Chapter 65.1 – Help

More than a month later, Bai Xingfan was released from the hospital.

Su Yan and her companion returned to Dongfu, packed their things, and travelled to Linchuan Ancient Town as planned.

After more than two years of development, the formerly obscure ancient village has been effectively transformed into a high-end tourist and convalescent destination.

The day they arrived here was sunny. The blue sky was clear, and golden sunlight fell on every part of the historic town, illuminating the river that ran through the town, the bluestone bridges, and the gently curled leaves.

Their accommodation was already prepared by the person in charge of the ancient town.

Su Yan suddenly noticed something as she approached the familiar courtyard’s door and cast a stealthy glance at someone.

The man remained calm, as if he knew nothing.

The White Star Brahma God remained quiet, as if he didn’t know anything.

Su Yan stated indifferently as she entered the yard and closed the door. “You have long wanted to know what it looks like here, right?”

Bai Xingfan remained cool and asked, “How could that be?” He graciously reminded her, “I’ve been to Miss Su’s house for dinner before.”

Su Yan looked at him and asked, “Oh, I asked the wrong question. Okay, I’ll ask again. You have long wanted to live here, right?”

“Yes. For a few more things.” Bai Xingfan replied directly.

Su Yan huffed. “Only a few?”

Bai Xingfan couldn’t help laughing. “How else should I answer?”

Su Yan: “You obviously miss me so much that you secretly think about me next door every day!”

Bai Xingfan did not refute. “Whatever Miss Su says is what it is.”

Su Yan snorted, “You big pervert!” She lamented, “I asked you to eat with good intentions, but you had evil intents towards me. You’re such a sinister person. Why didn’t I notice it at the time?” Her gorgeous brows were slightly furrowed, and her cherry-red lips were slightly pouted, giving her an especially cute and attractive appearance.

Seeing that, the man did his best to bear it and eventually controlled the temptation.He took a long breath and said calmly, “Come in.”

Su Yan didn’t think much and took out her suitcase, saying, “Oh.”

After passing through the neat and tidy garden, they arrived at the front door of the house. This was a two-story building that had been renovated. The previously discoloured and peeling external wall had been restored, and the walls were painted white. The decaying old wooden door had been replaced by an antique double-opening rosewood door.

When they pushed open the door, the living room, which was converted into a modern Chinese style with sofas, a coffee table, central air conditioning, and a projection TV, came to the sight.

The previously boring cement floor was transformed into a bright and elegant tile floor that appeared rather posh.

Compared to the shabby house two years ago, this was really amazing, and Su Yan couldn’t believe her eyes. “Wow. So many changes.”

Bai Xingfan asked her opinion, “How do you feel?”

“It’s pretty good.” Su Yan said truthfully, “It suddenly became something I can’t afford to live in.”

Upon hearing the woman’s words, Bai Xingfan didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Su Yan entered the house with her suitcase, glanced around, and asked, “Has the structure of the house remained the same?”

Bai Xingfan also entered the house, saying, “Well, the previous structure was good, so I didn’t change it.”

“Oh.” Su Yan wanted to see what the bedroom looked like, so she put the luggage on the floor and headed to the first-floor bedroom. When she opened the door, she was taken aback by the scene in front of her. “Where’s the bed?!”

Everything was there except a bed.

“Maybe it hasn’t been installed yet,” Bai Xingfan said seriously.

Su Yan refused to believe his gibberish and gazed at him fiercely, “Did you do this on purpose?”

The house had just two bedrooms: one above and one downstairs. There were no beds below, so they had to sleep together upstairs.

Bai Xingfan frowned slightly with innocent eyes. “What am I doing on purpose?”

Su Yan said, “You are plotting something bad against me!”

Bai Xingfan let out a gentle breath. “If you want to live on the first floor, I can arrange for someone to move a bed over immediately, but I’m a little worried about my health.”

Su Yan was confused. “What’s wrong with your body?”

Bai Xingfan was shaking his head while speaking, “I don’t want to trouble you, but if I accidentally press on my wound when I turn over in the middle of the night, it may make the injury worse.”

Su Yan: “… ”

She always felt that this man was trying to play tricks on her, but she also felt that what he said made a lot of sense.

Bai Xingfan lowered his eyes and said in a low voice, “If you think I’m a burden, you can ignore me.”

Su Yan: “…”

After chewing her bottom lip and struggling for a while, she eventually agreed with the villain, who pretended to be the most pitiful. “Okay then.” She admonished him again, “But you can’t be a hooligan to me.”

Bai Xingfan appeared sincere as he said, “Miss Su, please be certain. I am very weak now.”

Su Yan stated, “I would believe anyone who says this in the world, except you.” She stared at him, then headed towards the stairs with her suitcase.
