Chapter 66.2 – A Marriage from Heaven

Bai Xingfan walked to the kitchen to wash the dishes after the meal, and Su Yan also went to the kitchen after merely wiping the coffee table.

Bai Xingfan stood straight in front of the sink, cleaning the dishes beneath the water pipe as the water flowed.

“Are you still busy this afternoon?” inquired Su Yan as she approached the man.

Bai Xingfan: “Not too busy.”

Su Yan: “Oh.”

Bai Xingfan noticed something and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Su Yan: “Nothing, just asking.” After saying that, she left the kitchen.

When Bai Xingfan emerged from the kitchen, Su Yan was reading a novel on her tablet sitting on the sofa.

He didn’t disturb her as she was deeply absorbed in her reading. He started checking his emails while seated in front of the computer.

Su Yan lifted her eyelids and gave the man a hazy look. “Are you done?” she questioned him after setting down the tablet an hour later.

“What’s up?” Bai Xingfan asked as soon as he stopped typing on the keyboard.

Su Yan responded, “If you haven’t finished your work yet, go ahead and finish your work first.”

“It’s almost finished; this is the last email,” Bai Xingfan stated softly.

Su Yan: “All right.”

Then she sat on the sofa again and waited for him obediently.

Shortly after that, Bai Xingfan shut off the computer, got off the stool, went to the living room.

“Boss Bai, please sit down,” Su Yan urged, patting the sofa.

Bai Xingfan sat down, grinning helplessly, not knowing what she was up to.

Su Yan stood up, and they sat on the man’s legs while hugging his neck. “You ignored me all morning. I sat opposite you and looked at you several times, but you didn’t even look at me. I thought you didn’t love me anymore,” she muttered with a frown.

Bai Xingfan was amused by the woman’s words. “It’s my fault. I apologise to you.”

“You might as well go to work in the company,” Su Yan moaned once again. “Then I can’t see you, at least. So I’ll not miss you. Now…”

However, before she could finish her words, Bai Xingfan interrupted her: “Don’t you miss me?”

Su Yan: “…”

‘Why don’t I miss you?’

“That’s not what I meant!”

Bai Xingfan raised his eyebrows. “What does Mrs. Bai mean?”

Su Yan said seriously, “I miss you so much that I can’t even eat or drink. I can’t even sleep well without you.”

Bai Xingfan: “Really?”

Bai Xingfan didn’t say anything more. He just picked her up from the sofa and walked towards the stairs.

Su Yan was confused and hung on him like a koala. “Where are you going?”

Bai Xingfan said righteously, “Let you sleep.”

Su Yan: “I’m not sleepy!”

Bai Xingfan remained calm and said, “That’s right; I can pay the protection fee.”

Su Yan was furious. “I don’t want to collect it now!”

Bai Xingfan slowly opened his lips and said, “I will hand it over on my own initiative.”

However, when she was marinating the meat, she remembered that there was no salt at home—the last spoonful of salt was used up when she was making dinner—so she pulled Bai Xingfan out the door.

“I remember there was a lot left yesterday; why is there nothing left today?” She whispered softly as she closed the gate.

“It’s still early,” Bai Xingfan remarked, glancing at his watch. “After shopping, let’s explore the city.”

With no disagreement, Su Yan said, “Okay, it’s just right for digestion.”

After purchasing two bags of salt at the grocery, they had a leisurely walk around the town together.

Suddenly, sporadic snowflakes floated in the sky. The ancient town in the night looked like a model in a crystal ball, exquisite and beautiful to the extreme.

A snowflake landed on the tip of Su Yan’s nose. She felt a slight chill and looked up at the slightly red sky. ‘It would be nice if there were fireworks to watch.’

At this moment, Bai Xingfan looked at the time. “It’s eight o’clock.” He had just finished speaking when a burst of cannon fire sounded, followed by a flurry of brilliant fireworks that burst into the dark red night sky.

Su Yan was extremely surprised. She pointed her finger at the sky and shouted happily. “Fireworks! Someone is setting off fireworks!”

With a smile, Bai Xingfan lowered his gaze and gazed at her.

Su Yan’s gaze was fixed on the sea of fireworks. She raised her chin high and stared at the sky with her sparkling eyes.

She was amazed by the sight of fireworks flashing across the night sky.

Suddenly, a golden fire shot up into the sky, but what exploded was not a flower but two words—naughty cub.

Su Yan was taken aback when she suddenly became aware of something. “Did you do this?” she asked, glaring at someone.

With a calm and honest expression, Bai Xingfan said, “I did it.”

Su Yan: “…” 

‘You admitted it so quickly that I don’t know how to continue the conversation.’

She hesitated for a moment before deciding to watch the fireworks instead of pursuing this matter for the time being.

It would be one less if she missed one.

Nevertheless, after the two words “naughty cub” were flashed, the fireworks that kept going off were shaped like a pattern rather than flowers: first, a golden birdcage; then, a small bird flew out of the birdcage; and last, a third pattern burst into the night sky: the small bird landed on the palm of a person.

Su Yan’s eyes became painful as she gazed at the night sky in a blank state.

“I am paranoid, arrogant, and full of shortcomings,” said Bai Xingfan abruptly, in a serious tone. “I appreciate your continued willingness to accept my flaws.”

Suddenly, Su Yan’s eyes filled with tears, and she asked him, “What are you doing?”

“Propose to you again.” After taking out a diamond ring from his coat pocket, Bai Xingfan crouched down, gave Su Yan a serious look, and murmured softly, “Miss Su, are you willing to marry me again?”

Su Yan was in tears. She was even more thrilled than when she was first asked to marry him.

However, just when she was about to agree with him, she suddenly thought of something and stared at him with tears in her eyes. “Did you pour out my salt to trick me out of the house?”

Bai Xingfan: “I just hid the salt.”

Su Yan was only concerned about her salt now. “Where is it hidden?”

Bai Xingfan: “In the cupboard.”

Bai Xingfan placed the engagement diamond ring on Su Yan’s ring finger even though she already had a wedding ring on it.

Su Yan held up her hand to examine the ring after the man had placed it on her, and she immediately felt that she was particularly wealthy.

There were two diamond rings on one finger. The wedding ring was a dazzling white diamond ring, and the new engagement diamond ring was a ruby ​​pigeon egg.

“I suddenly thought of a way to make money.” Even though Su Yan’s nose and eyes were still red, she had a serious face. “If we divorce again, can you still…”

She started to say anything else, but Bai Xingfan’s incredibly stifling gaze cut her off.

He rose from the floor.

With a shudder, Su Yan clarified right away, “I was just joking!”

Everything was quiet.

This kiss was so passionate that it froze time and space.

Bai Xingfan eventually released Su Yan after a long time. 

“I will love you forever.”

Su Yan looked at him and replied gently and firmly, “I will always love you; no matter whether I’m locked in a cage or not, I will always be with you. Although I can’t remove the shackles for you, I can help you share the pressure. No matter where you go, as long as you look back, I will definitely support you behind you.”

With a sudden tightness in his throat, Bai Xingfan inhaled deeply and murmured, “Miss Su, I am so lucky to marry you in this life.”

“Mr. Bai, this marriage is a gift from heaven,” Su Yan said with a gentle smile.
