Chapter 2.1

On the day we received the certificate, it was sunny and the breeze was not dry. The most important thing was that I got off the night shift on time. It was rare that I had the right time, place, and people.

Teacher Lu came to pick me up, holding my household registration and his household registration in his hand (my household registration was moved to the house he bought, and his household registration was at T University).

“When I woke up, I really wanted to get the certificate. Let’s go to the Civil Affairs Bureau,” he said.

I said, “Okay,” almost without thinking.

I walked a few steps before remembering. “You don’t seem to have proposed. Without a proposal, the marriage feels incomplete.”

“You have already called me “husband.” Why are you so polite?”

I thought for a while. “When?” I always called him Teacher Lu, or Lao Lu.

“In bed last night, who said that my husband spared me?”

Before I could finish speaking, Teacher Lu kneeled down on one knee. It looked like he had practiced it many times, and a platinum diamond ring appeared in his hand. “Shen Hanxiao, don’t talk too much; marry me. Give it to me. I don’t dare talk about glory and wealth, but I guarantee that your descendants will have both IQ and beauty.”

No matter how I heard it, I felt like he was praising himself, but why was I so excited?

I covered my mouth and smiled. “What if I don’t agree?”

He put the ring on my ring finger and kissed it. “You stretched out your hand, and you’re still pretending!”

“I’m jealous for the sake of the ring. Hey! Does this diamond have a carat? I will regret it at any time if it is less than 2 carats. Hey, does it have eight stars and eight swords?” 

“Yes, you have everything you want. It’s my turn to ask for it next.”

‘Eh? When proposing, doesn’t the woman just have to say yes or no? Is there anything else?’

Teacher Lu’s eyes were fixed on my face.

Me: “What do you want? I haven’t prepared anything. How about I give you some supplies tonight?”

“Shut up.” Teacher Lu suddenly growled, and his warm hands covered my eyes. “I want to kiss you.”

I was dizzy. I was even more dizzy after the brutal kiss. As a result, I was confused throughout the entire process. I gave him whatever he asked and only said one word when answering questions. “Hmm.” 

When I came to my senses, I was already holding the bright red book. 

I couldn’t believe that the marital status column on the household registration book had changed from “single” to “married” in just a few dozen minutes.

After taking the commemorative photo in the hall, Teacher Lu let out a long breath. “I finally have a status.”

On the way, I fell asleep right when I got in the car and didn’t know how I went upstairs. I woke up on the comfy bed, and the bedroom smelled like chicken and mushrooms, and it made me want to eat, so I got out of bed.

He was busy in the kitchen, making phone calls and cutting green peppers. “Well, it’s ok that one person in the family can cook; I will be responsible for it. I just need to be responsible for eating… Yeah, yeah, I know, Mom. I’ll take off the night shift with a smile and let her sleep more.”

[Tl: “Smile” is the nickname of Shen Hanxiao.]

After he finished talking on the phone, he looked very happy when he saw me and asked, “Are you awake?”

I stood at the doorway and said, “I thought you had to kneel down to talk to my mother on the phone after you were promoted to the son-in-law of the Shen family.”

“I want to kneel, but our mother says no. Our mom loves me the most.” 

He had already smoothly started to call our mother instead of our aunt. He called my mother “mom” with love, just like he called his own mother.

I lifted the pot lid and used chopsticks to check if the chicken was cooked. I said, “The soup is done; please give me a bowl.”

“I thought I would give you a kiss when I help you serve things after we get married.”

Hearing his words, I went on my tiptoes and kissed him three times on the forehead. Then I walked to the living room and asked for three bowls to be brought there.

Lying on the sofa, she stretched out her body in a second and was fed five bowls by Teacher Lu while I was half asleep. Then there was nothing more. I was woken up by a life-threatening call and summoned back to the hospital to participate in the emergency rescue.

On the wedding night, Teacher Lu stayed alone in the empty room, feeling a little melancholy, but I was very happy because the rescue was successful!

When I stepped into the house again, Teacher Lu, who had been hungry for several days, threw me on the bed without saying a word. “If you come out to fool around, you will have to pay it back sooner or later!”
