Mrs. Mei's Survival Diary - Chapter 10.2
Chapter 10.2
Rong Yinshuang looked at the old woman’s departing back and sighed.
Along the way, the eldest said that he wanted to drink water. Rong Yinshuang bought a pear for each of them, and the two children nibbled it all the way while happily talking.
Back at the Taoist Temple, Rong Yinshuang went to the kitchen to prepare food.
Today she bought a pound of fresh meat to make braised pork to eat.
As soon as the two children heard that there was meat to eat at noon, they had been lying on the edge of the stove since they came back.
Seeing that, Rong Yinshuang was angry, but she didn’t shove them away.
Just as the meat came out of the pot, the elder child did not care about the heat, pinched two pieces, and ran out of the kitchen with Moer to the yard. One piece of meat per person, and they were very satisfied.
Rong Yinshuang was helpless, but she didn’t want to care about them, so she simply brought the plate of meat to the yard, gave them two spoons, and let them eat as they pleased.
Daer stood on the ground, grabbing meat with his brother.
When Rong Yinshuang brought the other dishes she had prepared, there were only two or three pieces of meat remaining on the plate, and the two children’s hands and mouths were full of oil.
After squeezing another towel and wiping their hands and faces, the family sat down again to continue eating.
After eating, Rong Yinshuang studied the sample of Silk Village for a while and felt that the two places were not very clear, so she planned to go back to Silk Village again. After locking the manhole cover and kitchen door, she asked Daer to take Moer to play in the yard and stay there without causing trouble until she came.
Daer was originally pampered, but after being kicked out of the house, he could understand that they were not what they used to be. He had become much more sensible than before and took the initiative to take care of his younger brother so that Rong Yinshuang could concentrate more when doing things.
Rong Yinshuang closed the courtyard door properly.
Because she left her children alone at the temple, she didn’t take the main road but went around the alley and went to the silk village. The female treasurer was not there, so Rong Yinshuang found a store clerk in the store to ask. After getting the answer, she hurriedly took the sample map and rushed to the Taoist temple.
When passing through an alley, she suddenly caught a glimpse of a very familiar carriage. She stood at the entrance of the alley and looked at it for a while, only to find that she was really not mistaken. It was Zhao Qian’s carriage.
The carriage had stopped at the back door of a house. Rong Yinshuang couldn’t suppress the curiosity in her heart, so she secretly sneaked behind the carriage and saw that the coachman was napping.
There was no one around, so she lifted the corner of the curtain behind the carriage and looked inside, but did not see the white figure. ‘It seemed that it followed Zhao Qian.’
Suddenly there were footsteps in the back door. Rong Yinshuang hurriedly hid herself behind the coal bag next to him.
“Hmph, with four hundred taels, he wants to buy this house? Didn’t he inquire about the market price and why he was angry with me?” Zhao Qian’s sharp and caustic voice sounded at the back door.
Mei family’s housekeeper, Uncle Bao, followed Zhao Qian and said with a smile and respect, “Since the price is not suitable, Madam, you ignore him. The villain also thinks that this house is very good, even more expensive than eight hundred taels.”
Zhao Qian listened to Uncle Bao’s persuasion and not only did not lose her anger, but she became even more angry, pointing at Uncle Bao, whom she scolded. “What do you know as an old man? Do you think that after following Mei Yuan for a few years, you will know how to do business? Dare you to teach your madam? Hmph, no, the good dog is not in the way.”
After Zhao Qian finished scolding, she didn’t care about embarrassing Uncle Bao. She carried the skirt, angrily walked out the back door, and was about to get into the carriage, but suddenly stopped, twisted her eyebrows, glanced at the back door of the house, and said to herself, “If you have the ability, continue to make trouble! This lady is not afraid of your dead hoof!”
After that, she stepped on the back of one of her maids and stepped into the carriage.
Rong Yinshuang hid behind the coal bag and saw the scene that happened at the back door. Just when Zhao Qian was scolding the old man, the white figure suddenly flashed out from inside the door and was about to pounce on Zhao Qian, but who knew when she was about to touch Zhao Qian? She was bounced back by a golden light on Zhao Qian’s waist.
The carriage gradually went away, and Rong Yinshuang walked out from the coal pile and saw the ghostly figure walking through the wall dejectedly into the house.
Rong Yinshuang felt very puzzled. ‘Could it be that Zhao Qian had some treasures to ward off evil, so the ghosts could not get close?’
