You hidden in my heart - Chapter 38.3

Chapter 38.3
Chen Lin did not watch the students while sitting on the podium during the last self-study session. When Li Xining arrived at the class, Chen Lin also went back to his seat and sat there in a calm manner as if nothing had happened that day.
Teacher Zhou had assigned both Li Xining and Chen Lin to keep an eye on the class, so even though Chen Lin stopped his duty, Li Xining had to keep her work. So she took over Chen Lin’s place by sitting on the podium and holding a book. She saw Lu Yuling as soon as she sat on the stool.
She watched Lu Yuling open the back door and be ready to sneak out.
Although she was aware of what he would do, she purposefully asked him in front of the class, “Lu Yuling, where are you going? Class is about to start.”
‘Will the monitor take the lives of her family members in the name of justice?’
The entire class abruptly stopped writing and turned to watch Lu Yuling; it was time to watch the show.
Lu Yuling would not take this seriously at all if it were any other class leader, saying simply that “something happened” and walking away without turning around. But Li Xining was this person, and he would not dare to disobey her.
He was afraid to tell her the truth unless he wanted to die without a whole body, so he gave a simple reply, “Oh, I’m going to the toilet.”
Li Xining was unimpressed with his antics and asked, “Why didn’t you leave the classroom once it ended?”
“I didn’t get in the queue, and there were too many people in the toilet after class,” said Lu Yuling, maintaining his cool.
‘Just make it up, Mr. Movie Star, and let’s see how it ends later.’ Li Xining responded directly: “I’ll give you three minutes; you must come back within three minutes; otherwise, your name will be on the blackboard.”
‘Having the name on the blackboard means your name will be recorded in Mr. Zhou’s book, and that means he will be finished.’ Most of the students thought like that. ‘The class leader seemed to genuinely desire to sacrifice her own family to uphold the law!’
Under Li Xining’s threat, Lu Yuling had no choice but to resist, especially since he was already feeling guilty.
Li Xining looked at her watch as soon as she was done speaking, then lifted her wrist to show the time.
Lu Yuling saw this and raced out of the classroom, sprinting in the direction of the west stairway and the target garbage can in an attempt to beat the clock.
Since he had just made some peace with Li Xining, he was afraid that she would discover his horrible crime of discarding the gift of love if he dug through the trash can in front of her. So he intended to leave at the final nighttime self-study session, but he was discovered in the act.
He remembered that he threw the rabbit into the trash can near the stairs, so he ran to the stairwell and dived into the trash can, starting to pick through the garbage carefully.
He thought he still had a chance to locate the rabbit because the trash bin was still full, indicating that the rubbish had not been removed yet. Lu Yuling couldn’t help but sigh as he saw this.
But while ideals were brimming with optimism, reality was lean. He turned the large garbage bin top to bottom from inside to outside, but he was still unable to locate his bunny.
Lu Yuling was taken aback.
‘This is impossible.’ He remembered it was this trash can that he threw the key chain. ‘Could it be that I remembered it wrong? But this is impossible.’
Although he did not doubt his memory, Lu Yuling turned the other trash can upside down carefully just in case, but still did not find the rabbit.
Lu Yuling’s expression became ugly as he stared at the two trash cans he had turned upside down. He pondered for a long time, thinking about what would happen.
‘The rabbit is gone, and the little tigress will definitely not let me go easily.’
***
Perhaps Lu Yuling had forgotten the three-minute time limit because he was too preoccupied with rooting through the garbage can. His name was on the blackboard when he got back to class.
He then realised that class leader Li’s punishment had started. However, he was unable to fight back and was forced to face the penalty in silence.
Lu Yuling reclined back in his seat, and Fatty Ma did his best to lean away from him while covering his nose. “Brother, what’s the smell on you?” he questioned, fighting the urge to throw up.
‘What else could it smell like? Garbage.’
He dug through two big trash cans in quick succession, and a strong smell covered his body.
However, Lu Yuling also knew his own limitations. In order not to pollute the classroom environment, he took the book and went out directly, standing in the corridor outside the classroom.
The classroom was bright, but the corridor was dark.
Looking out from the classroom, students couldn’t see what was going on in the corridor, but standing in the corridor, they could see the classroom clearly.
Lu Yuling did not read the book after leaving the classroom; rather, he leaned with his elbows on the railing and fixed his gaze on Li Xining, who was seated on the classroom podium.
Lu Yuling was still happy even though the little tigress was studying the entire time and never looked up at him. Either way, he was certain now that the light beam was genuine, not a hoax, and that she truly loved him.
‘This is enough. As for the rabbit, well, let’s take time to coax her.’
Have a nice day!
