It was spring; flowers were blooming, trees were full of green, and orioles were flying, making everything full of life.

In the huge courtyard of Yanfei Pavilion, there was an extremely cute child chasing butterflies. The two little chirps tied to her head trembled slightly with her steps, which was extremely endearing.

The sound of a child’s laughter made everyone feel good.

“I haven’t seen you for a few months. Sister Shu has gotten taller once more, Ruan Longling said while looking at the little girl, who was playing happily. 

“No, a young child, even just a few months old, will usually look the same every day, even if we haven’t seen them for a few days.”

In the corridor, two sisters observed the young girl strolling with joy through the garden.

Ruan Chengfeng was on his way home from Yunshan Academy, and Ruan Liyun took her child to her parents’ house, where the whole family was gathering.

Ruan Longling had not seen Sister Shu in a long time. She liked little children so much that Ruan Longling didn’t hesitate to change Sister Shu’s clothes when she accidentally spilled her drink.

If the child hadn’t been trying to catch the butterfly, Ruan Longling would still be holding her and wouldn’t want to let go.

‘It’s great to have a child. Soon… I’ll have my own soon. I will have a baby soon if I defeat Wang Chulin.’

“Second sister, how did you relieve your morning sickness?”

“Did it hurt when Sister Shu was born?”

“How do we pick a wet nurse?”

“Do you have to stay inside?”

“Dear, when you were pregnant with Sister Shu, did you enjoy eating spicy food?”

After Ruan Liyun answered the questions her sister asked, she held the handkerchief to her mouth, smiled, and then playfully patted her sister’s slim waist. “Why do you want to know? I thought you were going to have a baby soon.” 

‘If all goes as expected, the baby will be born soon. But I can’t let anyone else find out about this.’ Ruan Longling smiled and said, “That’s not possible.”

However, she remembered all the answers Ruan Liyun had just given in her heart.

Ruan Longling looked at Ruan Liyun, who was two years older than her. She remembered that the second sister was very happy and calm before getting married, but lately, her mood seemed to get worse every time she came home. Sometimes, when she talked, her eyes looked empty. 

‘The brother-in-law hasn’t been home with my sister for almost six months. Did they have a fight?’ While Ruan Longling was thinking, She remembered that her mother said that the second sister and her second brother-in-law didn’t seem to get along. She was worried and asked about the matter, but Ruan Liyun didn’t want to say more, so she couldn’t get the truth.

Right now, a young girl at the end of the corridor in Yanfei Pavilion is walking fast, holding her skirt. She said with a smile, “Sisters, the concierge told me that Chengfeng’s carriage has arrived in the city. He should be home soon after a few cups of tea.”

“Sure, hurry; we need to get the table ready,” Ruan Liyun stood up and said anxiously. 

Ruan Longling felt happy when she heard this. She held her sister’s arm and said it with a smile. “Hey, sister, let’s go to the main hall and wait there.”

“Hisss…”

Ruan Longling heard someone hissing in pain, so she quickly looked around and saw Ruan Liyun’s face contorted with pain.

Ruan Longling quickly released her arm, wanted to roll up her sister’s sleeves to check, and asked with concern, “What happened to you? Where are you hurt?”

Ruan Liyun held Ruan Longling’s hands to prevent rolling her sleeves and said it hurriedly. “Everything’s okay. When I was looking after Sister Shu that day, I accidentally hit the corner of the table, and I already applied medicine.” Ruan Liyun arranged her clothes and said, “Let’s go to the main hall. Sister Shu has not seen her uncle in a long time.”

Ruan Longling was a little surprised, but she didn’t argue anymore, and the group quickly moved to the main hall.

The three sisters walked to the main hall and talked about things around the house while taking care of Sister Shu. After waiting for two cups of tea, someone finally came in through the main entrance of the main hall.

He was a good-looking young man who walked with confidence.
