Shen Qingqing was in a deep slumber, not stirring until she felt a heavy weight pressing down on her, nearly stealing her breath away. 

It seemed like Li Zhi was deliberately waiting for her to wake up. 

As soon as she opened her eyes, he began to fiddle with the waistband of her pants.

Still groggy, Shen Qingqing didn’t have the energy to push him away. She instinctively covered her belt with her hands and pleaded, “No, I’m so tired.”

Li Zhi, on the other hand, was wide awake. “It’ll just take a little time,” he said. His voice was low and soothing.

Shen Qingqing couldn’t match her husband’s strength, and before she knew it, Li Zhi had pulled her hands away, getting ready to untie her belt. In a panic, she wrapped her arms around his waist and pressed herself on him, making it tough for him to keep going.

Li Zhi also forgot about his movements and looked at his young wife in astonishment, who took the initiative to embrace him for the first time.

“I’m really sleepy, can you do it tomorrow night?” Shen Qingqing frowned and begged without opening her eyes.

Upon seeing that Li Zhi inexplicably thought of his niece, the second princess.

The second princess liked to go out of the palace to play. Last year during the Lantern Festival, the little girl went out with him to enjoy the lanterns. While enjoying the lanterns, the second princess fell asleep, with her little head resting on his shoulder. Li Zhi carried his niece and walked back. After taking a few steps, the second princess opened her eyes and muttered that she shouldn’t go back. Li Zhi tried to reason, but the second princess didn’t listen to anything and kept muttering, “No, no, no…”.

Looking at his young wife who was so sleepy that she was willing to hug him, Li Zhi couldn’t help but ask in a low voice, “Really not?”

Shen Qingqing nodded repeatedly.

Li Zhi thought for a moment and let her lie down first. Then he whispered into her ear, “Let me kiss you, and I will spare you.”

Shen Qingqing was so tired that she slipped into a light doze the moment she hit the bed. She nodded off, too sleepy to care about anything he wanted, as long as he let her get some rest.

With her permission, Li Zhi gently lifted her face and brushed his fingers over her soft lips. 

He leaned in slowly.

As soon as their lips met, Shen Qingqing instinctively turned away, not wanting to be disturbed.

Li Zhi quickly held her head in place.

Shen Qingqing still tried to pull away, her head moving around as she struggled. Li Zhi could tell she was on the verge of waking up, so he pulled back just in time, leaving him breathless.

When he rolled off her body, Shen Qingqing immediately fell asleep again.

Even though he stayed up late, Li Zhi made a point to wake up half an hour earlier the next day.

It was still dark outside, and Li Zhi pulled the blanket away from Shen Qingqing.

This time, no matter how much she pouted and pleaded, he wasn’t letting her off the hook.

After some shaking, Shen Qingqing finally woke up fully.

Li Zhi was breathing heavily, while Shen Qingqing clutched the blanket with one hand and covered her mouth with the other, just like always.

Having not seen her all day, Li Zhi wanted to chat with her.

“How was your day without me yesterday?” he asked softly, keeping his voice steady.

Shen Qingqing wasn’t in the mood for a conversation, so she replied quietly, “Hurry up.”

Li Zhi: …

Since his little wife asked for it, he had no choice but to go along with her.

The commander was almost ready, but he had no plans to pull back his forces just yet.

Shen Qingqing finally understood that her husband had misunderstood, and beat him while crying, “I want you to leave quickly!”

Li Zhi said angrily, “I see.”

Anyway, it was time to get ready for the court, so he quickly finished the task.

However, Shen Qingqing misunderstood that Li Zhi was still obedient, so she didn’t care about his madness just now.

After everything was done, Shen Qingqing huddled in bed as usual, waiting for Li Zhi to leave before cleaning up.

Li Zhi calmly slipped into his official robes. Before heading out, he leaned down to his young wife and asked, “What did you have for dinner last night? It left a sweet taste in your mouth.”

Shen Qingqing, lying in bed, was taken aback. ‘What did he mean by that?’

As her confusion grew, she started to recall some details. She remembered that Li Zhi had come home really late and had mentioned wanting to start a family.

Suddenly, Shen Qingqing threw off the covers and shot a glare at the man, “You’re so shameless!”

She couldn’t quite remember the moments leading up to his kiss, but she was certain that Li Zhi had kissed her while she was in a daze!

Li Zhi looked at her with soft eyes. “You did agree to it, Miss Seven. Maybe you’re not as opposed to me as you think.”

Shen Qingqing: “…”

Her eyes were practically on fire. ‘How could he not see that?’

“I’ll try to get back early tonight, so wait for me,” he said with a smile, giving her a knowing look before he left.
