Mrs. Mei's Survival Diary - Chapter 12.2
Chapter 12.2
Seeing the bloody face, Zhao Qian got very scared and stepped back quickly. There was no one in the room, and when she tried to escape the room, the door suddenly slammed shut with a bang.
Zhao Qian shook like a leaf and stepped back with trembling legs until her back hit a piece of furniture.
She felt pain in her back, and when she looked back, she saw a ghostly figure with a bleeding face.
“Ah!”
She was too scared to move, so she stood still and closed her eyes, praying that what she saw wasn’t real. Then she took a deep breath, opened her eyes, and saw nothing.
‘The scary thing was gone…’ Zhao Qian cried and sniffled. She looked around to make sure the scary thing was really gone, and then she felt a little better.
Zhao Qian felt a bit itchy on her cheeks. She thought her hair, which was arranged in a bun, had slipped off. She tried to touch the piece of hair on her face, but she could only touch something wet on her face. Panicked, she hurriedly wiped it with her fingers, and when she saw what was on her fingers, she gasped with fear: it was blood.
Zhao Qian subconsciously looked up and saw the ghost hanging upside down. Its hair was loose, and blood was coming from its eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. Blood fell on Zhao Qian’s face, one drop at a time.
Another loud and horrific scream echoed in the closed room.
Soon, she felt her neck being squeezed by two cold hands, and Qiu Rong’s pale face was almost touching hers. Zhao Qian felt like she couldn’t breathe and was really scared. She felt like she would die at this moment.
Suddenly, Qiu Rong’s cold voice was heard near Zhao Qian’s ears. “Remember how you killed me in this room? I want you to pay for it with your blood!”
Qiu Rong spoke loudly, and it hurt Zhao Qian’s ears. She was grabbed by the neck and couldn’t speak.
At the moment when she was about to die, she felt that she saw a light in front of her eyes: the darkness of the room suddenly disappeared, and the long-lost breath filled her lungs.
“I made a mistake; please don’t kill me. Please don’t kill me!”
“Madam…madam…”
The loud shouts of her maids made Zhao Qian feel even more excited. She ran around the yard, scratching her face and pulling out her hair.
The maids kept calling her for a while until she started to come out of her crazy state. Zhao Qian had makeup all over her face, and she was crying and had snot running down her face. She looked really scared.
When the maids saw she had come to her senses, they quickly asked, “Madam, what’s the matter?”
Zhao Qian didn’t respond, but she hugged her knees and curled up into a ball on the ground. When she realised she was sitting on the ground under the old locust tree, another shrill scream escaped from her mouth.
“Ah!”
Once again, Zhao Qian got up quickly and ran outside without looking. She tripped and fell, hurting her nose, but she didn’t stop. She kept crawling as if something was chasing her.
Uncle Bao saw everything from behind the stone lion. He saw that Zhao Qian was in a bad situation, but he was too scared to help. Later, Zhao Qian’s servants came out and helped her into a carriage, and they left quickly.
After they went away, Uncle Bao came out of the hiding place and headed towards the tea house in the city.
At the tea house, Rong Yinshuang was with her two kids, eating dim sum.
When Uncle Bao came in, Rong Yinshuang called to him.
Uncle Bao came over, sat across from Rong Yinshuang, and looked at the two children. Then he asked, “Are the two young masters alright?”
Rong Yinshuang smiled and said, “They are doing well. How are things going?”
Hearing Rong Yinshuang’s question, Uncle Bao quickly took the thing he had stolen from Zhao Qian and handed it to Rong Yinshuang.
Rong Yinshuang took it and looked at it.
Uncle Bao: “Madam, Zhao Qian ran out of the house madly not a quarter of an hour ago. The whole person was like a crazy woman. She ran out as if some invisible evil ghost was chasing her behind her.”
Rong Yinshuang listened to what Uncle Bao said vividly and couldn’t help but smile. ‘It turned out that Qiu Rong couldn’t get close to Zhao Qian’s body because of this. I didn’t expect an ordinary yellow paper talisman to have such power; it seems that I have to go back at night to have a pair of runes.’ She thought, looking at the thing in her hand.
Uncle Bao continued, “The person madam sent came to inform his boss that he was coming to look at the house, and it was really timely. Zhao Qian entered the courtyard immediately.”
Rong Yinshuang nodded and said, “Yes. I gave him five taels of silver.”
“Five taels of silver… That’s right, madam. But we lost a hundred taels of silver. We didn’t take much advantage of it.”
Rong Yinshuang raised her eyes to look at Uncle Bao, and her determined smile made Uncle Bao’s eyes roll.
“Madame, but there is still a trick?” He asked in a curious voice.
After Rong Yinshuang took a sip of tea, she smiled at Uncle Bao unfathomably and whispered something to Uncle Bao, which made Uncle Bao’s eyes light up.
He stood up immediately but was stopped by Rong Yinshuang again.
“Remember to go in ten days. Don’t go early; if Zhao Qian is not awake, things can’t be done.”
“Yes.”
