After some time, the bell rang and the last self-study class was over for the day.

Until recently, Lu Yuling didn’t bring books to school. But now, as he had promised to Li Xining, he had started to study. So after the bell rang, he went to the class to pack his bag.

By the time he finished packing, Li Xining hadn’t finished yet, so Lu Yuling stood outside the front door of the classroom waiting for her.

Before exiting the classroom, Li Xining felt a bad smell coming outside, and when she saw the boy outside the classroom, she knew where the smell was coming from.

‘Hmph, it’s from the trash can.’ She immediately became angry and disgusted with him. “Stay away from me; it stinks!”

Lu Yuling didn’t dare to anger the tigress, and he walked a few steps away helplessly. “Okay… I’ll stay away from you.” 

Li Xining rolled her eyes at him and walked towards the stairwell without looking back.

On the way home, she treated Lu Yuling as air: she didn’t say a word and didn’t look at him.

It showed that she was stuck to her words. ‘If you can’t find the rabbit, don’t even think about making peace with me!’

With Li Xining’s attitude towards him, Lu Yuling had no choice but to follow her silently on his bike while keeping a distance from her.

However, Li Xining stopped at the red light at the intersection nearest to her home. Lu Yuling quickened his pedalling speed and came to her side.

Li Xining still had the same attitude. She immediately covered her nose, saying in disgust, “Didn’t I tell you to stay away from me? You stink!”

Lu Yuling raised his arm and smelt his sleeve and retorted confidently, “The smell has been blown by the wind; the stink has long gone!”

Li Xining ignored him.

Lu Yuling sighed again, stretched out his hand, grabbed her sleeve, and begged her. “Please make peace, I beg you. I know I was wrong, and I will never dare to do it again. Let’s make peace.”

Li Xining: “Where’s the rabbit?”

Lu Yuling was speechless. After hesitating for a while, he asked cautiously, “What if… I can’t find it?”

“Then don’t even think about making peace with me in your life,” Li Xining said mercilessly.

Lu Yuling: “…”

The red light turned green, and Li Xining rode away. Looking at her back gradually going away, Lu Yuling was full of melancholy, and he really didn’t know where to find that rabbit.

After returning home in the evening, Lu Yuling sent a series of WeChat messages to Li Xining to admit his mistakes, beg for forgiveness, and seek reconciliation.

However, Li Xining didn’t reply, and even though it seemed she hadn’t seen the messages.

It was not until she finished washing up and lay down in bed to get ready for sleep that Li Xining picked up her phone. 

Only then did she realise that Lu Yuling had changed his profile picture to a cartoon tiger. Although the image of the tiger looked cute, she became angry seeing that. ‘Is he implying I’m a tigress?’

In a fit of anger, she also changed her profile picture to a little princess in a pink dress. Just half a minute after she changed her profile picture, Lu Yuling called her. 

Li Xining hung up the phone directly, but Lu Yuling was persistent and called her again. 

This time Li Xining was not so decisive. After hesitating, she still answered his call but did not speak.

Lu Yuling didn’t expect Li Xining to calm down so quickly, so he lowered his tone and asked very humbly, “Will you have breakfast with me tomorrow morning?” 

That day at the parents’ meeting, Li Xining found out that Lu Yuling had been taking a long detour to pick her up and drop her off every day for more than two years. To allow him to sleep twenty minutes longer in the morning, she suggested that they go to the cafeteria to eat together in the future. But that was before he threw away the rabbit!

‘Hmph, after throwing away the rabbit I gave you, you still expect me to have breakfast with you? You wish!’

But Li Xining did not refuse directly but asked, “Did you find the rabbit?”

Lu Yuling: “Ahem.”

Li Xining asked again knowingly. “Speak up! Have you found it?”

Lu Yuling coughed lightly to ease the tension and anxiety in his heart and replied hesitantly, “Well, well, I found it, but… the head is cracked, the cotton is bursting out… It can’t be used anymore. So let’s replace a pair?” 

‘Such a nice actor you are!’ Li Xining, however, refrained from exposing him and instead calmly responded, saying, “Then give me the rabbit tomorrow, and I’ll have my grandma sew it for you. She is very good at embroidery.”

Hearing that, Lu Yuling was so terrified. “There’s no need! Not necessary! I can sew it. I’m also capable of sewing it.”

Li Xining was on the verge of laughing aloud, but she bit the sofa to avoid exposing herself.

Lu Yuling said, “I’ve been working on physics problems for the last two days. The task is heavy, and there is little time. After I finish answering these questions, I will sew the bunny.”

“Okay.” Li Xining allowed him to lead and take action without exposing him. “Then when you finish sewing the rabbit and hang it on your schoolbag, we will go to have breakfast together.”

Lu Yuling, not one to give up, started arguing with Li Xining using Ma Pang’s reasoning. “I disagree. This argument is nonsensical. Whether the rabbit is present or not, it has nothing to do with us having breakfast together.”

Li Xining didn’t want to back off. “I tell you, Lu Yuling, I must have rabbits here! Whether your reasoning makes sense or not, rabbits are a prerequisite for breakfast.” After saying that, she hung up the phone.

Lu Yuling: “…”

At this point, he finally understood a profound truth. 

Women are illogical, so never talk logic with women; otherwise, you will only die a more miserable death.
