Chapter 28.2
As the bicycle suddenly braked, Li Xining almost fell out of the back seat; however, at that moment, her first thought was to protect the guitar.
Luckily, she managed not to fall out of the bicycle because she was able to hold Lu Yuling’s waist tightly with her other hand. After sitting firmly, she asked anxiously and angrily, “What are you doing?”
Hearing Li Xining’s angry words, Lu Yuling didn’t look back. He took a deep breath to suppress his feelings and replied with a temper. “Is a man’s waist something you can twist?” His voice was still hoarse as if it had been burned by fire.
Li Xining’s face turned red instantly, and she immediately retracted the hand holding his waist. Not only did she do that, but she even jumped off the bicycle and took six steps away from it like a child who was caught after making a mistake.
After some time, the heat in Lu Yuling’s heart finally went down under the autumn wind, and he looked at her to see that Li Xining was standing a few feet away like a frightened little rabbit, holding the guitar to her chest tightly with panicked eyes.
The atmosphere was a little awkward.
To get rid of the awkwardness, Lu Yuling coughed a little and said, “It’s okay, nothing happened… Let’s go and get the cake.”
Li Xining stood without moving, gazing at the guitar she was holding. She felt embarrassed and ashamed, and she didn’t want to walk over. After complaining in her heart for a while, she said, “You go first; I’ll go look for my mother.”
Lu Yuling definitely couldn’t let her go, so he had to continue to comfort her. “Come here quickly; I’m in a hurry, and I have something else to do in the afternoon.”
Li Xining said, “Just go, and you do your work.”
Lu Yuling asked, “Can I eat the cake alone? It’s not my birthday.”
Li Xining was still feeling awkward and said, “Why don’t you just tell me which cake shop it is, and I’ll go get it myself?”
“Listen.” Lu Yuling quickly stood up and looked at Li Xining with a frown. “I will be upset if you don’t come with me. And it will not be easy to coax me.”
Li Xining: ‘What?’ She wanted to imitate her mother’s way and say, “Sure, go ahead and get mad.” But then she realised that it would be really hard to coax Princess Lu afterwards, so she dared not think about creating such a situation.
Thinking for a moment, Li Xining walked towards the bicycle with the guitar and then sat in the back seat. But this time she didn’t hug his waist; instead, she just held onto his clothes gently.
Lu Yuling was a little upset. ‘It was okay that she didn’t hug me before, but now she doesn’t hug me. Is this making fun of me? Hmph, you can hug my waist if you want to.’
After a short period of quiet, Lu Yuling acted like he was calm and asked, “Aren’t you scared of falling?”
Li Xining understood the meaning of those words, but she felt too embarrassed to keep hugging him after what had just happened. “I’m not scared; it’s just a short ride anyway.”
‘I don’t ride; I won’t ride!’ Princess Lu was arrogant and stubborn. “My back hurts, and my bike is unstable. You may fall off.”
‘Who is this?’ Li Xining felt mad. “Quickly ride a bike,” she cried out.
“I won’t,” Princess Lu said confidently. “I’m scared that you might make my son fall.”
Li Xining said, “…”
She didn’t hug him, and Lu Yuling kept on standing still. They were both in a stalemate.
A minute later, Princess Lu decided to make the first move, being a little sneaky and a little fake. “I’m feeling cold; please hug me. I feel very weak.”
‘Are you still weak? Are you so weak that you only wear short sleeves?’ Li Xining was angry but couldn’t resist his coquettishness, so he finally reached out and hugged him.
Lu Yuling was similar to a stove. She could feel the warmth when she got near him. Li Xining blushed and couldn’t help but smile, muttering, “It’s annoying.”
Lu Yuling also laughed and said, “Why are you mad at me when you’re the one taking advantage of me? You’re being so unfair.”
Li Xining shouted angrily, “Lu Yuling.”
Lu Yuling was really scared this time and didn’t want to make Li Xining more angry. “Hold on tight; I’ll make you fly.”
He then pedalled fast, and they flew away like the wind.
