The day before the Qixi Festival, Su Yan and Bai Xingfan met with a famous Chinese dress designer to plan a special wedding dress.

Actually, Su Yan was still hesitant about the wedding, so she didn’t really want to have a ceremony.

But both of her parents were very worried about it, especially Bai Xingfan, who kept sending her different wedding ideas.

Also, her future mother-in-law suggested a lot of famous wedding dress designers, and she also helped to get in touch with them.

Bai Xingfan’s mother was very caring and wanted to make sure that Su Yan didn’t suffer in this marriage. This made Su Yan feel grateful but also stressed because she didn’t want to disappoint Bai Xingfan’s mother. Most importantly, she didn’t want Bai Xingfan to be treated unfairly, and it was not right for him to not have a wedding.
So, she was able to overcome her fear and find the courage to decide to have a wedding.

She liked Chinese weddings more than Western weddings, but it would take a long time to make Chinese dresses because they had to be sewn by hand. Therefore, they needed to book them at least six months in advance.

On the day they came to check the wedding dress, the sky was very dark, and it started to rain before they got to the designer’s studio.

Watching the rain through the car window, Su Yan looked worried and asked, “Is the rain going to get heavier?”

Bai Xingfan said, “It’s just a shower.”

Su Yan said, “I don’t like when it rains; I prefer sunny days.”

Bai Xingfan looked up and smiled gently, saying, “Every day in the future will be a happy day.”

Su Yan said, “We will talk about what happens in the future later. I just want tomorrow to be sunny. We don’t know if it will happen or not.”

Bai Xingfan was a little surprised and asked, “What will happen if not?”

Su Yan slyly blinked and asked, “Can you guess?”

Bai Xingfan said, “I feel silly because I can’t understand what Miss Su is thinking. But I do have some ideas.”

Su Yan: “Huh?”

Bai Xingfan spoke softly but with a feeling of pressure. “If Miss Su breaks her promise tomorrow, I will take you to the Civil Affairs Bureau.”

Su Yan said, “…”

She couldn’t stop herself from rolling her eyes and saying, “How is this different from a bandit leader stealing from a civilian girl?”

Bai Xingfan: “Of course not. The bandits are hegemonic and oppressive to the women, but Miss Su and I are in love with each other.”

Su Yan was surprised. “You are too controlling, and you often make me feel oppressed.”

Bai Xingfan frowned and asked, “When did I make you feel oppressed?”

Su Yan: “When I went to a store, I wanted to buy a type of mattress, but you didn’t want me to.”

She looked upset; her mouth was pouted, like a child who didn’t get what they wanted.

Bai Xingfan smiled and had to explain again. “The mattress is too soft and not good for your waist.”

“Ugh.” Su Yan looked unhappy and said, “You are bossy.”

Bai Xingfan: “If I were really bossy, I wouldn’t let you buy those lamps.”

Su Yan still didn’t believe it. “What’s wrong with my desk lamp? It looked so nice.”

While she was shopping, she really liked a pair of bamboo lamps. The small lampshades were made of thin bamboo material and had text on them written by a skilled calligrapher: “Pure Heart.”.

After the yellow candle was lit, the gentle light would show the smooth writing on it. It looked warm and peaceful, like an old temple.

Back then, Su Yan immediately fell in love with a pair of lamps. She thought they looked trendy, and they reminded her to stay calm, so she bought them without hesitation.
