You hidden in my heart - Chapter 46.1

Chapter 46.1
Lu Yuling was taken back to the west wing by Li Xining after he had been dragged out of the east wing.
‘Huh? Who wants to go inside the house to get some fresh air?’ Before entering the east wing, Lu Yuling asked curiously, “Don’t you want to get some fresh air?”
“I just want to come here to get some fresh air!” “I just want to come here to get some fresh air!” Li Xining boldly said, turning around and giving the boy a fierce look.
He didn’t dare to disagree with her. “I also think the air in the west wing is good.”
His words nearly made Li Xining laugh, but she ignored him, dragged Lu Yuling away, and raised the thick curtain that was hanging on the door frame.
The housekeeper had already dealt with the dead wolfdog.
Li Xiyan and Li Xichen were still in the west wing coaxing Zhuangzhuang and Tiantian. Besides, they didn’t want the little ones to see Zhao Cichu’s bad behaviour again.
As soon as Li Xining and Lu Yuling entered the room, Li Xichen asked, “Why are you two back? Where’s Zhao Cichu? How’s the situation on the other side?”
Li Xining replied, “Why can’t we come back? We didn’t do anything wrong.”
Li Xichen looked at Lu Yuling in disbelief and asked, “Zhao Cichu’s face is so swollen, and Mr. Zhao is so protective of his granddaughter. How did he let you go so easily?”
Lu Yuling didn’t know how to answer this question. Just now, when he was in the west wing, he learnt from the conversation between the three brothers and sisters that Mr. Zhao was an old, stubborn man who was extremely difficult to deal with. He was petty and protective of his own people. In addition, his granddaughter immediately let the dog pounce on Li Xining, so he had never had a good impression of the entire Zhao family.
But just now in the east wing, the attitude and behaviour displayed by their family did not seem so offensive.
At least Mr. Zhao and Mrs. Zhao publicly chastised Zhao Cichu and did not stand up for her. Even more surprising was the fact that Zhao Hailan, who was a top figure in the business world, would publicly apologise to his grandfather for his daughter’s mistake.
So Lu Yuling couldn’t stop saying after hesitating for some time, “The Zhao family’s attitude is good, and they didn’t pursue it.”
Li Xining understood what Lu Yulin was thinking. He had never had any contact with the Zhao family before, and all his impressions of the Zhao family came from her. This was the first time he met with the Zhao family, and the Zhao family left a good first impression on him, so he hesitated now.
‘After all, you see more clearly than you hear. Even I would be in his situation if something like this happened.’
However, after analysing everything in one go, Li Xining felt that the Zhao family was too cunning. ‘Zhao Hailan is cunning, and so are Old Man Zhao and Old Lady Zhao. No one showed their true side in front of Lu Yuling, and everyone was trying to create a positive image in order to leave a good impression on their son and grandson. What will they do after today?’
Li Xining was certain that the Zhao family would not tolerate it today if Lu Yuling had not been Zhao Hailan’s son. Their uncommon generosity was not motivated by fear; rather, it was a shift from safeguarding their granddaughter to protecting their grandson. Others could not beat their granddaughter, but that didn’t mean she could beat their own grandson.
Li Xining was so distressed by their actions that she was unable to speak. Her mother was correct; when the Zhao family was fighting among themselves, the old couple could not blame others.
She was unable to say this in front of Lu Yuling, though, and she was unable to speak negatively of the Zhao family at this time because, based on their recent behaviour, they clearly wanted their grandson to recognise his ancestors.
‘But if Lu Yuling knows the truth, with his character, he will never forgive Zhao Hailan, let alone recognise his ancestors. My grandpa wants me to persuade him to go home. If I expose the true face of the Zhao family in front of him now, how can I persuade him to go home in the future? Isn’t this a slap in the face?’
Although she also thought that Zhao Hailan was an unforgivable scumbag, she knew that the Lu family didn’t treat the boy sincerely except his uncle. So recognising his family was really the best choice so far.
Moreover, now the Zhao family knew of his existence, they would never abandon him.
So Li Xining also realised that her grandfather’s idea was good.
In her point of view, although the Zhao family was petty about others, she had to admit that the old couple of the Zhao family were really good to their own children.
Just like her mother said, this was a society based on personal relationships, and Lu Yuling must have a solid backer, and the Zhao family could provide him with that.
For Lu Yuling’s future, Li Xining suppressed all her dissatisfaction and anger towards the Zhao family and followed Lu Yuling’s words and said to her fifth brother, “They really didn’t pursue it this time. After Uncle Zhao heard Zhao Cichu scolding Lu Yuling, he knelt in front of Grandpa Lu and kowtowed to him to admit his mistake. He kowtowed three times in a row.”
Li Xichen was shocked. “What the hell?”
Even the usually calm Li Xiyan was shocked. “What?”
Li Xining nodded while saying, “Not only that, Grandpa Zhao and Grandma Zhao also scolded Zhao Cichu for being ignorant.”
Li Xichen was silent for a moment before saying, “When did their family start to eat vegetarian food and chant Buddhist scriptures?”
Li Xining almost laughed out loud, but she bit her tongue hard to stop herself from laughing—she was trying hard to create a good impression of the Zhao family for Lu Yuling, and her brother’s words almost ruined her efforts.
Li Xiyan was older and more mature after all. He looked at his brother sternly and said, “Don’t always be so outspoken.”
Li Xichen was still unconvinced. “Why am I so outspoken? Forget it; I won’t tell you so much; you will just scold me.” After saying that, he handed Tiantian in his arms to Li Xining. “I’ll go to the east wing to take a look.”
Li Xiyan was worried about his younger brother, so he handed Zhuangzhuang in his arms to Lu Yuling and went to the east wing with Li Xichen to prevent him from talking nonsense again.
Have a nice day!
