‘Is this Xie Yu?’ Su Yan was caught unawares by the unexpected message, and the happiness she felt a moment ago vanished into thin air.

All the memories of Xie Yu started playing in her mind. If she hadn’t gotten this message, she wouldn’t remember Xi Yu at all.

Not unintentionally forgotten, but deliberately.

Some things were too painful; therefore, she had to choose to forget about a certain person; otherwise, it would be too hard to live. 

However, this brief message quickly brought back painful memories from the past that she had tried to forget.

She felt her heart beating fast and had trouble breathing.

Su Yan took some time to control her emotions, and after pondering for a while, she chose to reply to the message.

She thought she had to talk to Xie Yu and make a clear break because she didn’t want Xie Yu to appear in her and Bai Xingfan’s lives. Moreover, they were expecting a baby now, and she didn’t want any other drama in her life. She wanted to live a good life for her child and wanted her child to be born into a happy family.

She wouldn’t care about anything as long as her child could grow up safe and healthy with Bai Xingfan.

So she had to make it clear to Xie Yu where the boundary was. Even though it wasn’t right for Xie Yu, she didn’t have any other options.

After thinking about it, she typed a paragraph in the box, but then she realised something before sending it: ‘Why didn’t Xie Yu say things directly? Why was only the word “Yanshan” posted? Is someone watching him? Or is he worried that someone is watching me? Or maybe both.’

She met Xie Yu in the elevator before getting married but never saw him again or heard from him. It looked like he had disappeared from the world.

‘Did Bai Xingfan pressure the Xie family, causing his family to control him?’ 

After hesitating for a long time, she replied, [The anniversary promotion of Hey Tea in Mixc City: the second cup is half price; please come.]

Ten minutes later, the driver parked the car in the underground parking lot of Vientiane City.

Su Yan took only the female bodyguard to the mall.

She didn’t know if the male bodyguard would tell Bai Xingfan about the situation, but since she didn’t get a call from Bai Xingfan at the hospital earlier, it seemed the male bodyguard did not report to Bai Xingfan.

In addition, she had been following the rules a lot lately, so she could tell he was not as worried and suspicious as he used to be when they first got married.

She walked into Mixc City and went to the first floor. Then she took the escalator to the first floor. Instead of going to Hey Tea right away, she went to a store that sells things for moms and babies.

The store looked cosy with its decorations. 

She walked around slowly and then stopped at a shelf.

She saw a bunch of baby shoes nicely organised on the shelf in front of her. Seeing that, Su Yan couldn’t help but think about her baby’s white, tender, fat feet. It made her feel happy and gentle, and her lips formed a nice smile.

After looking at different shoes, she decided to buy a pair of pink shoes and wanted to give them as a gift for Bai Xingfan. But then she grabbed a pair of blue baby shoes from the shelf instead.

After paying, she left the store.

The female bodyguard had been keeping a close eye on her.

When Su Yan got to Hey Tea, she ordered two drinks and then sat by the big windows facing the street. She asked the female bodyguard to sit with her.

Ten minutes after that, the glass door quickly pushed open, and a young man wearing a black sweater came into the Hey Tea shop.

He had a tall and thin body, and he was wearing a black hat and a black mask, only revealing his sad eyes.

Even though the man’s face was partly hidden, Su Yan quickly knew who he was just by seeing his eyes.
