I Gave Birth to a Cub without Telling the Head Assistant - Chapter 13.2

Chapter 13.2
The two were very close to each other, both standing on the dam ladder. The woman’s skirt was elegant, and the man was standing tall. Under the blue sea and blue sky, they looked like a talented and beautiful couple, laughing and talking, which looked extremely pleasing to the eye.
Everyone stood on the pier and waited until it was past three o’clock. Finally, someone with sharp eyes saw the tip of a sailboat emerging from the water. They shouted excitedly, “That’s Mr. Zhou Ge‘s boat! Mr. Zhou Ge has arrived. The Lord is here!”
Everyone had been waiting in place for a long time, and the moment the cheers spread, everyone present was excited. They stood up one by one, feeling exhausted. Some men even took out the small bronze mirrors they carried with them and looked neatly, striving to leave a good impression on Mr. Zhou Ge.
It was a merchant ship belonging to the Ruan family. It sailed under the backlight of the morning sun and finally ran aground at the mouth of the ship dam. Several shirtless trackers immediately slipped forward and pulled the reins to bring the ship to the shore.
A few minutes later, from the deck, a thin old man with silver hair and a crane’s beard slowly walked out.
The old man’s eyes were shining brightly, and he looked very energetic. The brown robe on his body was a little dusty, but not old. He was not wearing socks on his feet; he only wore a pair of wooden clogs on his bare feet, which gave him a somewhat fairy-like air.
Behind him was a man in green with a clear temperament who seemed to be the old man’s attendant.
Everyone was captivated by the old man’s grace.
“Hello, Mr. Zhou Ge.”
Ruan Linglong’s smile was as bright as a bloomed flower, and she greeted him obediently, “Uncle Zhou must be tired from the bumpy journey. The entire Xinghui Pavilion, where Uncle Zhou will stay, has been prepared. I also cooked your favourite ginseng chicken soup in advance so that you can relieve your fatigue later.”
When Mr. Zhou Ge saw her, the solemn aura that belonged to his elders disappeared, and a smile finally appeared at the corner of his mouth. “You should be dining well.”
His eyes flashed, and he saw Li Zhulin standing beside Ruan Linglong, but there was no reaction on his face.
After all, he was getting older and was really tired from travelling. Faced with this crowded scene, Mr. Zhou Ge couldn’t find the interest to deal with it. He directly got into the soft sedan that had been prepared long ago and headed to the Xinghui Pavilion, ready to have a rest.
Almost everyone gathered around while Mr. Zhou Ge got into the sedan chair. The guides led the way, and the curtains were lifted. There were even a few gentlemen who wanted to squeeze out the bearers and insisted on carrying the sedan chair for Mr. Zhou Ge themselves.
In this chaos, the young man, who was following me, Zhou Ge stood beside Ruan Longling at some point.
He seemed to be very familiar with Ruan Longling. “I told you a long time ago that Liu Chengji can’t stand up to the wall, but you only focus on him. What’s the matter? The engagement has been broken off now, right?”
Ruan Longling pursed her lips when she heard the man mention her broken engagement.
“I have no regrets; I can afford to lose!”
The young man tugged at the corner of her clothes, smiled gently, and said softly, “After all, no one dares to want you again. Why not consider marrying me?”
