Noble Concubine Chun said a lot of good things about Li Zhi, but Shen Qingqing didn’t believe a word of it.

Although Shen Qingqing pretended to listen seriously, Noble Concubine Chun could feel the indifference beneath her sister-in-law’s smiling face.

They met Emperor Qingde and Li Zhi in the imperial garden. As the emperor decided to play with his daughters in the garden, Li Zhi took the initiative to leave.

Shen Qingqing felt sleepy on the way home. She was very tired because of the late-night activities, and this morning she went around visiting relatives. So she was exhausted both physically and mentally.

“Go back and have a rest,” Li Zhi said when he saw his young wife yawning several times.

“No need,” Shen Qingqing replied because she didn’t want to lose face in front of the Li family.

Although he released his young wife’s inner thoughts, Li Zhi didn’t try to persuade her.

It was almost noon when they arrived at home.

Li Zhi accompanied Shen Qingqing to the backyard.

Shen Qingqing said sleepily, “Master Marquis, please eat in the front yard. I’m going to sleep.”

“You better eat and sleep. Being hungry is not good for your health.”

Upon hearing Li Zhi’s words, Shen Qingqing glanced at him sideways. “No need.”

Li Zhi smiled bitterly and replied, “It’s up to you, madam.” After saying that, he stopped, and he went away.

It was already dark when Shen Qingqing woke up after a good sleep.

Stretching, Shen Qingqing called the maids.

Yu Chan came in alone and laughed softly. “Madam, you are awake. The Marquis has been here for a long time and has been reading outside. He specifically asked us not to disturb you.”

Shen Qingqing simply washed her face and combed her hair before going out of the room.

Yu Chan lifted the curtain, and Shen Qingqing looked outside and saw Li Zhi sitting on the warm couch by the window, facing her, holding a book in his hand.

Hearing the noise, he looked up.

“Why did the Marquis come so early?” Shen Qingqing asked politely in front of the maids.

Li Zhi put down the book with a smile, looked at her, and said, “I have nothing to do. Come over earlier to relieve my boredom with my wife.”

Shen Qingqing knew Li Zhi was mocking her, so she didn’t reply to him. “Let the kitchen prepare food.” She ordered her maids.

Yu Chan hurriedly went to give instructions to the little maid.

The spring breeze blew away the hot air in the evening.

Li Zhi followed Shen Qingqing outside and invited her for a walk. “I haven’t taken you to visit the Marquis Mansion yet. Why don’t you go for a walk now?”

Shen Qingqing was too lazy to walk with him now, so she replied, “Let’s go shopping tomorrow morning.”

Li Zhi smiled and said yes.

Shen Qingqing glanced at the man and inexplicably felt that the man looked happy.

‘He is really good at pretending. He must be furious because I rejected his invitation.’

Not long after the couple sat down, the maids brought out dinner, including shrimps and deer antler.

Shen Qingqing liked eating shrimps and couldn’t help but look over there a few more times.

When Li Zhi saw it, he picked up a piece of deer antler with serving chopsticks and handed it to her.

Shen Qingqing quickly blocked the bowl and asked with a frown. “What is this?” She had never seen it at her dinner table.

Li Zhi smiled and said, “Deer antler is quite delicious. Try it?”

Shen Qingqing didn’t want to try it. Even if she wanted to eat it, she didn’t need Li Zhi to pick it up for her.

So Shen Qingqing ignored Li Zhi and picked up the shrimps and ate them herself.

Li Zhi ate all the antlers’ bases in a leisurely manner.

Because she had nothing to say, she ate the meal very quickly. While Shen Qingqing was rinsing her mouth, she suddenly frowned. ‘It is getting dark, so after eating, I naturally had to go to bed…’

“I, I want to go outside for a walk.” Putting down the tea bowl, Shen Qingqing whispered to Li Zhi, “I wonder if the Marquis would like to go with us?”

She thought that after walking for some time, Li Zhi would get tired, and he would sleep as soon as he touched the pillow.
