Chapter 27.1

This was the first time Li Xining came to a place like a bar. In her impression, the word “bar” had always been linked to “society,” and when she stepped into social territory for the first time, she was a little nervous.

She hugged  Lu Yuling’s guitar and followed Lu Yuling without missing a step.

A tiger instantly turned into a cat.

It was rare for Li Xining to rely on him so much, and Lu Yuling was very satisfied.

When we got into the bar, the lights were less bright, and the bar looked dark inside even though it was daytime.

The performance stage was on the very north side, and the stage was on the east side. In the middle of the hall, there were wooden tables, chairs, and benches placed here and there.

It was not even 10 a.m. yet, but there were already a lot of people at the bar.

When Lu Yuling entered the bar, someone quickly started shouting. This excited and happy expression was similar to a fan meeting.

Li Xining was surprised to see how many people liked Lu Yuling.

No people were sitting at the table closest to the stage. Brother Chen, the boss, brought them to the table and told Lu Yuling, “This table is just for you.”

Lu Yuling replied, “Thanks.”

Then Lu Yuling signalled for Li Xining to turn and look at him. He sat at the edge of the stage, reached out his hand to her, and asked for his son.

Li Xining held Lu Yuling’s son tightly as if it were her own. She was really scared that Lu Yuling wouldn’t come back after taking his son, and she looked at him suspiciously, asking him where he was going.

Lu Yuling thought it was funny how she looked scared and said, “I’m not leaving.” He said confidently that he would sing on stage and promised not to run away.

Li Xining saw that the stage was very close to her, less than two metres away. She felt relieved because she realised he couldn’t run away, so she gave Lu Yuling back his son.

Everyone in the bar was surprised when they saw what was happening, and they all looked at Li Xining with curious eyes.

They all knew that Lu Yuling treated his guitar like his own child, and he wouldn’t let anyone else handle it. If they did, he would get angry and hit them. Now a girl was holding the guitar, so without even needing to think about it, she could be the son’s mother.

Li Xining was standing up front, so she didn’t see the eyes behind her. Also, she didn’t know that Lu Yuling didn’t allow anyone else to touch his guitar.

After giving back the guitar to Lu Yuling, she put her elbows on the table to relax. He held his hands together and rested his chin on them as he watched Lu Yuling walk onto the stage with his guitar.

The owner, Brother Chen, went to the bar and sat on a tall stool because he also enjoyed listening to Lu Yuling’s songs. Even though he was young, he was really good at singing; he was confident and calm; and he could play the piano and the guitar. Brother Chen even thought that if Lu Yuling could become a singer in the future, he would definitely be successful.

Lu Yuling didn’t sing right away when he got on stage. Instead, he talked about the programme with the other band members while Brother Chen was waiting to watch the performance.

Brother Chen told a waiter to bring him a beer.

“Boss, who is that girl? the waiter who brought the beer asked.

Brother Chen: “His son was hugged by her. Can’t you understand?”

“Oh~” The waiter smiled and said, “Many girls have tried to be with him before but couldn’t. He already has a boss, and she looks very nice.”

In places like bars, handsome men and boys were often approached by girls, but no one dared to bother them.

Brother Chen said, “Do you think that just because you’re beautiful, you can make the boy surrender to you? Haven’t many other beautiful girls chased after him before? But he looks tougher than a Tibetan mastiff. Have you ever seen a Tibetan mastiff select its owner according to appearance?”

While they were speaking, Lu Yuling had already talked about the songs they would sing with the other band members.

Lu Yuling was part of a band with four people in total. The band included a keyboardist, a bassist, and a drummer. Lu Yuling played the guitar and was also the singer of the band. As soon as he hugged his guitar and went to the microphone, the people in the bar clapped and cheered loudly.

Li Xining was happy and clapped loudly when Lu Yuling came on stage.

Lu Yuling was standing very near her and continued to watch her after getting up.
