Yan Yan - Chapter 76.3

Chapter 76.3 – Extra 10
Bai Qiqi was now in elementary school, and she continued her domineering ways at the school as well.
Meanwhile, her little brother Bai Shiwu claimed her old playground and started making a name for himself, becoming quite the little troublemaker in the eyes of the kindergarten teachers.
This brother-sister pair really gave off that “Crouching Dragon and Phoenix Chick” energy, showcasing their dad’s fearless spirit.
Su Yan thought to herself, “I should have had more faith in him; I was too anxious. Bai Shiwu is way more skilled than I thought.”
[Note: The phrase “Crouching Dragon and Phoenix Chick” comes from Chinese mythology. It often refers to a young person who has incredible abilities that haven’t been fully developed yet, similar to a young phoenix chick that can grow into a powerful phoenix. The “crouching dragon” part highlights how this potential is hidden, ready to spring into action when the time is right.]
The next afternoon, after school, Su Yan and Bai Xingfan took their kids to the hospital to visit Cheng Jiheng.
As soon as they opened the ward door, Su Yan was caught off guard.
Inside, a stunning woman, who was equally surprised greeted them with a smile, asking Su Yan, “What brings you here?”
The woman wore a shirt and jeans. A soft pink hue graced her fair cheeks, and her bright, clear eyes sparkled like a sweet summer peach.
Bai Xingfan was taken aback and looked at his wife with a doubt. “Do you know each other?”
Su Yan explained, “I accidentally stepped on her shoe at the kindergarten entrance today.” Then she glanced down at her kids and gently urged, “Say hello to Auntie.”
Bai Qiqi and Bai Shiwu chimed in together. “Hello, Auntie.”
“Hello,” Tao Tao replied with a sweet smile.
Once inside, Su Yan spotted Cheng Jiheng lying in the hospital bed, and beside him was a little girl. Her tiny butt was raised in the air as she curiously looked toward the door.
The little girl was dressed in a fluffy white frock. At a glance, others could see that she resembled Cheng Jiheng a lot, almost like they were made from the same mould -like a mini version of him.
When she spotted Bai Shiwu, the little girl’s eyes lit up, and she exclaimed, “Is that you?”
Bai Shiwu grinned back, and exclaimed, “I can’t believe it’s you!”
Everyone was taken aback after realising that the two kids knew each other.
Tao Tao: “Little Milk Cake, is this the little brother who gave you chocolate?”
Little Milk Cake nodded enthusiastically. “Yep!”
Su Yan thought to herself: ‘My son is doing great!’
But when she glanced at Cheng Jiheng, she noticed his expression was not good.
Bai Xingfan, ignoring the gloomy vibe coming from his friend, gently patted his son’s head and said, “Shiwu, now that you’re a big brother, you need to look after your sister, got it?”
Bai Shiwu quickly nodded. “Got it!”
From that point on, whenever the three kids played together, Cheng Jiheng kept his eyes on Bai Shiwu, as if the little boy were a thief who would steal his daughter.
On the other hand, Su Yan kept an eye on Cheng Jiheng, and she felt that the man might be thinking, “My daughter is too precious for any of you, especially Bai Shiwu!”
After some time, the three kids wanted to play and someone threw out the idea of playing house.
Bai Qiqi was eager to take on the role of the mother, but Bai Shiwu quickly shot that down. “No way, you can’t be the mom because I want to be the dad, and I don’t want you to be the mom.”
Bai Qiqi shot him a look, and asked, “So what do you think I should be?”
Bai Shiwu replied, “You can be anything else, just not the mom. Little Milk Cake can be the mother.”
Bai Qiqi, being pretty clever, seemed to catch on to her brother’s game. For once, she decided not to argue and went along with it. “Alright, you can be the dad and Little Milk Cake can be the mom.”
Cheng Jiheng, who was listening to their conversation, quickly butted in. “That’s not gonna work. Little Milk Cake doesn’t want to.”
Little Milk Cake frowned and said, “Dad, you and I agree.”
“…” Cheng Jiheng was speechless for a few seconds. ‘Dad doesn’t agree!’ After thinking, finally, he said, “What I mean is, you should be a princess.”
Bai Shiwu immediately chimed in.”Exactly! Uncle Cheng is right, you’re the princess and I’ll be the prince!”
Cheng Jiheng: “…”
Tao Tao nearly burst out laughing. She had never seen Cheng Jiheng look so flustered. With a smirk, she teased him, “Why are you getting involved in their game?”
Cheng Jiheng was at a loss for words, feeling like Bai Shiwu was no ordinary kid.
Su Yan wanted to laugh too, but since she was visiting a patient, she held it in.
Bai Xingfan got the hint and, to lighten Cheng Jiheng’s mood decided to give his son a little advice. “Shiwu, as a prince, you can’t be picky about food. No more turning your nose up at broccoli!”
Hearing his father’s words, Bai Shiwu was feeling a bit anxious. “I eat everything. I’m not picky at all. I always eat broccoli!”
Bai Xingfan: “…”
Although the child did not say much, he could still read these words from his son’s eyes. “Dad, I advise you not to talk nonsense.”
Su Yan had to bite her tongue to hold back a laugh.
Bai Qiqi just snorted, not wanting to expose her brother’s lie.
Bai Shiwu insisted, “Being picky isn’t good. I’m a good kid.”
Then, out of nowhere, Little Milk Cake’s eyes welled up, and she turned to her dad. “Dad, if I don’t eat fatty meat, does that mean I’m not a good kid?”
Cheng Jiheng quickly reassured her, “Not at all! In my eyes, you’re a great kid, the best!”
Little Milk Cake smiled, clearly pleased.
Cheng Jiheng added while looking at Bai Shiwu, “Anyone who says you’re not a good kid just doesn’t like you.”
Bai Shiwu nodded, and said, “Exactly! Uncle Cheng is right; you’re the best.”
Cheng Jiheng was confused.“Huh?”
Little Milk Cake chimed in. “But you said being picky means you’re not a good kid.”
Bai Shiwu replied, “That’s for others. You’re special. You’re still a good kid even if you don’t eat fatty meat.”
Little Milk Cake beamed with a sweet smile. “Really?”
Bai Shiwu confirmed. “For sure! If you don’t like fatty meat, I won’t eat it either. Let’s skip it together.”
Bai Xingfan just sighed.
Su Yan shook her head.
Bai Qiqi rolled her eyes. ‘Bai Shiwu, you can be sweet, but not like this!’
Su Yan thought it might be time to remind her son. “Shiwu, you don’t seem to have…”
Bai Shiwu interrupted my mother’s words with just a look.
Su Yan clearly understood what was said in her son’s eyes. “Mom, I advise you not to meddle in other people’s business.”
