I have been passive in preparing for my wedding. Seeing my friend Su Zhiwei lose a lot of weight during her wedding, I became even more frightened.

“Hey, can we skip the wedding ceremony? Anyway, I’m yours now, so nothing will change whether we have a ceremony or not,” I asked Teacher Lu.

Teacher Lu was also afraid of wedding ceremonies, but he couldn’t go against the elders of the two families, especially my father. He didn’t want to send away his daughter without a ceremony, so Teacher Lu couldn’t do anything at all. Therefore, I had no choice but to trouble Teacher Lu. 

 “You don’t have to worry about anything. Leave everything to me, and just show up on time,” he said thoughtfully.

Teacher Lu knew that my clinical work was difficult, and he took the whole burden for himself. Luckily, some people knew that he also has a lot of research and teaching work, so they helped with the boring tasks.

 So the two families joined together to help with the wedding, and it became teamwork.

 So I think I was the least stressed-out bride ever.

 My sister-in-law Lulu made the wedding dress herself, and I just helped to choose different styles. 

 Teacher Lu made the wedding ring by melting a meteorite and using a 3D printer. I suggested changing the design. How could a man with a science degree be considered creative?

 My aunt paid for the wedding party, and all the ingredients came from my aunt’s farm, which was very natural and free from pollution.

 My parents and Teacher Lu organised drinks.

 The wedding candy was heart-shaped chocolates from Godiva, and they were sponsored by Brother Lu and Sister-in-law Lu, who lived in Europe.

 My husband’s parents bought a special wedding cake with a “Happy Flowers and Full Moon” design as a keepsake.

 Teacher Lu made the invitations, and my father-in-law wrote them all carefully with a brush. The two old people distributed the invitations.

 Even my sister racked her brains every day to plan the wedding.

It was my wedding, but in the end, I didn’t get involved.

I said in the group. “Looking at how busy you are, how about I also be responsible for something?”

 They said, “Make sure you get good sleep and try to look fresh and rested.”

I was lying on the bed, as happy as I could be.

Before the wedding, in the dead of night, we were lying down and talking.

Me: “This is the last time I’m asking, and I won’t ask again in the future. Why did you pick me?”

Teacher Lu: “It starts with appearance, focuses on talent, and is loyal to character.”

I rolled my eyes and said, “Honestly, can you try to come up with something new?”

Teacher Lu looked at me and said, “Both talent and character matter, but appearance is also important.”

Me: “I regret marrying you!”

Teacher Lu patted my head and told me I had to be good and accept my fate on the pirate ship.

After some time, he came to hug me. He asked, “Why did you choose me?”

 ‘Your eyes look bright when you talk to me.

 When I’m with you, I feel happy and full of love.

 Because of you, I am the person I am today.’
