You hidden in my heart - Chapter 34.3

Chapter 34.3
Li Xining looked back and saw that Teacher Zhou was standing several steps away from her.
“Li Xining, come to my office,” Teacher Zhou ordered her and went to the teacher’s office.
Li Xining was very worried for a moment, feeling as anxious as someone waiting for a trial to start.
Chen Lin spoke in a calm and serious voice, saying, “Don’t be afraid. You already know what he is going to ask, so just give a good answer. Also, don’t forget what I just said before; think about Lu Yuling.”
Li Xining clenched her teeth tightly. She didn’t want to listen to Chen Lin, but when she heard “Lu Yuling,” she gave in and finally agreed. She nodded and then went to the teacher’s office.
When that was happening, Lu Yuling had been standing at the back door of the class, watching them quietly. He felt anxious and uneasy because he couldn’t hear what Chen Lin was saying, but he knew it was something bad.
When Li Xining walked up to him, the two looked at each other, and then she walked into Lao Zhou’s office.
Lu Yuling glanced at Chen Lin, who was still standing in the corridor.
Chen Lin was also looking at him, with a bit of contempt, a bit of hostility, and a bit of disdain hidden in his eyes.
‘He is really a two-faced devil.’
Lu Yuling sneered, then turned around and returned to class, walking straight towards the utility room at the back of the classroom.
The utility room and the class teacher’s office were connected; they were separated by a wooden door in the middle.
Teacher Zhou usually used that door to enter the classroom to keep an eye on students in the class when they had evening self-study sessions; especially, he would check whether back-row students were studying or playing games.
The wooden door was still open today and was still ajar. As soon as Lu Yuling walked into the utility room, he heard Lao Zhou asking Li Xining sternly, “Have you read that post yourself?”
Since entering the office, Li Xining has kept lowering her head uneasily.
After listening to Lao Zhou’s question, she whispered back, “I have seen it.” But she immediately added, “But those are all false and are rumours. Now the post has been deleted.”
Lao Zhou’s tone was still serious. “Is the content fake and the photos fake? I’m just asking you, Were you with Lu Yuling yesterday?”
Li Xining couldn’t deny this. “Yes.”
Lao Zhou said, “During a parent-teacher meeting that day, I talked with your mother about this matter. Did she tell you when she got home?”
Li Xining nodded. “Yes.” But she did not tell Lu Yuling about this matter.
Lao Zhou continued. “What your mother told me at the time was that you were close to Lu Yuling because you were grateful to him for saving you, so you helped him with tutoring and took good care of him. I have never doubted you from the beginning to the end. I believe parents won’t lie, but what happened in the past two days has forced me to re-examine the relationship between you two.”
Now that her mother was also involved in this, Li Xining couldn’t deny it. “We have nothing to do with each other, not at all. My mother didn’t lie to you.”
Lao Zhou didn’t believe Li Xining’s words. “You didn’t lie to me, right? Then what did you two do yesterday? And you were photographed. Now the high authorities are asking me for an explanation; how can I tell them?”
Li Xining clenched her fists. Her arms were trembling, but her face remained calm and composed. “He has been there for three days during the holiday. My grandparents and my mother all know about tutoring at my house. If you don’t believe it, you can call them and ask them. Except when we go to the supermarket to buy things together, we have never been alone together.”
Lao Zhou was even more confused. “Why did he come to your house to make up lessons? Your mother asked him to come.”
Have a nice day!
