A little while after Shen Su got back to the temple with Shen Qingqing and Shen Tingwen, Mrs. Shen arrived with Shen Wang, all out of breath.

“Mom” Shen Qingqing was sitting on the bed covered in a blanket, crying as she called out.

Her hair was very wet, and there was a bright red knife mark in the middle of her pale neck. Mrs. Shen felt very sad because someone hurt her little daughter. She quickly went to help her daughter and asked, “Are you hurt?”

Shen Qingqing nodded pitifully.

Around lunchtime, the sun was very hot. Shen Wang looked out of the window at the city wall, feeling excited. The heat came in through the small openings in the curtains.

“Put it down quickly.” Shen Qingqing hid behind the fan and urged her naughty brother.

Shen Wang did not want to listen.

Shen Qingqing was really grossed out and told her mom, “Mom, you should not have let my brother come into our carriage.”

Mrs. Shen smiled and asked, “Who told Brother Wang to like you? Now you don’t like your brother. When you were five or six years old, you always followed your third sister around, and people thought you were the third aunt’s daughter.”

Shen Qingqing didn’t remember much from her childhood, but when her mother talked about her third sister, something suddenly missed her a lot.

‘I really miss her a lot.’
