row. “Change the position, face to face, the bride…ah, no, Officer Han look up at the new h… Captain.”
The lighting engineer and makeup artist, standing beside the photographer, along with the others laughed till they were sore inside, and the atmosphere was really happy.
When Han Xi at last recognized something was amiss, she looked up at Ji Yao with a scowl.
“Don’t look at me like this; I’m innocent too…” Ji Yao said, lowering his head. Before he could finish speaking, he felt a pain in his shoulder. ‘No mercy at all. Just like treating criminals.’
Although Han Xi didn’t pinch Ji Yao’s shoulder hard, he still felt an intense pain. “Easy, gentle.” Ji Yao screamed in pain. ‘I can’t offend the forensic doctor.’
He also witnessed her wild side for the first time, which was adorable. ‘This woman’s fashion sense reflects the fact that she is hot on the inside and frigid on the outside. She likes to wear plain clothes outside, but her underwear is sexy. She is passionate.’
The photographer continued to take photos while claiming that they were a police couple and even displayed their love in a very unusual way.
Ji Yao finally became honest and cooperated with Han Xi to take a few serious and dignified photos that could be placed on the cover of the City Bureau’s monthly magazine.
After the filming was completed, the staff began to pack their things.
While examining the images in the camera, Ji Yao stood by the photographer and said, “Go back and edit these sweet, loving photos carefully, and send them to me separately.”
The more he looked at them, the more he liked them, especially the one where Han Xi rested her head on his shoulder. In a few of them, they were looking at each other face-to-face.
“Can you send them to me before I get off work tonight?” He wanted to choose one as a screensaver on his phone.
“I have an appointment with Jiang Wei this afternoon to shoot a new advertisement for a new real estate project in the west of the city,” the photographer said, packing the tripod into the suitcase. “Additionally, the photo editor has requested sick leave. Will you be able to accept it tomorrow?”
“All right, you’ve had a difficult day today,” Ji Yao said, nodding. “Take them somewhere good to eat at noon, and let Secretary Li settle the bill.”
He added, glancing at the on-site staff.
After putting the camera away, the photographer grinned and asked, “Captain Ji, do I look good?”
Ji Yao glanced at the man and asked, “You want to go on a blind date?”
The photographer chuckled twice before replying. “No, not this afternoon. I’m going to take photos of Jiang Wei, and I want to leave a good impression on her. You know Jiang Wei, right?”
Ji Yao: “I don’t know. But the name sounds familiar. I may have heard it somewhere.”
Photographer: “That’s Jiang Wei: the beauty that no man can reject.”
