As soon as the video call with Xu Dongruo was over, an incoming call reminder popped up on the screen of Li Xining’s mobile phone. It was Lu Yuling.

Li Xining pressed the answer button but didn’t utter a word.

The content of the post popped into her head right away, and she felt embarrassed and blushed.

Lu Yuling expected this response, so he spoke first. “Hey, don’t worry, the post is gone now.” 

When he went to buy candy, he got a message from Fatty Ma. After Lu Yuling clicked on the link and read the post, he was furious. Although he was really mad, he stayed calm and quickly got in touch with the owner of the No. 1 Middle School Tieba.

The Tieba at No. 1 Middle School was not officially operated but was managed by the students themselves. The owner was a senior from the previous term and has a good relationship with Lu Yuling.

After Lu Yuling called him, he quickly removed the post and even teased him, saying, “You kid can do it; just hit a home run.”

Lu Yuling said, “Get out.”

The owner smiled and chuckled before finishing the conversation.

After that, Lu Yuling quickly called Li Xining. He wasn’t sure if she knew, but when she didn’t say anything on the phone, he knew she was aware of that.

He was anxious and scared that Li Xining would be depressed and that she would draw a clear line with him.

Lu Yuling didn’t get a response from Li Xining, and he thought for a bit and asked, “Um, what are your plans?”

Li Xining finally dared to speak. “Lu Yuling… What do we do now?”

After a while, she cooled down, and she switched on her phone. As soon as she switched on her phone, it began to ring, but it was not Lu Yuling but Chen Lin.

Li Xining quickly picked up the phone because she thought there was a problem at school. “Hello, what’s wrong?”

Chen Lin was very straightforward and said, “Old Zhou saw that post and got mad. He and I will definitely speak for you. Please be cautious and avoid getting too close to Lu Yuling.”

Li Xining heard that Chen Lin had been arranging the examination room at school in the afternoon and must be with Teacher Zhou, so she believed him. But she was shocked like she had been hit in the head because she didn’t expect the teacher to see the post. “The post is not true, and it has been taken down.”

“I know, and Old Zhou knows,” said Chen Lin in a calm voice, but this time the gentleness was different from the past. He is really mad that you and Lu Yuling are dating, and now everyone at school knows about it. He is our class teacher, and he was really upset about that. Li Xining was quiet because she didn’t know how to answer the question.

Chen Lin said, “You don’t need to worry too much. This problem can be easily fixed. Just stay away from Lu Yuling at school.”

Li Xining didn’t want to stay away from Lu Yuling. They had a good relationship. “I didn’t do anything wrong, and I didn’t buy anything, so why do I need to stay away from him?”

Chen Lin sighed and said, “Don’t you have to show it to Lao Zhou? Aren’t you scared of getting in trouble with him and the school? And what about Lu Yuling? He got into fights before, and he is skipping school. If he faces another incident, he will lose credits and get kicked out of school.”

Li Xining was confused and worried. She asked in a panicked voice, “Will he get kicked out of school?”

“If you don’t believe me, go check the campus handbook yourself. If your credits are deducted to a certain level, you will be expelled from the school. I think Lu Yuling is about the same. If he doesn’t have student status, how can he take the college entrance examination?” Chen Lin added. “Even if he won’t be expelled from school, with Lao Zhou’s character, he will definitely let him go home and reflect for a week. Li Xining was silent again. Everything Chen Lin said made sense, leaving no room for breathing at all. After a long time, she compromised. “Okay, I understand. Thank you.”

Chen Lin breathed a sigh of relief. “Then I’ll hang up first. You go to bed early tonight; don’t think so much; there are still exams tomorrow.”

“Okay.” After saying that, Li Xining hung up the phone.

But she still didn’t give up and found out about the campus handbook that was issued for military training for the first year of high school. She read it from beginning to end and finally confirmed that Chen Lin had not lied to her—if 300 points were deducted from a student’s credits, that one would be expelled from school.
