Chapter 31.2

When the water was boiling, Lu Yuling put the noodles in the pot, and when they were almost cooked, he added some veggies.

He then took two large bowls from the cupboard and filled them with the cooked noodles. “I put some shredded carrots and coriander in one of the noodle bowls. Now you can enjoy your meal.”

After getting his permission, Li Xining hurried to the kitchen, took the noodle bowls one after another, and placed them on the dining table.

When she came back to the kitchen after completing her task, she saw that the pork was almost cooked and just needed one more step to be completely done.

The kitchen had a delicious smell because the meat was cooking, and Li Xining was so hungry that she started to drool.

Lu Yuling wasn’t sure if the meat tasted sweet or salty, so he used chopsticks to pick up a piece of meat from the pot and fed it to Li Xining, telling her to blow on it and taste its taste.

Li Xining was surprised by this sudden action, and her heart started beating fast. She felt a little embarrassed because this was the first time a man had fed her food, but she still did what Lu Yuling asked and ate the meat.

‘Mmmm… Not greasy but full of flavour, sweet and soft, and really delicious.” She discovered that Lu Yuling’s braised pork tasted the same as her dad’s.

Lu Yuling smiled and asked, “Is it delicious?”

Li Xining nodded and said, “The food tastes really good.” 

Lu Yuling said, smiling, “If the food tastes good, then eat a lot, just like the king of animals.”

 “What?”

“Is that a tiger?” Lu Yuling asked with a smirk.

‘This means he is referring to me as a tiger.’ Li Xining felt angry and looked at Lu Yuling with a serious expression. Then she asked, “Am I being unkind?”

“Oh, you are very powerful. Even if you have a small body, you are really powerful, like a tigress.”

‘This guy.’ Li Xining was angry and laughed, then she reached out and twisted his arm.

Lu Yuling hissed, covered his arms, and said, dissatisfied, “Aren’t you happy when I praise you?”

Li Xining ignored him, picked up another dish, and left.

When Lu Yuling brought the braised pork to the living room, Li Xining had already arranged the table and opened the cake.

After placing the dish on the table, Lu Yuling took the candle and put it on the cake. When he was going to light the candle, he remembered he didn’t buy a lighter, so he had to use the stove in the kitchen to light it instead.

Li Xining understood why there was no lighter at home because he didn’t smoke.

She used to think it was strange that Lu Yuling didn’t smoke, but when she listened to his singing today, she understood the reason. She remembered her mother saying that Lu Yuling’s voice could sing well.

Smoking would hurt people’s throats, and it would affect singing.

Shortly after that, Lu Yuling returned with a lit candle. 

Li Xining asked why he only lit one candle on the cake for her eighteenth birthday.

Lu Yuling extinguished the candle in his hand and said, “I will light one candle this year, two next year, three the year after, and one more the year after that. Let’s see how many years you can celebrate your birthday with me.”

Li Xining quickly understood what Lu Yuling was saying, and she felt a strong emotion in her heart and tears in her eyes.

Lu Yuling didn’t talk much more. He sat down and said quietly, “Make a wish.”

‘I want to light 100 candles with you.’ In less than two seconds, the wish was made, and then the candle was blown out quickly.
