Chapter 21.2

“Third sister! Brother Zeqi! Why are you here?”

The two people had finished their studies, and Ruan Chengfeng packed his books to leave. When he turned around, he saw Ruan Longling and Yu Zeqi standing in the corridor.

After listening to Li Zhulin’s lecture, Ruan Chengfeng’s mind was filled with the content he learned, and he still seemed unable to understand some points. So when he saw Yu Zeqi, he felt relieved. “Brother Zeqi, I still have a few points that I haven’t fully understood. Can you please help me straighten them out?”

“Why not?” Yu Zeqi was naturally willing to help his future wife’s brother, and the two left in a hurry.

In the long and winding corridor, a handsome man and a gorgeous woman stood at the left and right ends, looking at each other.

Suddenly, the woman raised her skirt a bit and ran towards the man with all her strength.

Wherever she dashed past, the flowers and leaves beside the corridor slightly trembled. 

“Young Master Wang! The lesson you just taught was so good!”

Ruan Longling halted in front of the man. Her cheeks were turned red, and there was a thin layer of sweat on her forehead. She raised her head and smiled at the man sweetly.

Li Zhulin’s eyes briefly flared with an odd light that soon faded. He turned the ring on his finger slightly, lowered his gaze to meet hers, and spoke icily, “Boss Ruan, it seems like… you shouldn’t be here.”

‘It was truly frightening how this man’s face became icy. Indeed!’ She remembered what he said before starting to give lessons to his brother. 

“What makes Mr. Wang so aggressive? I apologise if I upset you. I’ve come over to give Cheng Chengfeng a book. Ruan Longling held up the book and spoke softly while putting her lips pressed together.

Instantly, her eyes filled with tears, and it seemed she was heartbroken by his words. “Why does Prince Wang stay away from me like a scorpion and a snake? Am I really so annoying? Yes, everyone outside is laughing at me now, telling me that I’m not soft or considerate, that I have a strong personality, and that’s why the present champion divorced me. There are also rumours that as long as a man touches me, he will have bad luck. So Prince Wang also thinks so? That’s why you treat me so respectfully, right?”

Though Ruan Longling had a strong heart, she couldn’t help but feel a small sting from being treated so coldly time and time again.

She was not sure if she was acting or if she was really feeling this way. As she murmured these self-pitying words, she felt more and more choked up, and her eyes began to fill with tears.

With tears in her eyes, she turned to face the man. She noticed that his lips were pressed firmly without a word, and his eyes seemed a little frigid.

Ruan Longling feels more and more frustrated!

When she got hot, he got cold.

As soon as she entered, he retreated.

She had come this far already, and she hadn’t heard back from anyone. The two of them were no longer able to get along regularly, despite his cautious and guarded demeanour.

‘Is there no way I can win this man over? If this kept up, I couldn’t help but worry. What if I couldn’t be successful?’

Ruan Longling was prepared to make a show of turning around and walking away. She said in a sad tone, “Come on, if Prince Wang really thinks that I am a disaster star, I will just leave…”

Suddenly, just as she was about to turn around, the man on the steps parted his lips to say something.”I didn’t avoid you on purpose.”

Li Zhulin could only think of one thing that bothered him: the crystal in her eyes. “I’m just… not used to it.” 

‘Not used to it? What are you unfamiliar with? Why is this person’s speech so distorted?’ However, his bland and ambiguous explanation offered Ruan Longling hope once more! 

As long as he showed her some sympathy and didn’t reject her too strongly… Bit by bit, she was sure she could open the door to his heart!

“You’re not used to it because, I believe, Prince Wang has never seen a boudoir woman as generous as me.” She let out a small laugh and continued, “I am quite informal because I come from a merchant family and have been on the streets since I was a young child, which makes Prince Wang see a joke.”

She looked at Li Zhulin and said, “You see, we have known each other for some time now, but we still refer to each other as “prince” and  “miss.” How about this? If Mr. Wang is willing to call me Longling, I’ll call you Brother Wang.”

Since his attitude was relaxed, she must take advantage of the victory and pursue it!

“Brother Wang?”

Ruan Longling raised her black feather-like eyelashes and glanced at him quickly.

“Or…Brother Chulin?” Her voice seemed to slightly tremble.

This was a huge step she took to have a son for herself.
