There was no one at home on October 3rd. The housekeeping aunty was on holiday, and her grandparents left early in the morning to visit old friends at the Lu family; her mother also went to the company after dinner, but before leaving, Yu Wenyin gave her daughter a big red envelope and wished her a happy eighteenth birthday.

The red envelope was so heavy that she could tell it was a generous gift without even opening it. After Li Xining received the red envelope, she asked her mother with a smile, “Is this my coming-of-age gift money?”

Li Xining sighed, slightly irritated. “Why is Lao Zhou so suspicious? He has already asked Xu Dongruo once.”

Yu Wenyin put on her coat, walked to the door, changed her shoes, and said, “Teachers also have their own stance and principles. You, students, must also understand it. Just behave yourself when you two are in school. What he wants is an attitude.” After changing her shoes, she opened the door and finally said to her daughter, “Happy birthday; don’t study at home today; go out and feel your youth.”

Yu Wenyin shook her head and said as she walked out the door, “Oh, you are so boring; why does Lu Yuling fall in love with you? You are so easily exploited.”

It was almost half past eight when Yu Wenyin went out, and Lu Yuling hadn’t come yet. Li Xining was the only one left at home. Although her desire to follow the drama had been reduced a lot by the annoying character Lu Yuling, she still liked to watch the interaction between the male and female protagonists and was secretly looking forward to the finale.

In fact, she was quite envious of the heroine. It was great to have a top-notch boyfriend to make up lessons for her.

At about nine o’clock, the phone rang, and it was Lu Yuling. After pressing the answer button, Li Xining didn’t even have time to speak. Lu Yuling said to her without any doubt, “You go downstairs now.”

Li Xining wondered. “Why?”

Lu Yuling: “Don’t ask so many questions. Go downstairs now. You will know when you get downstairs.” As if he were afraid that she would not go downstairs, he finally added another straw: “I will only wait for you for one minute. I’ll leave if you don’t come; there are a lot of people making appointments with me today.”

After saying that, Princess Lu hung up the phone proudly.

She didn’t know what kind of medicine Lu Yuling was selling. So after hanging up the phone, she casually put on a black sports coat over a white short-sleeved shirt and hurried downstairs. After walking out of the unit building, she realised that Lu Yuling had come by bicycle today—not the globally limited edition BMW bicycle, but the mountain bike that could carry people.

He also had a guitar strapped to his back.

As soon as he saw Li Xining, Lu Yuling said to her, “Get on the bicycle.”

Li Xining was confused. “Where are you going?”

Lu Yuling was still trying to keep it a secret, so he replied with a smile, “It’s a secret.”

Li Xining was anxious. “What secret do you keep? You can’t go anywhere today; you have to take the exam.”

Lu Yuling frowned. “Look at you, why are you so boring?”

Li Xining instantly recalled what her mother said to her before going out: ‘You are so boring; why did Lu Yuling fall in love with you? It’s easy for you to be exploited.’

Then she became a little unhappy and replied, You can go to whoever is interested.” After that, she made a show of leaving.

Lu Yuling quickly grabbed her cuffs. “I admit my mistake. You are interesting; you are the most interesting.”

Li Xining stopped and asked again, “Where are we going?”

Lu Yuling was helpless: “Can it still be a surprise if I say it?”

Li Xining was stunned and suddenly guessed why he had prepared a surprise for her today. Her heart skipped a beat, but she was worried that she was being sentimental, so she asked in a low voice, “Why do you want to surprise me?”

Lu Yuling raised his eyebrows slightly. “Isn’t it your birthday?”
