Qin Xuekai hesitated for a moment. It wouldn’t be right to go to class carrying so many snacks. But his car was parked outside, so he thought it would be smarter to put the snacks back in the car before heading to the school gate.

Miss Yu seemed very courteous towards Senior Qin, so she nodded and added, “Senior Qin and Senior Sister Yu are both top students at our school. They often interact due to fellowship activities.”

Duan Mingyi picked up on the protective tone in her voice and smiled softly, “That’s why I always encourage you to connect with these high-achieving students. It helps expand your perspective and sparks your interest in learning. Accumulating knowledge little by little will be incredibly beneficial down the line.”

He Zhujun smiled back and said, “You’re absolutely right, Sister-in-law. I’ve taken note of that. I’ll make sure to get involved in more fellowship activities at school from now on.”

“Looks like the second young master of the He family is determined to look out for Yu Chongyi’s sister. He even sent her to the school gate,” one of them said.

At first, he thought he must have misheard, but after some reflection, he realized that even if he had misheard the name “He Yunqin”, there was no way he could have misheard Yu Hongdou’s name.

Looking at those guys again, he realised they were police officers from the police department by their clothes. The one in front had a rather sly look and seemed very familiar. After a moment of thought, he recognised him as the notorious Director Bai.

He was known for his interest in various extracurricular activities and often collaborated with several local universities to organise events. Because of this, he picked up a lot of gossip about other schools. Just a few days ago, he heard that a student from the Women’s Normal University had dropped out for no apparent reason. Later, it was revealed that she had been forced to become a concubine by this Director Bai.

‘Based on what the cops just mentioned, could it be that Director Bai has his eyes on Hongdou again? But why did He Yunqin come up with this?’
