Bai Xingfan looked calm as Su Yan stared at him with fear in her eyes. He asked her if she believed what Xie Yu said.

Su Yan was shocked but eventually started to think more clearly.

‘Why should I pay attention to what Xie Yu said? Can I trust Xie Yu? Don’t you know that Xie Yu is the most untrustworthy person in the world for me?’

‘Why am I going to question her fiancé because of Xie Yu’s lies? I shouldn’t have doubted Bai Xingfan about that. I should trust him completely.’

But Xie Yu’s words hurt her deeply, making it hard for her to ignore or understand.

‘Why was Bai Xingfan near the hotel on the wedding day if he wasn’t the one? Is it just by chance?’

Why do I need bodyguards? Is it because of the murder news? Or is it to stop Xie Yu from getting close to me and telling the truth?’

Doubtful thoughts overcame Su Yan’s heart, and she couldn’t utter a word.

But she wanted to believe him, to get a reason to stop doubting him, because she was in love with him now, and they were going to get the certificate tomorrow. If he was really as beastly as Xie Yu said, then everything she has now became an illusion. Then wouldn’t she have become just a pet that he could play with?

She couldn’t accept this possibility, and she even began to hate Xie Yu. ‘I’m very happy now, and why did Xie Yu come to destroy my happiness? And does he have any evidence?

But she would rather live in false happiness than become a frightened bird and live uneasily every day.

Bai Xingfan saw her indecision but did not defend himself and said calmly, “Of course, you can choose to believe him, but who can prove that he didn’t lie to you?”

‘Yes, who can prove it? Only Jiang Qi.’

‘Could it be that Bai Xingfan also threatened Jiang Qi to destroy her and Xie Yu’s wedding? How is this possible? He didn’t know Jiang Qi at all. What’s more, does he have the ability to cover the sky with one hand?’

Also, a few days ago, she heard from Yao Anan that a classmate who went to Xie Yu’s father’s funeral saw Jiang Qi. She was always with Xie Yu, and everyone in the Xie family treated her as a prospective daughter-in-law.

‘If Jiang Qi was also threatened, why was she still steadfast towards Xie Yu? Why did Xie Yu allow her to stay with him all the time? Shouldn’t he hate her to the bone? Can the whole family think she is his fiancée?’

This made no sense. Jiang Qi was a paradox.

But why did Xie Yu do this? Just to alienate her and Bai Xingfan and make her doubt and fear him? To make her live with doubts every day?

Or, he just couldn’t see her finding her own happiness? So desperate to come to sabotage?

When did she offend Xie Yu?

Xie Yu was not such a person with an extreme personality.

Everything didn’t make sense, and Su Yan felt that her head was about to explode.

Now, she just wanted a reason to trust Bai Xingfan.

She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and then looked up into his eyes. “Can I trust you?”

Bai Xingfan looked calm and said firmly, “Of course you can.”

Su Yan: “What if you lied to me?”

Bai Xingfan was noncommittal and asked, “Do you believe him or me?”

Su Yan: “I…”

‘I do not know either. I can’t trust you wholeheartedly.’

Bai Xingfan sighed lightly, cupped her cheeks with both hands and reminded her gently, “Yanyan, the person you love now is me.”
