He looked sincere, but Yu Hongdou always felt that there was some hidden meaning in his words. Although she was still frustrated, she didn’t want to keep pestering in front of the driver, so she said magnanimously, “Since Mr. He didn’t mean it, it doesn’t matter whether you pay or not. I will put this jacket back on today, and I will return it to Mr. He when we meet later.” 

He Yunqin seemed to have seen through her thoughts, smiled, and neither said yes nor no; he just raised his chin to the driver and said, “Send Miss Yu home.” 

Yu Hongdou put on a thin woollen coat and sat on the seat as if nothing had happened.

Then the car took off. 

On the way home, Yu Hongdou’s eyes fell on the woollen coat she was wearing.

It seemed brand new, and since it was bought from the He mansion, it would mostly belong to a female member of the He family.

‘Miss He’s or Duan Mingyi’s, the young mistress?’

As soon as the latter name came to her mind, she immediately denied it. ‘How could He Yunqin ask his sister-in-law for clothes? What’s more, when I met Duan Mingyi that day, she was plumper than me. Hmmm, but Miss He is thinner than me. So this could belong to someone similar to me. Oh, could it be the elder Miss He who I have never met before?’

As soon as the car arrived at the intersection of her home, she asked the driver to stop the car so she could get out of it.

When she went out at noon, she was only wearing a sweater with trousers, but when she came back, she was wearing a coat. At this time, she walked slowly towards Jiana, always feeling uncomfortable.

Yu Chongyi was so careless that he didn’t notice the extra coat on his sister.

Yu Hongdou looked around, took off the coat while her mother was not in the living room, and walked into the house as if nothing had happened. “I’ll tell you about Peter Wang later. Is there any news about Cousin Yuqi?”

“No, but I have already found out who the man was talking to her about that day.”

Hong Dou hurriedly turned her head. “Who is it?”

At this moment, Mrs. Yu came out of the back room, first noticed Hongdou’s limping leg, and then, when she found the overcoat she was holding on her arm, she was taken aback for a moment. She then hurried there and asked hurriedly, “What’s wrong with your feet? Where did you get this cloth?”
