You hidden in my heart - Chapter 40.2
Chapter 40.2
Li Xining entered the cafeteria holding a milk tea, stood at the door, and carefully scanned the crowd for Xu Dongruo.
“Li Xining, this way!” Xu Dongruo got up from the stool and waved her friend as soon as she saw her.
After sitting, Li Xining first told Xu Dongruo about her encounter with Han Qiaowei at the milk tea shop’s entryway. After telling about the whole incident, she couldn’t help but to curse. “Han Qiaowei is really a piece of sh*t!”
Xu Dongruo was surprised by what her friend faced just a moment before. With gritted teeth, Xu Dongruo uttered the following words: “If she truly dares to bring people to stop you, I will beat her until her face is disfigured!”
“If she really dares to bring people to block me, you don’t need to do anything; I will beat her myself,” Li Xining retorted with a calm yet ferocious demeanour.
With that, Xu Dongruo was a little taken aback because, in her eyes, Li Xining had always been a good girl who adhered carefully to the norms and regulations of school, never used slang or swearing, let alone participated in cruel and violent acts like fighting. She therefore couldn’t have predicted that Li Xining would ever feel the need to physically abuse someone. ‘She continued to evolve, becoming more and more like Lu Yuling.’ Xu Dongruo sighed and said, “It’s true that if you marry a chicken, you follow the chicken; if you marry a dog, you follow the dog.”
“What do you mean by that?” Li Xining asked with a panic.
Xu Dongruo: “It means that you are becoming more and more like Lu Yuling.”
After a brief period of silence, Li Xining questioned, “Are you reprimanding me? Or are you complimenting me?
With a smirk, Xu Dongruo said back, “It seems what I said was true. You are definitely becoming like Lu Yuling. The little princess is not easy to coax!”
Li Xining rolled her eyes at her. “Then why do I look like Lu Yuling?”
“First, you are getting bolder and bolder; second, you dare to skip school and go against your class teacher; finally, you are ready to beat someone up,” Xu Dongruo stated, counting on her fingers. “Tell me, are you starting to resemble Lu Yuling more and more?”
“I…” Li Xining had intended to argue, but when she opened her mouth, she was unable to do so. She also felt that what her friend said was true.
“It’s all because of him that I was led astray!” After thinking about what to say for a while, finally Li Xining muttered.
Xu Dongruo: “Then why don’t you learn from others’ good points?”
Li Xining asked angrily, “What good points does he have? His bright spot is beyond my reach, not even with a magnifying glass! What can I take away from him? How can I behave like a spoilt kid?” ‘Every day, this scoundrel never fails to enrage me!’
Xu Dongruo did not refute Li Xining because she knew her too well.
Li Xining could only say bad things about Lu Yuling herself, and no one else could say a word. She would get angry if someone said anything, so she would not step on the thunder. So Xu Dongruo did not continue to joke with her friend and got back to the point, “I think you still have to tell Lu Yuling about this, and let him find a way to deal with Han Qiaowei, so that this woman will not come to you every day to cause trouble.”
First Li Xining thought about telling Lu Yuling, but thinking that he would get into trouble because of that, she thought not to tell him for now. “I don’t want him to get into trouble, and he is a man and Han Qiaowei is a woman. No matter how he deals with her, it will be inappropriate. Others will accuse him of bullying a woman.”
According to Xu Dongruo, Li Xining’s words made sense. Han Qiaowei was a typical dark villain—a cruel woman. A villain would throw arrows from behind, making it impossible to avoid them; meanwhile, a gentleman was upfront and honest, so there was no need to be on guard against him.
She consoled Li Xining after giving it some thought, saying, “You don’t really need to worry. Lu Yuling is with you on the way to and from school, and I’m with you at school. She will most certainly not dare touch you.”
“Just block her; I’m not afraid of her anyway!” Li Xining said stubbornly.
By the time they finished their lunch, it was only half past twelve. Neither of them hurried back to the classroom because Lao Zhou had mandated that everyone arrive by 1:20 PM.
Instead, they walked around the school playground hand in hand for a few laps, talking as they walked. They just talked about their feelings, gossip, or some things from their childhood.
Have a nice day!
