Chapter 36.3

After observing from the sidelines for some time, Brother Chen came to the conclusion that the young couple had probably gotten into a fight. It made sense why the young boy was acting so grumpy tonight, acting like he had been shot and was going to blow up. 

It seemed the girl took the invitation to mend their relationship, but it would break the girl’s heart if he kept acting in this way.

“Lingzi, don’t be so aggressive. If you have something to say, be nice,” Brother Chen advised Lu Yuling. 

However, Lu Yuling was now unreceptive to the advice and simply stared at Li Xining with a cold expression, saying, “You don’t want to leave, right? Alright, I’ll head out.” Then he got up from the stool to leave. 

Li Xining was frightened and had no idea what to do. She grabbed him again in a hurry, but this time she didn’t tug his sleeve. Rather, she took his hand in her own and begged. “Don’t go… please.” She choked a cry while saying that. 

Yu Yuling’s heart gave way in an instant, and he was on the verge of unconditional surrender, but he refused to soften his heart because he was tired of being an idiot. “Li Xining, please stop bothering me,” he pleaded, hardening his heart as he looked at her.

Li Xining, who was in with teary eyes still held on to Lu Yuling. “You saved me; my life is yours; who else should I bother if not you?” She inhaled deeply and said word by word with a serious tone. 

She said those words that came from the bottom of her heart without being shy. She thought he could understand her feelings, but Lu Yuling, who had been hurt, didn’t understand at all. 

“You don’t have to.” Then, with a cold warning, he withdrew his wrist from her hand and said, “Don’t bother me in the future. Get out!” 

Li Xining felt she was struck by lightning. From childhood to now, no one had ever said the term “get out” to her; therefore, she felt uncomfortable and resentful. Her eyes filled with more tears instantly. 

Brother Chen, who couldn’t stand Lu Yuling’s unruly attitude, hurriedly scolded him. “Lingzi! What kind of speech is that? You apologise to her quickly. What a fool! This is not how you should talk to a girl. With this attitude, you will lose your girlfriend.”

Actually, Lu Yuling regretted talking to her that way. Especially the words “get out.” But how could a teenage boy, who was in a rebellious period, suppress his anger easily? He was really hurt by Li Xining’s words since morning, and no matter what Li Xining said, he couldn’t open his mouth to apologise to her. After all, he didn’t want her gratitude, so he didn’t want to think about her anymore. 

The only thing he wanted to do now was to make a clear break with her. He didn’t want to stay with her if she thought she was grateful for him because he saved her life. He wanted her to ignore him like before, or even pretend not to know him. 

He could accept likes and dislikes, but he couldn’t accept likes out of gratitude, let alone sympathy.

He didn’t have parents, but that didn’t mean he needed sympathy from others.

Lu Yuling’s silent attitude made Li Xingxing very uncomfortable. She felt her heart was pricked by a needle. ‘How in the world could there be a ba*tard that blind and paranoid? I’m really blind to like such a ba*tard.’

“You are a fool! A big fool!” she shouted while wiping her tears desperately. After telling that, she strode out. 

 Lu Yuling wanted to follow her after catching a glimpse of her back, but he lacked the bravery. He was motionless, as to a statue.

“Why are you just standing there acting like a fool? Go after her! Otherwise, you will no longer have a girlfriend,” Brother Chen said with a worried face. 

“She is not my girlfriend,” Lu Yuling responded in a hushed tone.

‘I‘ve never seen someone as foolish as this!’ Helpless, Brother Chen said, “Just wait and regret it!

‘Feel regret? Could I really regret it? Did I have the right to feel bad about it since she doesn’t like me?’ Lu Yuling sighed as he sank back into the booth, perplexed and upset.

Brother Chen sighed, said nothing more, and took a seat across from him.

After a long period of sitting without saying a word, Lu Yuling became more irritable rather than less. 

The waiter who had just left to carry the wine came into the store and hurried to his side just as he was about to take a sip, yelling nervously, “Lingzi, run out quickly, Cheng Ling brought people to block your girl.”

Upon hearing that, Lu Yuling’s face became ugly and his eyes filled with anger. He held the beer bottle from its neck, jumped up directly from his stool, and rushed out with a sullen face.

“Lingzi!” When he saw the boy in this manner, Brother Chen could see that he was furious so he quickly followed the boy outside fearing there would be a disaster.
