Chapter 30.2 – Mountain Hidden

Bai Xingfan didn’t show up for the next week, so Su Yan thought he had given up on herself this time. But her thoughts didn’t last long as he suddenly appeared on the set. After that, he came once a week.

But it was only a short visit, sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon, and sometimes he would leave after staying for only two hours.

Every time he came, he would bring some small gifts for the whole crew, such as a mini air conditioner necessary for hot weather, a box of Haagen-Dazs for everyone, or invite the whole crew to eat one meal.

Su Yan was very helpless. She felt anxious, angry, and wronged when she realised that the entire crew thought she was his true girlfriend. However, she was unable to express her feelings because doing so would make them much more uncomfortable and would revoke her ability to speak regarding the script. All she could do was reluctantly accept Bai Xingfan’s performance.

She was sure that the man was doing this to evoke her feelings.

She had communicated with Bai Xingfan privately more than once, asking him not to come again, but every time the reason he gave was so high-sounding that she couldn’t refute it. “Since I promised that I would take good care of Ms. Su within these three months, I will never break my word.”

Her persuasion was fruitless; he came every week, and the frequency was so fixed that she was almost used to it.

It was the end of August in a blink of an eye.

The filming was finished on August 25th, and the whole crew had a meal together before they went back to their respective houses.

On the 24th night, Su Yan got a message from Bai Xingfan: [I’ll pick you up tomorrow afternoon].

Su Yan: [You don’t need to pick me up.]

She didn’t get a reply, but she knew that he wouldn’t listen to her that much and would definitely come.

However, when the crew’s farewell meal was about to come to an end, Su Yan received a message from Bai Xingfan.

[Sorry, I will arrange for a driver to pick you up because suddenly I have something to deal with.]

Seeing the message, Su Yan felt upset. She knew she shouldn’t have any feelings or emotions towards Bai Xingfan. But she couldn’t control herself.

She stared at the message for a while and replied, [It’s ok. Anyway, I have an appointment with a friend.]

Bai Xingfan: [Who?]

Su Yan angrily closed the dialogue box with Bai Xingfan and messaged her friend, Yao Anan. [Hey, are you free in the afternoon?]

About an hour later, Su Yan pulled her suitcase to the west gate of the film and television city. After waiting for ten minutes, a white Honda Civic slowly stopped in front of her. “Get in the car!” Yao Anan said it with a big smile.

Su Yan: “I still have a suitcase.”

“Oh yes.” Yao Anan hurriedly opened the trunk for her.

After putting her luggage into the trunk, Su Yan sat on the co-pilot, fastened her seatbelt, and asked, “Where are we going to get the secret recipe?”

“A high-end club.” Yao Anan adjusted the navigation while replying, “The name is very elegant. It is called Shanyinxuan.”

Su Yan: “A good literary name.”

Yao Anan looked at where they needed to go on the navigation and sighed. “The place is still very far away, in an old forest on a tall mountain. It reminds me of a peaceful scene from a poem by Tao Yuanming.”

Su Yan quickly imagined a bumpy path up the mountain and couldn’t help but worry. “Is your car suitable for driving there?”

Yao Anan: “This is a Civic! How can I not? I’m too good!”

Su Yan: ‘This is so arrogant.’ But she gave her sister a face very much. “Yes, that’s right! You are the best!”

“That’s it!” Yao Anan raised the corners of her lips in satisfaction and stepped on the accelerator.

Shanyinxuan was located on a far-away mountain, 30 kilometers from Dongfu. It would take around three and a half hours to go by car from the film and television City.

Su Yan and Yao Anan started their journey in the afternoon. They chatted and laughed as they went, not noticing how quickly time was passing. They reached their destination before it started to get dark.

But they encountered an unexpected situation there.

The Shanyinxuan was a fancy, old-style wooden building in a forest with bamboo. It looked very graceful, but they couldn’t see it because security guards stopped them near the gate.

A young man who worked as a security guard, wearing a black uniform, stood next to the driver’s window and asked, “Can you please show me your invitation?”

Yao Anan responded with a blank expression and a strong tone, “We’re here to look for someone, but we didn’t receive an invitation. ”

The security guard replied mercilessly, “Sorry, no entry is allowed without an invitation.”

Yao Anan was confused and turned to Su Yan, who was sitting next to her. “What do I do? I don’t think my master got an invitation.”

Su Yan suggested moving the car to the side and then calling the master or the chef for information.

This was the only way to do it now. Yao Anan felt annoyed, so she turned the car around and parked it on the side of the road up the mountain.

The two got out of the car. Yao Anan first called her master, but no one answered, and then called the chef again, but no one answered.

Yao Anan was getting upset because no one answered her calls. She wondered if the other person was joking around.

Su Yan quickly reassured her sister, saying, “Since we don’t have anything else to do, let’s go on a trip and appreciate the breathtaking mountains.”

Yao Anan glanced around and honestly said, “I don’t like this view of the dark mountain. ”

Su Yan: “… ”

Now, the sky was very dark except for the street lamps on the sides of the mountain road. The rest of the place was completely without light.

During the summer, the trees provide a lot of shade. At night, the shadows are very dark and could be a little frightening. Overall, the climate in the mountains was quite shady.

It was not a nice place to look at the view.

However, they were unable to move towards the top of the mountain at the moment. There were very serious security guards in front of them, and there was a black door behind the security booth. If they don’t have an invitation letter, they won’t be allowed in through the door.

When Su Yan and Yao Anan didn’t know what to do, a white Rolls-Royce car suddenly went past them. Then it stopped very close to them, about five meters away. The door of a car was opened, and a teenager wearing a white suit came out of the car. He shouted happily at Su Yan and called her. “Sister Yanyan. ”

When Su Yan heard the voice, she was shocked and asked, “Is that Xinglan?”

Bai Xinglan quickly came in front of Su Yan, looking excited and asking, “Sister Yanyan, are you waiting for my brother?”

Su Yan was very surprised and asked, “Your brother is also here?”

Bai Xinglan agreed and said, “Yes, today is a sister’s birthday party. My brother and this sister are close friends, so he will definitely come.”
