Chapter 15.3

After eating, Yu Chongyi wanted to return to the police station. When he left, he told Yu Hongdou, “Brother has some work in the police station; you go back to school, and I’ll come back to pick you up.”

“Okay, brother, be careful.” Yu Hongdou smiled and waved to her brother.

When her brother got on the tram, she saw that He Yunqin was still there. She thought he was waiting for the bus, so she walked over and stuffed the coat in He Yunqin’s hands.

“Here, I’m giving the coat back, Mr. He.” After all, she didn’t bother. Seeing He Yunqin’s expression, she proudly walked to the bicycle and rode away.

As soon as He Yunqin got home, a servant came to greet him and said, “The second young master is back. Madam was just talking about you, and now she is resting. The young mistress and the fourth young lady are in the living room.”

He Yunqin lazily put one hand in his pocket, gave the coat to the servant, and told her to keep it in his elder sister’s room. But then he realised that his elder sister would not wear a dress someone had already worn, so he changed his mind.

“Take it to my room,” he said to the servant.

He Yunqin checked the time on his watch. His mom had gone to take a nap, and it would take at least 30 minutes for her to wake up. His sister-in-law and the fourth sister were in the living room, so he didn’t want to go inside.

He stood on the porch steps and lit a cigarette. After a while, his gaze moved from the sky to his old bicycle, parked under a tree.

He looked at the bike for a while, then went down the steps and squatted down to look at the wires on the back seat. The longer he stared at the wires, the more he thought they looked ugly. He looked back and saw Uncle Li cutting the bushes in front of the door, and he asked if Uncle Li had a wrench.

Uncle Li quickly looked in the toolbox, found a wrench, and brought it over.

He Yunqin grabbed the tool, turned the wire in the bicycle’s back seat, and checked to make sure there was no more wire coming outside the seat.

At this time, He Zhuyun came out to look for him after hearing the servant’s words. “Second brother, you won’t enter the house when you come back; I’m still waiting for you to help me pick out gifts.”

Looking around, she saw He Yunqin squatting in front of the bicycle, doing something. “Hey, second brother, are you repairing the bicycle?” She asked with a surprised smile.

He Yunqin got up and touched his chin. He was a little confused, but he gave the wrench to Uncle Li and told He Zhuyun, “Come on, let’s see what gifts you have for us.”
